Chapter 1514: Chapter 1514: A Gentleman’s Duel

"Hey! Your opponents are us!"

At this point, both sides were at a point of no return, with Urban leading his men towards Pei Yan. Aleister and Hecate couldn’t just sit by and watch; they charged forward as well. According to the battle allocation beforehand, Pei Jin and the others couldn’t let them form another siege on Pei Yan. So, regardless of the leaders of the three major associations, Pei Jin shouted, leading Xia Yu and Zheng Jia Ru into the crowd, splitting the opponents’ charge into two segments.

Meanwhile, Hu Jiu and Gu Shenghui also forced their respective opponents back to their formations. The battlefield was swiftly divided into three sections: one led by Aleister against Pei Yan, another where the five remaining members of the Investigation Hall faced eleven top Heavenly Dao experts, and on the periphery of these battle zones, the other members of the Investigation Hall faced Council City’s Heavenly Dao experts. Neither side chose to make a move, instead balancing each other out, awaiting a change in the battle before deciding whether to join or intercept.

"Didn’t expect we’d meet again!" Bedivere looked at Xia Yu blocking his path, sighed, and chuckled bitterly. During the Sword Discussion Conference, he upheld knightly spirit and chose to battle Xia Yu one-on-one, despite having the chance to end her three-on-one, ultimately losing due to being a soul body. At that time, they made a pact: if given another chance, Bedivere hoped to face a more grown Xia Yu at his peak. Unexpectedly, that day came so soon.

For this reason, although Xia Yu suffered greatly in that fight, she didn’t hate Bedivere; instead, she respected him. Seeing him among the resurrected Round Table Knights, she took the initiative to challenge him to fulfill their previous agreement.

"Yes, things are quite mysterious! I didn’t expect to meet you again this soon. This time, I’m ready to face three opponents simultaneously, and you needn’t hold anything back," Xia Yu said, shaking her hands and assuming an offensive stance towards him.

"Heh, I won’t hold back either! Boss! Lanmalok! Lanloste! They all died at your hands. Despite some past unpleasantness between us, we have fought life-and-death battles together; they were my best brothers!" Bedivere said as he slowly pulled down his helmet’s visor to hide the endless sorrow on his face. He then lifted his head and said to Xia Yu with righteous indignation, "We, who have died countless times, have long looked past death! On the battlefield, we clash due to interests, not personal vengeance! But today, what your companions did outside Council City is an unforgivable crime! I won’t show any mercy to such demons and their accomplices!"

"Debating who’s right and who’s wrong is meaningless now, attack! You and your companions should join forces!" By this time, Xia Yu no longer bothered to argue for Pei Yan and directly gestured a challenge to Bedivere.

"Wait!" At this moment, Gu Shenghui halted both sides, addressing Bedivere, "In this battle, Xia Yu will engage you one-on-one!"

"Gu Chu!" Xia Yu was startled and objected.

"That’s my order! In the Sword Discussion Conference, your opponent gave you a fair duel and set an agreement. Now fulfill it with a fair fight!" Gu Shenghui said, looking over his other subordinates with a smile, "Pei Yan took one out beforehand, reducing our engagement slots! Pei Jin and I remain unchanged facing three, Hu Jiu and Zheng Jia Ru face two each, and Xia Yu, you will battle Bedivere fairly! Don’t think I’m underestimating you! Though the numbers are fewer, I demand you complete it swiftly and then support us! Can you do that?"

"Ten minutes! Give me ten minutes, and I’ll definitely defeat him!" Xia Yu promised, clenching her fists.

On the other side of the battlefield, mocking laughter erupted from Gerald, another Round Table Knight, who sneered at Bedivere: "Did you hear that? That little girl said she’d settle you in ten minutes! Bedivere, you better hold on for ten minutes!" Gerald then turned his head toward the Investigation Hall’s camp, grinning fiercely, "Because I really want to see who among you can survive ten minutes under the assault of three top Heavenly Dao experts. Don’t worry, Bedivere; we’ll swiftly deal with this one and come to aid you."

Bedivere wasn’t angered by his companion’s mockery but instead questioned Gu Shenghui, "Who are you?"

"I’m the one who once sent Xia Yu alone against three Round Table Knights, the commander you called trash for sacrificing teammates, and now I’m willing to battle so Xia Yu gets a fair duel with you, leaving this world with honor and no regrets," Gu Shenghui responded confidently.

"I hope you won’t regret your arrogant decision because this time we won’t show mercy due to your seemingly noble yet foolish choice," Bedivere said, glancing at Gerald, "Three against one! You better finish quickly!"

"Don’t worry!"

"Thunder Realm!" Faced with Gerald charging in, Bedivere executed his killer move right away! Xia Yu conjured countless needles about the thickness of chopsticks, unleashing them in a fan formation powered by electromagnetic forces at all opponents ahead.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

No sooner had the fight begun than an intense exchange of blows ensued, with over ten figures intertwining in deadly combat in the air.

Compared to Xia Yu and Bedivere’s fiery interaction after a brief exchange of words, Pei Yan’s camp, expected to be the centerpiece, seemed unusually calm. As Urban charged at Pei Yan, he regained the calmness expected of a master. Along with the arrived Aleister and Hecate, they surrounded Pei Yan in a triangular formation.

In the present circumstance, neither side had anything more to say. The delay in engaging was due to none finding a flaw in Pei Yan, seeking the best opportunity to strike.

"Pei Yan, is it wise for you to just stand there? Your companions are already engaged with our people! Do you truly believe that they have, like you, the strength to match three Holy Mage-level masters one-on-one? In numbers, we do have the advantage!" Hecate taunted Pei Yan, who remained unmoved, as if a statue amidst their siege.
