Others Summon, I Forge Beast Armor

Chapter 199: Crucible [II]

  • Next Chapter

Roselyn quickly summoned her beast because Vivian was too intense, raising concerns, as applying excessive pressure was Vivian’s strategy to win the Crucible.

FWOOSH!

Roselyn’s beast, the Herculean Octopus, is undoubtedly some kind of Hercules entity, as it is one of the largest summons in this summoner world by size—base size.

Some summons can become larger under specific conditions or activations, so the sizes that Roselyn’s beast can achieve must be formidable.

In its base state, it is the size of a ship, making it 20 times larger than Vivian’s beast, the Seraph Leaper, despite the Seraph Leaper being a "giant" rabbit.

However, Vivian took this with a grain of salt, as it was not uncommon for smaller things to defeat larger ones.

Moreover, what she saw was not something 20 times bigger, but something 20 times slower.

A leviathan of such size must be very slow, so during the few seconds it took Roselyn to summon it, Vivian had multiple opportunities to attack, and thus attacked multiple times.

"Heavenly Crescent!" Vivian roared to her beast.

The rabbit flew towards Roselyn, who was keeping her distance, then turned around and used its powerful hind legs to carve an arc in the air, launching a crescent-shaped blade of light.

Whoosh!

Roselyn squinted her eyes and gritted her teeth, determining that the Heavenly Crescent could break through her bubble.

However, if she invests more Aeon to maintain the bubble, Roselyn can withstand the Heavenly Crescent from the Seraph Leaper up to five times until a crack appears.

But...

Before Roselyn could channel more Aeon, she remembered her unborn children

Doing this... was risky.

BOOM!

CRACK!

Her bubble shattered as Heavenly Crescent struck it without mercy and without giving her time to decide, leaving Roselyn tumbling across the battlefield.

Vivian yelled, permitting her no respite! "Peaches! Seraphic Light Lance!"

The Seraph Leaper, clad in dazzling silver light, a long spear of light forged.

Caught off guard, Roselyn was struck by the Seraph Leaper’s Seraphic Light Spear defenselessly, knocking her back to the center of the battlefield.

Vivian didn’t stop; so the attacks kept raining down on Roselyn, leaving her with little time to recover from each one.

Had Roselyn not possessed formidable passive-defense and extraordinary constitution, anyone else would likely have been torn to shreds by Vivian’s beast.

Even so, Roselyn was not unscathed as bruises appeared on her skin, and the repeated impacts left her in a miserable state.

The onlookers were dumbfounded!

The elders of the Silver Order exchanged bewildered glances, as they thought Vivian would be overwhelmed, but instead, it was Roselyn suffering the most.

Eventually, Roselyn was reunited with her beast—after having been tossed around like a rag doll by Vivian’s beast.

But Vivian’s beast made a mistake of allowing Rosalyn to reunite with the Hercules octopus.

Witnessing this, Vivian and the Seraph Leaper joined forces in an attempt to inflict more on Roselyn, but Roselyn seized the opportunity and was determined to make the most of it.

"Grogon! While I’m regaining my strength, capture them!" she instructed.

Roar!

Roselyn’s beast extended its eleven legs, grabbing Vivian and the Seraph Leaper as they flew through the air and slamming them to the ground.

"Storm Strike!" Roselyn commanded the colossal beast, the Hercules Octopus took a deep breath, releasing lightning from its core throughout its body, and the lightning traveled through its tentacles.

However, Vivian severed the tentacle holding her and successfully broke free; at the same time, "Storm Strike" struck her rabbit, and that blow alone dealt the Seraph Leaper a level of damage she had never witnessed before.

BLAST!

An enraged Vivian struck the tentacle gripping the Seraph Leaper, successfully freeing it, but the Seraph Leaper was too injured by the lightning burns.

"Peaches, ’Radiant Restoration’!" Vivian ordered and erected a dome-shaped barrier around to protect them from the Herculean Octopus, which was attacking with its tentacles.

Meanwhile, Roselyn was safely tending to her wounds and recovering, and with every passing second, Vivian felt frustrated, as this would render her painstaking efforts to overwhelm Roselyn futile.

So, as soon as the Seraph Leaper finished stitching up its wounds, Vivian dismissed the done; after, the Seraph Leaper unleashed a Light Beam Kick, knocking away two Herculean Octopus tentacles that descended upon them, giving it and its summoner a chance to re-enter the battlefield.

"Meteor Splash, one more time!" Vivian shouted, taking advantage of the sessile nature of the Herculean Octopus, which was vulnerable to attacks like a meteor splash!

The Seraph Leaper unleashed Meteor Splash for the second time in battle, aimed at this Ancient-grade creature, confident that it would incapacitate it.

However, the Herculean Octopus possesses regenerative abilities, allowing it to partially regrow its body.

As a result, attacks like Meteor Splash cannot destroy most.

So, the octopus’s limbs destroyed by Meteor Splash grew back.

"Well done, Grogon," Roselyn whispered to her beast using the Spirit Link innate skill.

She restored herself and cast another bubble around herself, this time putting in a bit more aeon, still remaining vigilant for the unborn child within her.

"They are fast and swift. Grogon, the Eightfold Coordination passive now... With higher precision, you can effortlessly catch that firefly. As for you, Vivian..."

Rosaline raised her blue sword, her face filled with hatred for her approaching niece.

"You are mine!" Vivian shouted as she landed vehemently, unleashing a burst of sparks, so divine, yet it couldn’t break through Roselyn’s new shield.

Roselyn, like a trained warrior, quickly grabbed her wrist, twisted Vivian’s arm, struck her abdomen with her knee, hit the hilt of the sword against the side of Vivian’s head, and severed one of Vivian’s arms with the sword.

However, Vivian’s arm did not fall off.

It turned out that Vivian used a skill at the critical moment to replace her arm with feathers, which scattered in surrender to Roselyn’s sword.

Once Roselyn realized she did not sever her niece’s arm, Roselyn grabbed Vivian, but Vivian escaped using her wings.

However, Roselyn used Echo to materialize four tentacles as arms, grabbing Vivian in mid-air and dragging her back, tearing off her wings in the process.

"Argh," Vivian groaned, staggering to her feet, only to feel Roselyn’s blade pierce her abdomen, and Rosalyn withdrew the sword.

Roselyn lifted her sky-high with seven tentacles extended from her body, while Vivian bled from her abdomen, struggling against the restraints of such tentacles.

At the last moment, she whispered, "Beast Position Swap," to save herself.
