Others Summon, I Forge Beast Armor
Chapter 202: Beast Union Technique
A convoy of black SUVs speeding through the streets of New Florence, catching the attention of pedestrians and drivers.
At the front of the convoy was a luxurious armoured SUV, with exterior gleaming and shining in the moonlight and Neon lights of the streets it navigated.
Inside the vehicle is Duke Cedric Kingsley, the head of the Kingsley family, who had finally returned from his pilgrimage, his destination being the Kingsley Estate.
Other vehicles in the convoy followed closely, engines roaring, as the convoy made its way down the avenue leading to the estate, where seven generations of the Kingsley family had resided.
Duke Cedric Kingsley, who actually returned earlier than scheduled because his pilgrimage was supposed to last a few more days.
However, the expedition against the apocalypse encountered too many unexpected enemies and unforeseen complications, forcing the great summoners to reconsider their approach.
The situation was more complicated than they had anticipated, and continuing without good preparation may lead to needless casualties.
Therefore, Cedric and the other summoners decided it was best to rest, replenish resources, and devise new strategies before continuing their campaign, in lieu of stubbornly pressing forward, inasmuch as even the strongest warriors need time to prepare.
Duke Cedric Kingsley said, "The situation outside is getting worse."
When he heard the Chief Premier speak through the phone. T
"Indeed," the Chief Premier replied. "The apocalypse has occupied so many areas. Fortunately, we have managed to control the situation and prevent it from causing panic among the people."
Cedric nodded in agreement, understanding the importance of public order, because if people lose trust in their leaders, the consequences could be as disastrous as a monster.
The Chief Premier said, "However, there is an interesting development. A specific tree grew in an arcade in a slum. According to our report, this tree possesses extraordinary abilities. Monsters avoid it, corruption cannot approach it, and even those creatures already affected by the apocalypse seem reluctant to come near it."
"A tree?"
"Yes. We have yet to understand the mechanisms behind its abilities, but its effects are undeniable."
An extraordinary tree... Neither of them knew that this tree was planted by Luke Kingsley using the powers of the Olympian Serpent, and its extraordinary abilities were no coincidence, as the power of the Olympian Serpent endowed it with the properties to resist the corruption spreading through the world!
Cedric said, "Interesting. We should investigate. If we can understand how it works, maybe we can replicate its effects. Have your people check its leaves too. They might have medicinal properties that can treat mutations caused by the apocalypse. We should not overlook any possibility that might help us cope with this disaster."
"I will make the necessary arrangements," the Chief Premier replied.
Their conversation lasted a few minutes until the convoy arrived at the estate, bringing Duke Cedric Kingsley home.
As soon as Duke Cedric Kingsley disembarked, the estate’s servants and guards gathered together to welcome him home earlier than expected, saying, "Welcome home, My Lord!"
Cedric nodded in response to their greetings, but his eyes searched the crowd for more familiar faces like his family.
But none of his family members came out to welcome him.
By now, they should know about his early return.
Yes, Raven and Vivian have stopped greeting him, but Cedric’s wife, Roselyn, is steadfast.
Roselyn welcomes him home under any circumstances.
So, her absence is surprising even though he came back a bit earlier.
"Where is the Duchess?" Cedric asked a guard and asked again when he noticed the guard’s sullen face. "I asked you a question. Where is she?"
The guard stammered.
"M-My Lord, Madam Roselyn is currently in a fight."
"Fighting? With whom?"
"Lady Vivian, My Lord," the guard answered nervously.
Cedric is frozen for a moment as he struggles to understand what he just heard.
Soon, anger bubbled in his veins, and he stormed ahead, demanding where they were fighting.
"Take me there without delay!"
When Cedric arrived on the battlefield, the battle was at its climax.
His eyes widened when he saw Vivian confronting Roselyn with Supreme State, and he darkened with rage because his daughter was gaining the upper hand against his wife and may kill her
Then, he noticed the witnesses and sacred markings around the battlefield, which made him realise it was a Crucible and his anger increased manifold.
He thought, how could Vivian challenge Roselyn to a Crucible while she was pregnant?
He doubted whether his daughter understood the consequences of such a fight!
Roselyn is pregnant with twins, and overexerting herself will have consequences; even winning the Crucible might cost her the lives of her unborn children.
