Online Game: I Have A 100\% Drop Rate
Chapter 486: There’s Always a Solution, MaxCharisma is Back
"So what do we do now?" Violet asked, "I don’t think we can do anything."
She tried to freeze the area around the gate to potentially break it, but the frost bounced off the gate, unable to even touch it.
"It almost feels like this spell just blocks any kind of magic from touching it."
"But then what?" Celeste stared at Leon, "Do we just go back and come back once we’re done with the Tower of Souls?"
"No..." Leon shook his head, "He said it himself, their plan is underway, and if we ever leave, they might find a way to make us unable to even enter the city. Don’t underestimate the power of the gods."
"But there’s no way for us to nullify this magic so..."
The moment he heard the word "nullify", Leon’s eyes widened as he realized something he had almost forgotten about entirely.
"Hold on..."
There was one specific item in his inventory that served this very purpose, and though he hadn’t used it all this time, perhaps keeping it had been an incredible decision after all.
Leon looked through his [Storage Space] and his gaze landed on the item sitting there quietly, waiting for a moment exactly like this one.
"Haha..." he grinned, "This might work."
Then he pulled it out.
[Magicless Core (Ascendant): A core that is able to completely distort the air around it to almost fully destroy Spirit, it will not fully work as intended now that it was separated from its owner, but perhaps it can be used for something else.]
"What’s that?" Violet asked while staring at the core in Leon’s hand, her eyes narrowing as she tried to figure out what he was planning, "Is it supposed to help us?"
"I hope," Leon nodded, "I obtained it from Higher Domain #3 after killing the Magicless Guardian."
As soon as she heard the word "Magicless", Violet quickly decided to check the name and description of the core for herself, and after reading through it, she understood exactly what Leon was thinking.
"Wow, this might... actually work."
"The Exiled Lands are a land where magic is extremely rare and almost impossible to use, and this orb is one of the main reasons why that place exists in the first place."
The description said it wouldn’t fully work as intended, but as long as it did its initial job of destroying magic, he didn’t care about the rest of what it was supposed to do.
And so, Leon asked the girls to back away, and once they did, he took a deep breath and threw the Magicless Core directly at the Divine Academy’s entrance with everything he had.
At first, it seemed like nothing was going to happen, as the core simply bumped against the magical circles and dropped to the ground like a useless rock.
But right as the group was about to move forward to grab it...
Fwoosh! BAM!
The Magicless Core began to glow, and everything around it began to distort, the core sucking the very air around it into itself.
It started floating into the air right before the magic circles, and slowly began to absorb them piece by piece as they started to evaporate like dust.
There was some kind of resistance at first, as if the magic itself was fighting back against what was happening.
But after a few seconds, the Magicless Core fully absorbed the magic, and then dropped to the ground once more.
"Bingo," Leon grinned as he moved forward, grabbing the glowing core and placing it back in his storage space.
Then with a powerful kick, he burst the door of Divine Academy wide open.
[You... nullified a magic granted by the God of Magic? How?]
Leon didn’t even bother answering that question, because there was nothing to say and nothing to explain.
He simply turned to the girls and gestured for them to follow him inside.
[You want to die? So be it, that’s too bad, Celestial, I really liked you.]
"Never did," Leon groaned, "I appreciate the items you gave me though."
Leon and the girls entered, and as soon as they did, they gazed forward and were met face to face with dozens of players standing in the hall.
All of them were students of Divine Academy who already knew what was happening and even wanted to be part of it, since this was their chance to prove themselves worthy in the eyes of the gods.
They wanted to gain power from the God of Magic or the God of War, and so they had been given the simple task of killing these intruders if they ever appeared before them.
"Here they are!" the man standing at the front of the group shouted, "Be careful!"
"Wait a second, I recognize that guy!" Celeste gasped.
"Same," Leon nodded.
Back when Celeste and Leon had arrived in Higher Domain #1 while Emilia was in Higher Domain #3 and they hadn’t even met Violet yet since she was stuck in her god-rank assessment, the two had arrived at Divine Academy City and then entered the Vine Plains after leaving it.
When they had been near the [Will of Nature’s Attack Zone] , they had seen that man, MaxCharisma, throw another goblin-race student into the attack zone just to test it out, resulting in that student’s death right in front of everyone.
Of course, it seemed like a minor interaction before, but Leon made sure to remember anyone who seemed too cruel, and so did Celeste it seemed.
MaxCharisma adjusted his glasses and then smiled, "You two," he pointed at Leon and Celeste, "I remember you. You were the ones who passed the Will of Nature’s Attack Zone without getting killed."
’Seems like he remembers us as well.’
"Unfortunately for you, I was blessed by the God of Magic and granted immense power, in fact, all of us were."
He gestured at all the students behind him, all of whom had furious expressions while gazing at Leon and the girls, looking like they were ready to tear them apart at any moment.
Though in this hall, neither Leon nor his group budged, all of them ready to fight and more than willing to finish what they had started.
