Chapter 300: 300: I’m Sorry... Again.

They strolled through the tribe, admiring the beastmen sitting around the fire, playing games, and drinking.

They watched the teenage beastmen playing around the tribe while the elderly sat together, preparing more clothes for the little ones since Ayra’s children kept messing up the ones they already had.

The elderly beastmen seemed happy to make the clothes, and Ayra was extremely grateful for their kindness.

Ayra smiled as they continued strolling through the tribe until they eventually arrived at the stream. At night, the scenery was even more beautiful.

The full moon hung high in the sky, surrounded by glittering stars that seemed to dance around it. Their reflections shimmered across the surface of the water, creating a breathtaking sight.

The two stood there, gazing at the water for a while before Nyx offered Ayra a seat on a nearby rock.

"You can sit here so you don’t have to stand for too long. I’ll stand," he said gently.

Ayra smiled. "What a gentle cat."

She sat down, admiring the scenery for a while as she wondered how to start their conversation.

Taking advantage of the moment, Ayra checked the wild cat’s affection level to see where things stood between them.

[Wild Cat: 60%]

Ayra smiled. That was something worth working with. At least his affection hadn’t dropped over the past few days and had remained steady.

However, it hadn’t increased either, which meant nothing significant had happened between them. She would have to work towards changing that.

"I’m sorry," Ayra finally said after a while of silence.

Nyx turned towards her. "Why are you apologizing...?"

Ayra smiled as she gazed at the shimmering water. "I guess I’ll keep apologizing for what I did to you back when you were captured. I had no right to be so pathetic and cruel to you... I still feel bad about it."

She turned to look at him. "Even if you haven’t fully forgiven me in your heart, I’ll understand. I was really pathetic... and stupid. I’ll keep apologizing because I still feel guilty about it."

Ayra still felt guilty that Nyx had been willing to forgive her despite everything he had gone through at the hands of the former villainess. She couldn’t help but feel that she had treated him terribly back then.

Nyx folded his arms as he replied, "You’ve done more good than the evil you did to me. You also healed me and helped everyone, so I’ve already forgiven you. There’s no need to keep apologizing."

Ayra smiled at him. "Thanks..."

Her smile was radiant, complementing her already beautiful appearance. Beneath the full moon, Ayra looked so dazzling that Nyx felt his cheeks heat up, forcing him to look away. He still wasn’t used to her appearance, after all.

"So, what are we now? Friends?" Ayra asked with a smile. "Or... mates?"

Nyx scoffed. "Mates? There’s nothing between us at all..."

"We’ve already done it, remember?" Ayra reminded him.

Nyx immediately froze as the memory resurfaced. His cheeks flushed, and he cleared his throat, realizing he had almost forgotten about that.

"That..." He struggled to find the right words.

But Ayra simply smiled. "You don’t have to rush yourself. Take your time, and I’ll take my time winning you over too."

Nyx stared at her in surprise. "What do you mean by that...?"

Ayra smiled sweetly. "Well, I guess I want to make you my mate. I want to have you, so I’ll work towards that."

Her openness and directness left Nyx completely speechless. He could only sit there staring at her in disbelief.

"How can a female openly say something like that...? That’s a man’s job! He’s supposed to be the one to express his feelings directly. How can you just say that...?" Nyx stammered, growing increasingly shy under Ayra’s bold declaration.

Ayra smiled. "I don’t care. I’ll say whatever I want to, and you should get ready for me too."

She grinned, thoroughly enjoying teasing him and watching his reactions.

Nyx cleared his throat and looked away, placing both hands behind him as he muttered, "You’re shameless..."

Ayra laughed before turning her gaze back towards the water. The two sat beneath the full moon, admiring its reflection as she spoke again.

"I want to get to know you better, at least... Do you mind telling me about yourself?"

Nyx remained quiet for a while, surprised by her question.

He was also strangely moved.

This was the first time anyone had ever asked to know more about him. No one had ever shown such an interest in understanding him, and the realization touched him more than he expected.

"There’s nothing interesting about me at all, so you don’t need to know anything..." he eventually replied, staring down at the shimmering water. "I’m not that interesting..."

But Ayra turned to look at him. "And who says so? I think you’re super interesting! I like you a lot, and I want to know more about you."

She smiled as she continued, "I find your strange and unique abilities admirable and reliable. Someone might think you’re just an A-rank beastman, but your powers are far beyond that. It’s always amazing to think about."

Ayra paused briefly before continuing to list the things she liked about him.

"Plus, even though everyone thinks you’re cold and ruthless, you’re actually quite sweet and cute too. You have this soft side that I quite like."

She added, "And you’re hardworking, good-looking, and hot. You also learn things quickly. You’re pretty much amazing, so why would you think you’re not interesting enough to learn about?"

Ayra found herself rattling off all the things she had come to appreciate about him, and Nyx couldn’t help feeling moved by her words.

He stood there listening, his heart fluttering at her statements.

This was the first time someone had openly admitted to liking these sides of him, especially the parts he had always felt insecure about. These were the very things he had thought made him unlovable, the traits that convinced him he was nothing more than a monster.

Yet Ayra had just told him that those were the very things she liked about him.

His heart fluttered as he blinked, struggling to process her words.

After a while, he finally spoke.

"You’re the first person..."

Ayra turned to look at him. "The first person? To do what?"

Nyx met her gaze, their eyes locking beneath the moonlight.

"You’re the first female to say that she wants to make me her mate..."
