Our Anniversary, You Chose Her – I Chose Divorce
Chapter 885: You Slept With Me, You Have to Take Responsibility
When Chloe Reed woke up, her head felt heavy. She raised a hand to massage her temples, but the blanket slipped off her shoulders, making her realize she was completely naked.
She froze. Hastily lifting the blanket to check, she confirmed she really was wearing nothing. Snapping her head around, she saw Walker Grant lying on his side next to her. The white bandages were no longer wrapped around his eyes. His features were handsome and sharp, but in sleep, his intimidating aura had softened considerably.
He, too, was entirely bare.
Chloe slowly withdrew her gaze, staring blankly ahead as she tried to recall the events of the previous night. Fragmented memories surfaced in her mind. She had been in the bathtub, and he was bathing her. But she had grabbed onto him, refusing to let him leave, and eventually even took the initiative to lean in...
She covered her face with her hands, never expecting she would do something so bold while drunk.
"You’re awake?"
The man’s slightly hoarse voice sounded from beside her. It carried the gravelly, sleepy texture of someone who had just woken up, sounding exceptionally deep and alluring.
Chloe murmured in response and rolled over, preparing to get out of bed.
"You slept with me, and you have nothing to say?" came his questioning voice from behind. He sounded deeply aggrieved by her coldness.
Chloe paused her movements. The blanket barely covered her chest, revealing faint, scattered marks across her fair, smooth shoulders. She turned back and instantly met his pitch-black eyes. Freezing, her breath caught in her throat. But as her eyelashes fluttered and she looked closer, she realized his gaze was still unfocused.
His eyes hadn’t healed.
For a fleeting moment, she had been under the illusion that he had regained his sight.
"Last night, I was drunk..." Chloe said, looking away.
"So, you don’t plan on taking responsibility?" Walker pressed, giving her no room to breathe.
Chloe was speechless. A wave of numbness washed over her as she realized she was actually on the receiving end of such a demand. How was she supposed to take responsibility? She had been planning to leave him anyway.
Her fingers curled inward as she replied in an exceptionally flat tone, "It was just one night. It’s not like you were taken advantage of. Why make such a big deal out of it?"
"Of course I was taken advantage of," Walker retorted.
Chloe immediately looked at him. "How were you taken advantage of?"
"I can’t see anything, so I could only let you do whatever you wanted to me. If that’s not being taken advantage of, what is?"
Chloe was left utterly stunned. She stared at him in disbelief. He was completely twisting the facts! Sleeping together didn’t require eyesight—physical sensation was more than enough!
Hearing her breathing grow heavier, a faint curve appeared on Walker’s thin lips, though he tried his best to suppress it so he wouldn’t look too smug. He sat up and leaned back against the headboard. The blanket naturally pooled around his waist, exposing his fair, toned upper body and well-defined muscles. Scattered across his chest, shoulders, and arms were marks of varying sizes—bite marks, scratches...
Chloe took one glance and didn’t dare to look any longer. She never expected she could be so wild.
"Chloe Reed, you have to take responsibility for me." Walker faced her. Even though his eyesight hadn’t recovered, his direct, "staring" posture still stirred a sense of guilt within her.
She cleared her throat and asked, "How should I take responsibility?"
Walker could sense that she was right beside him. All he had to do was reach out to touch her. He desperately wanted to just tell her to stay by his side for the rest of her life. But right now, he didn’t dare say the words out loud.
