Our Anniversary, You Chose Her – I Chose Divorce
Chapter 774: Soiled
"What are you doing?" Iris Yates furrowed her brows, looking at them.
The servant replied expressionlessly, "You cannot enter here."
Iris looked ahead. It was a small path lined with various flowers and plants, clearly still part of the garden. "And if I insist on going in?" she challenged.
The servant blocked her path. "Mr. Quinn gave orders that you are not allowed in here."
The more they forbade her, the more she wanted to see what was inside. She barged straight ahead, shoving the servant aside.
The two servants paled in shock, their deadpan facades finally cracking. They hurriedly grabbed at Iris, trying to physically stop her.
This little interlude brought a sudden spark of amusement to her otherwise monotonous days. The entire castle was her prison, yet now, there was a specific spot within this cage where she was forbidden to set foot.
"Why won’t they let me in?" she thought. "Are they hiding some dark secret inside? If I can uncover this secret, could I use it to threaten William Quinn into letting me go?"
Excitement flared on Iris’s face. "Let go of me! Who gave you permission to touch me?"
At her sharp yell, the two servants immediately recoiled, not daring to lay another finger on her. They all saw how much Mr. Quinn treasured this woman. If she complained to him, they would undoubtedly be thrown into the sea to feed the sharks. But he had also given strict orders forbidding her from entering this area. Now that she was forcing her way in, what were they supposed to do?
"Quick, go inform Mr. Quinn," one of the servants urged. She then dashed toward the castle, leaving the other servant to anxiously trail behind Iris.
With no one stopping her, Iris followed the path inward. The deeper she went, the sparser the flowers and plants became, eventually giving way to a grove of trees. The path ended at an ordinary pavilion. There was nothing particularly special about it.
"Huh?" she thought. "Then where did that bodyguard from earlier come out from?" She began to wander around the edge of the woods.
"Baby, what are you looking for?"
Before she could find anything, a lazy drawl sounded from not too far behind her.
Iris stiffened. She turned to look at him, only to see William strolling unhurriedly toward her. He pulled her into his arms and kissed her forcefully.
"What is it you want to find? Just tell me, and I’ll help you look for it, okay?" William’s blue eyes were tinged with a faint smile as he gazed at her tense, nervous little face. "So cute," he thought. "This is my baby. My most beloved baby."
Every fiber of Iris’s being resisted his intimacy. She pushed against him with all her might. "Let go of me."
"I won’t," William shook his head. Instead of releasing her, he held her even tighter. "I just want to be with my baby all the time. It’d be best if I could live inside your body every single moment. Do you agree, baby?"
Iris raised her hand to slap his face.
William didn’t dodge. Instead, he leaned in closer, his blue eyes narrowing. "Be gentle, baby, or your hand will hurt."
Her hand froze in midair. She couldn’t bring herself to strike him, but pulling back felt just as wrong. The suffocating dilemma made her feel sick to her stomach.
William laughed, looking exceptionally delighted. "Baby, aren’t you going to hit me? Have you fallen in love with me? Are you too reluctant to hurt me?"
Iris sneered. "I didn’t hit you because I’m afraid of dirtying my hand."
"Then what should we do?" William held her, kissing and nuzzling her. "You’ve already been dirtied by me—inside and out, from head to toe."
