Chapter 488: The Girls’ First Kills, Finding The Teachers
Since Violet and Emilia’s [Slaughter Meter] was only at Tier-1, the only thing they got from killing these players was one item from their storage space.
It was a pretty disappointing reward but fitting based on how much effort they had just put into wiping out an entire hall of actual players, which was very little.
"They were kind of weak," Celeste, who had been standing at the back, spoke, "I wish I could have helped though."
"These items suck anyway," Violet grimaced as she stared at the useless item in her hand, "I might even throw them away."
"Yeah, they don’t have any good items..." Emilia shook her head, clearly just as unimpressed with what she had received.
But for Leon, who was currently Tier-3 and thus had the [Slayer III] title, the rewards were slightly better, though even then it wasn’t anything that would make him celebrate.
Ding!
[You have obtained three items from each player’s storage space.]
Ding!
[You have taken 5% of the player’s eternal coins.]
"Wow, they’re broke," Leon mumbled as he looked at his Eternal Coins increase, "Only 12,000 Eternal Coins from all of them."
After that, Leon quickly explained to the girls how [Slaughter Meter] and the [Slayer] titles worked.
Since neither of them really knew about the details of the system, and it was better they understood it now rather than later.
He also specified that the higher your [Slayer] title, the better the rewards for killing.
Though he made sure to tell them that if you ever reached 10,000 kills, the [Judgment Knight] would appear and that was a line nobody in their right mind wanted to cross.
"No matter what, don’t do it."
"Can’t we just kill that thing?" Emilia asked, "I mean, if it ever appears."
"Impossible," Leon shook his head, "That thing can even challenge the strongest foes in the Eternal Domain and kill them in one-shot."
"Wow."
Leon wasn’t lying, the Judgment Knight was simply far too strong, perhaps not at the level of the gods, but close enough that the difference hardly mattered in practice.
And the Judgment Knight was a neutral entity created by the Heavenly One, meaning that even the gods couldn’t attack it or the Heavenly One would act.
And even the gods didn’t want that kind of attention brought down on them.
"I guess they didn’t really need Eternal Coins since they were students of this academy," Violet shrugged.
That was the only explanation that made sense for why they were all so poor.
He actually didn’t even bother selling any of the items he obtained at the Trading House, after all, the name Celestial was now actually quite "prestigious" as most people expected him to put really powerful stuff in there whenever he listed something.
He simply threw the useless materials, weapons and other stuff out without a second thought, since there was no point in cluttering his storage with garbage.
The only thing he kept was a healing potion, which wasn’t that good as he had better ones anyway, but it never hurt to have a spare.
"Why didn’t you just teleport inside," Celeste asked as they moved forward, "Didn’t you once go to Dominik’s office?"
"Yeah," Leon nodded, "But I think they know I can teleport, so they might have expected that and created a trap that would kill us the moment we appeared."
Basically, Leon wasn’t taking his chances for something like that, especially when the girls were with him and he couldn’t guarantee their safety if something went wrong.
They proceeded through the halls of Divine Academy, which were completely empty, with no sign of anybody and no traps laid for any intruders who appeared.
Perhaps Dominik and the teachers truly didn’t expect them to get past the entrance’s magic barrier, which said a lot about how much faith they had.
’Their faith in the gods is so blind they truly believed nothing could counter what the God of Magic granted.’
Perhaps that was the most fatal flaw all these servants of the gods had, since they always trusted their god no matter what they did, no matter what they asked of them or what it cost them in the end.
Either way, Leon, Violet, Celeste and Emilia explored the academy for around half an hour, looking through the classrooms and different chambers, though there was nothing to find anywhere they looked.
"Do you think they’re inside?" Violet asked, readying herself.
"Who knows," Leon shrugged, "But since Divine Academy is so large, I’m guessing that the place where they are most likely at is either the chairman’s office or... this chamber."
Leon pushed the door, and for the first time, his eyes narrowed.
Inside the chamber were four figures, all of which were teachers of the academy.
"Found them," Leon grinned as he stared at them, "Be careful though."
All of the remaining teachers gazed at Leon with a cold expression, their weapons in hand and their aura flaring.
And yet, Leon didn’t even budge as he stared at them, the only thought he had was, ’Damn, they’re not that strong.’
He used his Eye of Truth to gaze upon each of their panels.

’Seems like Lotus is the only one with an S+ Talent, I’ll have to be careful about her, though I still think Emilia’s magic is much stronger.’
The teachers kept staring at Leon and the group, as if waiting for them to engage first, since they clearly had no intention of stepping out of the room they had prepared.
But in Leon’s mind, he simply looked around the chamber and wondered where the real threat was hiding.
"Where the hell is Dominik."