However, neither side seems willing to back down, so Cedric wonders what more happened during his absence.
Someone shouted, "The Duke is here!"
Then another person shouted, "Your Excellency!"
Then, the elders stood up from their seats without hesitation, their expressions changing accordingly.
Adrian turned around in surprise, wondering how his father could have returned so early.
Raven was also surprised because their father was expected to return in a few days.
Meanwhile, Cedric, seething with anger, scanned everyone and everything.
"Are you all insane?" Let my wife and daughter fight to the death, and you sit here and watch?"
Lord Whitmore approached him and said, "Senior Brother, the Crucible is a sacred tradition of the Silver Order. Lady Vivian challenged her aunt, and we must abide—"
"Tradition?" Cedric interrupted. "I am the Silver Order! I say this ends here! Since Vivian has forgotten her place, I will personally teach her a lesson!"
"Father, no!" Raven shouted as her father entered the Grey Field, but he was unmoved by her desperate call.
Meanwhile... in the fight..
The Seraph Leaper, still glowing in its supreme state, gathering the remaining temporal and spatial power within, and then a dazzling light spear appears before it.
"Seraphic Light Lance! Release!"
Then the rabbit attacked Grogon, determined to end the battle before Vivian completely lost consciousness.
Secondly, before the light spear was about to strike Roselyn, aura descended upon the battlefield, trembling the ground.
Everyone turned to the newcomer, and Vivian’s eyes widened, wondering who had the audacity to interrupt a Crucible.
"Father?" She whispered, her glowing eyes widening.
And Roselyn was also stunned because her husband had returned.
Cedric Kingsley stands, silver hair dripping onto his forehead, broad shoulders exuding an aura of authority, his face filled with anger as he summoned his beasts, placing them between Roselyn and the impending attack.
Cedric is one of the few summoners who have more than one summon.
This is rare, because having a bond with one beast demands resources, effort, and much more, so having more than one bond presents a challenge.
Cedric, like his daughters, is an Elder-grade summoner, but his situation is different because he possesses two Elder-grade summons.
Usually, a summoner nurtures one summon with all their resources.
However, after Cedric awakened two summons, his resources were dispersed, making the evolution of each summon more difficult.
Therefore, despite Cedric’s experience and power, his two summons remain Elder-grade.
However, two Elder-grade summons are still better than one low-level Ancient-grade summon. Why do you think Cedric remains the head of the family, while his wife possesses an Ancient-grade summon?
The first beast is the Silverstorm DireWolf, a wolf of great size with silver fur.
Sharp claws and lightning flow through its body with fierce eyes.
Dark clouds above its head, signs of its affinity for wind and lightning.
Next to it circles the great Great Azure Wyrm, a magnificent serpent displaying ice scales as it spirals through the air, emanating so much aura that everyone cannot help but hold their breath in awe.
Such a combination is intimidating.
The combined power of these two beasts is enough to threaten Mythic-grade dragons.
Therefore, Vivian’s heart sank.
What chance did she have if Cedric entered the Supreme State with two summons?
Two Elder-grade summons in the Supreme State against her beast, even if she was in the Supreme State. That would be too much for her beast to handle, so she did not see how she could win.
However, Cedric didn’t need to enter Supreme State to deal with her.
Employing Beast Union technique....
Silver Storm Wolf and the Great Azure Wyrm merged magically and transformed into something new while flaunting lightning and ice everywhere.
Beast Union combines more than one summon into one entity.
Therefore, the abilities of each beast is multiplied with the ability of the other.
So, the beasts merged by Cedric were on par with the Supreme State Seraph Leaper—the Heaven-Awakened Hare.
This means Cedric already puts Vivian in danger without entering Supreme State himself.
"Beast Union Technique! Silver Storm DireWolf and Great Azure Wyrm combine!"
The two beasts merged and revealed an unprecedented hybrid.
The hybrid had the body of a flying serpent, the head of a wolf, and strong forelimbs, along with the appearance of a dragon, with silver lightning dancing on its blue scales.
Then, Cedric commanded without mercy to his daughter, "Cryokinesis!"
This union of the direwolf and the wyrm birthed three flames of ice and blue fire with the intention of causing great harm to Vivian and her beast.
