Chapter 877: How Is She Inferior to Chloe Reed?

  • Next Chapter

"Not yet." Chloe Reed immediately added, "Give me a little more time."

Preston Vance smiled and nodded. "Okay, take your time. I’ll be right here. Let me know whenever you’ve made up your mind."

"Mhm."

Outside the hospital room, Ivy Vance stood watching Chloe and her brother interacting so harmoniously. A hint of pure malice surfaced in her eyes.

"What a shameless woman," she thought.

She seethed at how Chloe stayed tangled up with Walker Grant while simultaneously seducing her brother. Because of this woman, Preston had completely disregarded their sibling bond and left Ivy all alone abroad.

Ivy deeply resented Chloe. When she had arrived at the hospital earlier, she had noticed Walker’s car parked right outside. Turning on her heel, she walked straight out of the building.

The driver was standing next to the car. He hadn’t dared to stay inside any longer; the atmosphere in the back seat was so oppressive that he could barely breathe. Seeing a woman walking straight toward him, he stepped forward and asked, "Miss, can I help you with something?"

"My name is Ivy Vance," Ivy replied. "Mr. Grant knows me. I have some things to tell him about Chloe Reed."

"Please wait here for a moment," the driver said.

He returned to the vehicle and leaned in to say something to Walker. A moment later, the driver came back. "Miss, Mr. Grant says he doesn’t know you."

Ivy’s expression instantly turned ugly.

"He’s making it obvious he just doesn’t want to talk to me!" she thought. "Does he really hate me that much? How am I any less than Chloe?!"

Taking two deep breaths, Ivy said, "Tell him that Chloe has been keeping my brother company. They’ve been talking a lot. Ask him if he’s interested in hearing about that."

The driver’s expression shifted. He hurried back and relayed her words to Walker.

He knew exactly why Mr. Grant was so upset. Wasn’t it because Mrs. Grant had gone to see another man? Now, things were looking even grimmer.

A moment later, the driver returned. "Miss, Mr. Grant invites you over."

A smug smirk lifted the corners of Ivy’s lips. She walked over to the car just as the window rolled down, only to see white gauze wrapped around Walker’s eyes. Shock washed over her face.

"Walker, what happened to your eyes?!" she asked immediately.

Instead of answering, Walker asked in a flat tone, "What did you want to tell me?"

Ivy’s face was full of worry and concern. "Tell me what happened to your eyes first! Are you hurt? How did you get hurt? Does it hurt a lot?"

Walker frowned impatiently. "That is none of your business."

Ivy bit her lip. "Chloe has been in my brother’s hospital room this whole time. They were hugging. I was going to go in, but I didn’t want to make things awkward for everyone, so I left. Walker, Chloe doesn’t love you anymore. You shouldn’t keep obsessing over her."

She desperately wished he would just look at other women—women who were ten thousand times better than Chloe!

A chill crept into Walker’s voice. "Hugging? You saw this with your own eyes?"

Ivy nodded, but realizing he couldn’t see her, she quickly added, "Yes, I saw it with my own eyes. She is a fickle, unfaithful woman. You need to stop loving her."

"Is that all?" Walker’s tone was icy.

Ivy opened her mouth, hesitating before asking, "What else do you want to know?"

A cold, indifferent smirk appeared on his lips. "Given how deep your malice for her runs, I thought you would fabricate something much worse."

Ivy’s expression faltered. "You don’t believe me? I have no reason to lie to you!" She took a deep breath and declared, "Walker, sooner or later, she is going to betray you!"
