Others Summon, I Forge Beast Armor
Chapter 208: Business, Completed Mega Shop [I]
Recently, New Florence has been unusually quiet and peaceful.
New Florence is not known for this level of tranquility, so Luke, a true citizen of the city, sensed this atmosphere.
According to him, this sense of tranquility felt artificial.
Someone or some people must be trying to ensure that the city’s residents do not panic too much about the impending apocalypse, so they have taken measures to enforce tranquility.
Luke thought it was a good idea but warned those responsible not to be surprised if people reacted angrily to their attempts to help them when things crumble.
Luke’s thoughts returned to the conversation in the car with Lin Moon.
He had to admit that this woman was a sage. She showed him the wisdom of strategic compromise and risk management.
Know when to choose your battles, or you’ll find yourself attacking your own castle.
"Miss Moon, I greatly appreciate your counsel. Is there any position I can specifically reserve for you?" Luke said.
Lin Moon replied, "Such positions include lawyers, personal assistants, managers, and consultants, and you will soon fill all of them. As your partner, Blackstone Group ensures that hiring employees will not be a problem for you. In fact, you should take a look at the number of early requests."
"Sigh, I guess anyone from Blackstone would be good enough. I assume these employees are all experienced and efficient, because Blackstone’s success is unparalleled."
"You won’t be disappointed," Lin Moon replied.
Lin Moon’s glasses suddenly reflected so many windows that they almost made her eyes glow. Soon, the car was engulfed in shadows, taking half a minute to emerge from the shadows.
Luke didn’t need to be told they were nearing his super workshop.
Done—ready, but not quite ready. But it’s done.
To prepare for operations, items such as furniture, non-fixed equipment (like conveyor belts fixed to the building), and appliances must be moved in, but without these, Luke’s mega workshop was a giant white-painted building, comparable in scale to the Confederacy headquarters...
Soon, they got out of the car, were allowed to enter the property, and met some of the workers there, whose job was to install more appliances, as mentioned earlier. Therefore, these appliances can be seen on the floor of the site, still wrapped in new nylon bags or cardboard boxes, unopened, including air conditioners of various sizes, toilets, sinks, switches, etc.
The appearance and smell of the new items gave Luke a strange sense of satisfaction, so he kept smiling throughout the visit.
Soon, another car drove into the premises, and it was very luxurious, indicating that this was not an ordinary person.
Unexpectedly, Mr. Blackstone personally came to check on Luke’s progress, as Lin Moon had informed him that Luke could meet in person. Loki Blackstone, less busy, agreed to come here to let everyone inspect the large shop together.
"Mr. Blackstone, I didn’t expect it to be you," Luke said, extending his hand to the man wearing a well-tailored emerald green suit.
"You’ve come this far, and I didn’t want to be just another guest at the opening ceremony, so as soon as I heard you would be here, I decided to come over," Loki replied warmly, shaking Luke’s hand. "I believe you will enjoy the fruits of your hard work. Lin Moon told me how you worked hard to raise funds instead of getting the money from me again. You really deserve this."
"Thank you, Mr. Blackstone, but don’t just praise me," Luke said. "If it weren’t for your initial help, none of this would have been possible, not even the idea of this workshop’s scale."
Mr. Blackstone gently bowed his head.
Mr. Blackstone knew he still contributed most to the mega shop, but he didn’t want Luke to thank him too much. This boy deserves everything he can give, and he owes this boy even more, while Luke thinks the opposite.
Mr. Blackstone pointed to the inside. "Please, let’s go in."
When they walked in, a spacious and bright hall appeared before them, with polished white floors extending from one end to the other, reflecting the lights from the ceiling.
Several rows of concrete desks stand in the center, each with a smooth surface, a computer terminal, and neatly arranged files.
The small signs indicate the function of each desk, which are procurement, sales, order registration, and payment processing.
Outside the counter, there is a waiting area, so wide, that will soon have benches separated by aisles.
The aisles will extend to the end of the hall, and even with hundreds of customers present, it hardly feels crowded.
Several doors stand along both sides of the hall, each bearing simple inscriptions.
The services offered in the rooms these doors lead to include customer service, complaints, specific orders, private consultations, and product inspections.
Some rooms are larger than regular offices because they are designed to accommodate customers and their summons/ beasts.
For the same reason, the doors are very tall and wide, equipped with strong frames to withstand accidental impacts.
The hallways are designed similarly, with ceilings many meters above the ground.
There is also enough open space between the counter and the waiting area, so even if two territorial beasts encounter each other, they cannot put everyone else in inconvenience, and their summoners would have enough space and time to intervene.
Remembering correctly...
Luke’s supershop was originally a warehouse complex, some parts were demolished, and some were preserved, so the superstore is very intricate.
This is quite an advantage because it helps distinguish between the customer area and the work area.
For example, this area is entirely for customers.
People come here with their summons, requesting what kind of beast armor they want, or if they are here to order something more specific.
Now, in the other parts of this mega shop, there is the storage area, then the actual work area, and finally the office area.
Therefore, after this customer area, they enter the storage area through a skybridge, just like the workers would do when bringing the armor that customers have successfully paid for back to the customer area to give to the customer.
The storage area of this large workshop is indeed specifically designed for storage, where the Beast Armor and Luke’s Dimensional items will be kept.
So this is the place where he stores thousands upon thousands of items, making this storage area disgustingly large!
It will also accommodate stored tools, appliances, and equipment...
Since the storage area simultaneously stores finished beast armor ready for sale and spare tools, appliances, and equipment, it makes the storage area a perfect section that seamlessly connects to the forging/work area they will visit next.
Customer area → Storage area → Forge/Work area → Office area.
Luke was very satisfied with this layout.
