Chapter 319 - 317: Evil Spirits, Begone Swiftly

Tangtang’s voice had changed pitch. It no longer sounded like a five-year-old child’s; instead, it alternated between shrill and deep, as if several different people were taking turns speaking.

"It hurts... It hurts so much... Don’t hit me!"

"I’m so hungry... I want food... Give me meat!"

"Ah... This body is mine. Get out of here!"

The voice was laced with fear and anger, brimming with agony. Hearing it was enough to make one’s blood run cold and send shivers down their spine.

Hearing the noise, Tangtang’s parents rushed in. Seeing her daughter in such a state, Fu Yaning’s eyes instantly welled up with tears. She threw herself at the bedside, trying to hold down her daughter’s hands, but was nearly thrown off by the tiny arms. The five-year-old possessed shocking strength. A swing of her arm even whipped up a gust of wind.

"Tangtang! Tangtang, wake up!" Fu Yaning’s voice was choked with sobs.

Yang Xun reached out and grabbed Tangtang’s wrist. From his fingertips, a stream of gentle True Qi flowed into her meridians, temporarily suppressing the restless power. But the moment he let go, Tangtang’s body began to convulse violently again.

"Help me hold her down," Yang Xun said in a low voice.

Tang Qingquan and his son, Tang Zhen, stepped forward together, combining their strength to pin down Tangtang’s shoulders and arms. Tangtang’s strength was even greater than it had been during the day. Even with three people holding her down, it was a struggle. A dark, bruised aura was spreading across her pale little face, as if something were trying to possess her body.

Zhao Linglong stood a few steps away, her hands clutching the hem of her clothes tightly. Her amber eyes reflected a scene invisible to everyone else. Biting her lip, her voice trembled slightly as she said, "They are burrowing into her body... fighting over her body..."

"From which direction?" Yang Xun asked without turning his head.

"Everywhere! They’re all around!"

Yang Xun hesitated no longer. He reached into his portable medical box with his right hand and took out his silver needles. "Take off her clothes. I need to apply an acupuncture technique on her."

As soon as he spoke, the expressions of the three members of the Tang family changed. After all, Tangtang was a little girl, and it was inappropriate for her male elders to undress her.

Zhao Linglong bit her lip and took a step forward, her voice trembling. "I’ll do it."

"Are you sure you can?" Yang Xun asked, a little worried. After all, Zhao Linglong possessed the Yin-Yang Eye, which meant she could clearly see the Yin Souls lurking around Tangtang. She was already timid by nature and had a weak constitution, making her highly susceptible to corruption by the Yin Souls.

"I have the Amulet you gave me. I’ll be fine," Zhao Linglong said firmly. The Amulet had been drawn by Yang Xun using his own blood. It was folded, threaded with a red string, and worn close to her body.

"Alright. Be careful." Yang Xun nodded, his gaze fixed closely on Zhao Linglong.

While Tang Qingquan and his son pinned down Tangtang’s limbs, Zhao Linglong and Fu Yaning worked quickly to strip off the girl’s clothes. Seeing the Yin Souls converging around them, Zhao Linglong shuddered in fear. However, the Yin Souls seemed to sense something terrifying. They merely gathered for two seconds before rapidly scattering. Joy swelled in her heart; it seemed the Amulet truly worked, meaning she wouldn’t have to be afraid of Yin Souls anymore.

"Xun, you can start the acupuncture technique now," Zhao Linglong said softly.

Yang Xun nodded and sat cross-legged by the bed. Pinching a silver needle between his fingertips, he slowly channeled his True Qi into it. With a flick of his fingers, the silver needle landed with pinpoint accuracy on the Baihui Acupoint atop Tangtang’s head.

"Nine Yang Evil-Breaking Needle, activate!"

It was not Yang Xun’s first time executing this acupuncture technique, but the Nine Yang Evil-Breaking Needle was highly unpredictable. Different ailments required different application methods and sequences. As he pondered, several slender silver needles had already accurately pierced several critical acupoints: the Danzhong, Qimen, Zhangmen, and Mingmen acupoints.

One by one, the silver needles were inserted into crucial acupoints. At the same time, Yang Xun poured his vigorous True Qi into her meridians like floodwaters rushing through an opened dam. This warm power resembled a surging torrent, instantly sweeping through the areas in Tangtang’s body occupied by Yin energy, forcing it back layer by layer.

Tangtang’s body suddenly arched, and a shrill, inhuman screech tore from her lips. The sound was entirely unlike anything a little girl could produce. It was a cacophony of several different voices echoing in the quiet room, enough to make one’s scalp tingle.

"Evil entities, scatter at once!" Yang Xun let out a low shout as the True Qi in his palms erupted once more. An invisible wave of golden energy rippled outward with him at the epicenter.

While the others could see nothing, Zhao Linglong witnessed the blurry figures being blown apart by the energy wave, drifting backward like scraps of paper caught in the wind. A few of them even shattered outright, dissolving into wisps of black mist that faded into the air. The Yin energy in the room instantly dispersed, and the temperature even seemed to warm up a fraction.

Tangtang’s body suddenly went slack, collapsing limply onto the bed. Her eyes were closed, and though her breathing remained rapid, the agonizing, tearing pain from earlier had vanished.

"Dr. Yang, how is Tangtang...?" Fu Yaning asked, her voice trembling.

"She’s stabilized for now," Yang Xun said, withdrawing his hand. A fine layer of sweat had broken out on his forehead. "Those things were trying to steal her body just now. I’ve forced them back, but I haven’t solved the problem at its root."

As he spoke, he gave a wave of his large hand, and the silver needles stuck in Tangtang’s body were instantly retracted. Fu Yaning’s eyes widened, and she looked at Yang Xun in surprise. Initially, she had thought this young man might be unreliable and had only let him try out of desperation, but now, she was utterly convinced of his abilities.

Before Yang Xun could speak, Zhao Linglong had already pulled up the blanket and covered Tangtang. Fu Yaning clutched the corner of the blanket tightly, terrified that her daughter would be snatched away by the Yin Souls again the moment she let go.

Tang Zhen’s expression shifted slightly. As the current head of the Tang family, he had always been steady and composed, but right now, his voice carried an almost imperceptible edge of urgency. "Dr. Yang, how can we solve this completely?"

Yang Xun did not answer immediately. Instead, he turned to look at Zhao Linglong, who was standing by the door. Zhao Linglong’s complexion looked much better than before, though it was still tinged with a faint pallor. A lingering trace of terror remained in her amber eyes, but she managed to steady herself when she met Yang Xun’s gaze.

"Those things... are still in the courtyard. They haven’t gone far. I can feel them."

Yang Xun withdrew his gaze and looked at Tang Qingquan and Tang Zhen, his tone turning a notch more serious. "Tangtang was born on the Mid-Autumn Festival and possesses an Extreme Yin Physique. Influenced by external circumstances, it’s inevitable she would attract foul entities."

In truth, Tangtang and Zhao Linglong’s physiques were somewhat similar. The difference was that Zhao Linglong’s condition was primarily caused by the Origin Qi wreaking havoc inside her body, which was why she had nearly died of illness. Tangtang, on the other hand, was having her body fought over by several Yin Souls. These Yin Souls treated her as a vessel, and all of them wanted to possess this body. However, explaining this to the Tangs would be pointless; it would only terrify them.

The room fell silent for a moment. Fu Yaning swayed on her feet, and Tang Zhen quickly reached out to support her. Although Tang Qingquan managed to remain standing, the knuckles of the hand gripping his cane had turned white.
