Chapter 246: 246/Playing Until the Fucking End

Chapter 246

Stephanie’s POV

My jaw locked so tight my teeth threatened to shatter under the pressure. I felt my knees give out beneath me, as if the bones inside had dissolved into dust. My back slammed violently against the wooden doorframe as I gasped for air, forced to watch the sickening spectacle unfolding before me the final pillar of my shattered emotional fortress collapsing into ash.

Cedric... the man I had given my heart to, the man in whose eyes I used to see my safe haven... the man I believed was madly in love with me and saw me as his one and only. There he was, expelling his filth on the bed of my closest friend the only woman I had ever trusted with my tears and my deepest secrets.

"S... Stephanie!" Cedric choked out my name, his breath ragged, every ounce of his pride melting into sheer humiliation. He scrambled backward in blatant panic, his trembling fingers blindly clawing at his pants on the floor.

As for Kira, she huddled beneath the dark sheet, tears pooling in her wide eyes with a terror that didn’t hide her subtle, insidious guilt.

"Stephanie... please..." she whispered, her voice cracking with desperation: "...Let me explain to you... it’s not what it looks like—"

"Shut the fuck up!"

I screamed in a low, raspy tone dripping with venom—a sound I didn’t even know my throat was capable of producing.

I stumbled back into the narrow hallway, shaking my head hysterically as bitter laughter began clawing its way up my throat. The brutal reality shattered over me like a heavy sledgehammer: my marriage to Alexander was a lie, my love for Cedric was a staged play, and my friendship with Kira was pure treason. Everything in my life was absolute fakery... I was nothing more than a puppet passed around without mercy.

Cedric bolted off the bed, completely unbothered by his partial nakedness or his raw injuries. He extended a hand toward me in desperate pleading:

"Stephanie, listen to me! I swear to you that I—"

"Don’t you fucking touch me!"

I slapped the air violently, backing away as my eyes darted frantically between his bloodshot pupils and Kira’s pale face behind him.

"Don’t come anywhere near me with your filth, Cedric!"

Swallowing scalding air, I laid my shaking palm over my stomach. My shocked features hardened with terrifying speed, freezing into an iron mask of pure, icy detachment. Tears welled in my eyes, but I refused to let a single drop fall in front of them.

"I thought you were my sanctuary..." I whispered, my voice completely devoid of hope as I pinned him with my burning gaze: "...Turns out you’re just pure filth."

I spun around and sprinted down the hallway, completely ignoring Cedric shouting my name as he tried to chase after me, alongside Kira’s pathetic, delayed pleas.

I slammed the front door behind me with a violent strike that shook the entire house. Sprinting down the stone steps, I threw myself into my car, realizing in that exact second... that Stephanie the weak, naive fool had died inside that room. Only one woman was left, and she was going to demand blood from everyone who had violated her life.

I fired the engine with hands no longer trembling from fear, but burning with a fierce desire for destruction. I slammed my foot on the accelerator, leaving a trail of shrieking tires in the dark street behind me.

The road ahead was a thick blur. This was no longer just about a casual betrayal or a missing marriage contract... the picture had finally completed itself with deadly clarity. Alexander built a prison of forged documents to keep ownership of me; Cedric played the heroic savior to keep me under his control; and Kira... Kira was the rat spying on my every move to coordinate their filthy game.

I gripped the steering wheel until my knuckles turned stark white, screaming into the dark cab with a voice that rattled my ribs:

"You wanted a game?! Then we’ll play it to the fucking end!"

I hit the dashboard phone, speed-dialing Dominic. Before the first ring could even finish, his deep, expectant voice filled the car:

"Stephanie? What happened?"

I forced my breath to steady, keeping my tone bone-dry, hard, and stripped of all tears:

"Dominic... the fake marriage was just the beginning. Alexander, Cedric, and even my friend Kira... they’re all in league together. Everything was a staged play targeted at me."

Silence stretched for two agonizing seconds on the other end, before his voice sliced through, sharp as a razor:

"Where are you right now?"

"On my way to the estate," I answered, pushing the speedometer higher. "I’m stepping back into the cage, but this time... I’m not playing the victim waiting for anyone’s mercy. I want you to mobilize every shred of power you have, because when I open the gates of this hell, I won’t leave a single one of them standing."

A heavy exhale came through the speaker, followed by a dark, approving chuckle:

"Finally awake, Stephanie... Go to the estate and act as if you know nothing until our plan is ready. I’m right behind you."

I hung up and tilted my head toward the side mirror. My pale face stared back the terror completely gone, replaced by a stone-cold glare.

I pulled up to the massive iron gates of the Volkov estate. The guards swung the heavy steel open, and I drove through slowly under the glare of the spotlights. Parking in the garage, I took one last deep breath before stepping out, clutching my bag with unyielding strength.

Alexander was standing near the entrance holding a glass, turning toward me with a calm look and a deceptive smile:

"Stephanie... back already? We were waiting for you."

I forced a smile onto my lips softer than magic, yet colder than death itself and took a steady step toward him:

"Yes, Alexander... I’m back."

Before I could take another step toward the doors, the sharp screech of tires shattered the courtyard’s quiet. I turned around slowly to see a sleek luxury car pull up recklessly right behind mine.

The door swung open, and Isabella stepped out in her full, towering elegance, a venomous smile of triumph curling her lips. She slammed the door shut and marched up the steps with supreme confidence, adjusting her coat as she sneered:

"Hello, dear Stephanie..."
