One Piece : I Became a Monster Just by Eating
Chapter 32 Tashigi in Love
The three of them arrived at the pier, and the sailors who had been waiting on the ship for three months were so excited they were moved to tears.
The reason Huiye felt safe leaving the ship in the care of these sailors for three months was also because Moomoo was there.
Faced with such a massive sea beast, even if these sailors wanted to sail the riding the wind for ten thousand miles away, they didn’t have the ability.
“Thank you for your hard work these past three months.”
“Next, we’ll go to Loguetown to do some shopping, and I’ll give each of you a reward of five hundred thousand Berries.”
“You can spend them in Loguetown or take the Berries home.”
As soon as Huiye finished speaking, the sailors immediately erupted into a burst of cheers.
Five hundred thousand Berries was a significant fortune for them, enough to enjoy themselves in Loguetown or take home to improve their families’ lives.
“Long live Lord Huiye!”
A young sailor shouted excitedly, and others followed suit, their eyes sparkling with gratitude and excitement.
Huiye smiled slightly, his gaze sweeping over everyone before finally landing on Moomoo.
The giant sea beast was lying lazily at the stern, occasionally flicking its tail to slap the water, sending up splashes of spray.
It seemed to sense Huiye’s gaze and turned its head, letting out a low growl as if asking for credit.
“You did great too; thanks to you for these three months.”
Huiye reached out and stroked Moomoo’s rough skin, and the latter squinted its eyes in satisfaction.
The riding the wind for ten thousand miles slowly sailed away from the pier, heading towards Loguetown.
Around noon, the silhouette of Loguetown appeared in Huiye’s field of vision.
“Moomoo, wait for us around here; don’t get too close to Loguetown.”
“Otherwise, it’ll easily cause a panic.”
“We’ll bring you something delicious when we get back.”
Huiye instructed Moomoo.
The sea beast nodded obediently, its massive body slowly sinking into the sea, leaving only a pair of round eyes watching the ship depart.
The luxurious riding the wind for ten thousand miles slowly entered the port of Loguetown, immediately drawing countless gazes of amazement.
This giant ship, entirely black and decorated with golden patterns, shone brilliantly in the sunlight, like a sleeping giant dragon awakening.
The crowd on the pier stopped to watch, whispering about the origins of this mysterious vessel.
“Take turns going into Loguetown for shopping.
If anyone targets the riding the wind for ten thousand miles, don’t hold back—just use the cannons.”
“I’ll take responsibility if anything happens.”
Huiye gave these instructions to the sailors before disembarking.
The sailors straightened their backs and responded in unison.
“Understood, Lord Huiye!”
Their eyes shone with determination, clearly prepared to protect the ship.
Huiye nodded with satisfaction and led Nami and Nojiko down the gangway.
The bustle of Loguetown hit them; the streets were teeming with people, and the shouts of vendors rose and fell.
The aroma of roasted meat and the sweetness of fresh fruit wafted through the air, making one’s mouth water.
“Let’s split up.”
“Nami, go buy a den den mushi; Nojiko, go order a batch of Sea King meat.”
“Then what are you going to do?”
Nami looked at Huiye teasingly.
“Cough, I’m going to gather information!”
Huiye distributed the Berries to the two women, keeping only a small bag for himself, about five million or so.
“Hmph~”
“Nojiko, let’s go.
Ignore this big flirt.”
Nami and Nojiko each carried a bag and walked towards Loguetown.
Huiye carried his bag towards the Marine Base.
“Halt!”
“This is a Marine Base; unauthorized personnel are not allowed inside!”
A Marine soldier blocked him warily, his hand already on the hilt of the sword at his waist.
“Hello, I’m looking for Sergeant Tashigi.
Could you please call her for me?”
Huiye casually took out ten thousand Berries and handed them to the Marine soldier.
Seeing the Berries, a hint of hesitation flashed in the soldier’s eyes, but he quickly regained his serious expression.
“Sergeant Tashigi should be training at the training ground right now.
I can report it for you, but you must wait here.”
The soldier took the Berries, his tone softening slightly.
Huiye nodded and waited patiently at the base entrance.
Before long, a short-haired girl wearing round-rimmed glasses walked over quickly.
She was wearing a standard Marine uniform with a long sword at her waist; it was Tashigi.
“Huiye!”
After seeing Huiye, Tashigi lunged at him under the shocked gaze of the Marine soldier.
Huiye put down the bag in his hand and opened his arms to catch Tashigi.
She threw herself into his arms like a bird returning to its nest, her cheeks flushing slightly and her eyes full of joy.
“Why are you here?”
Tashigi looked up, her eyes sparkling behind her glasses.
“I missed you, so I came to see you.”
Huiye chuckled and rubbed her short hair.
“Has training been hard lately?”
Tashigi shook her head, then nodded.
“Captain Smoker has increased the training intensity recently, but I can handle it!”
She clenched her fist, showing a determined expression.
Huiye reached out and pinched Tashigi’s cheek.
“You’ve gotten thinner.”
He said with great concern.
“No I haven’t~”
“I actually feel like I’ve gained weight.”
Tashigi looked down at her chest somewhat bashfully.
Huiye followed her gaze and said with a mischievous grin, “Really?
Then I’ll have to check.”
“Oh, people are watching~”
Tashigi shyly covered Huiye’s mouth.
“Then shall we go to town?”
Tashigi hesitated for a moment and nodded.
“Then wait for me a moment; I’ll go ask for leave.”
After saying that, Tashigi gave Huiye a kiss on the cheek and ran back into the Marine Base.
The two guards at the door were now standing there dumbfounded, their spears nearly dropping to the ground.
They had never seen the usually serious and earnest Sergeant Tashigi show such a bashful side, let alone be so intimate with an outsider.
“Hey, was that…
really Sergeant Tashigi just now?”
The young Marine rubbed his eyes and asked in disbelief.
“Shut up!
Just pretend you didn’t see anything!”
The older guard scolded in a low voice, but the shock in his eyes was hard to hide.
Not long after, Tashigi, who had changed into civilian clothes, jogged back to the entrance.
She was wearing a light blue dress, her hair simply loose, looking even more youthful and beautiful than usual.
The guards quickly straightened their backs and saluted, but couldn’t help stealing glances at the perfect couple.
“Let’s go!”
Tashigi naturally took Huiye’s arm, her face beaming with a happy smile.
“I know a new dessert shop opened in town; their strawberry cake is especially delicious.”
The two strolled through the streets of Loguetown, sunlight filtering through the sycamore leaves to cast dappled shadows.
Tashigi was like an excited little girl, constantly telling Huiye about her experiences over the past few months.
After finishing dinner, they naturally booked a room.
Nami and Nojiko, who had returned to the riding the wind for ten thousand miles after finishing their shopping, saw that Huiye hadn’t returned for a long time and understood what he had gone to do.
Nami cursed angrily for a bit, then hugged Nojiko and went back to their room to rest.
