Overlord Tamer:I Only Tame Bosses

Chapter 128: Flame Dungeon

After that, the classes continued until 5 PM. All the students began returning to their dorms after a full day of lessons.

The orange light of the setting sun pierced through the windows along the academy hallways as Oliver walked toward his dorm alone.

He wasn’t particularly close to the other Mythragon students. Only Klade occasionally talked to him, although their conversations were usually awkward.

After arriving in his room, he immediately opened the thick book that listed all the dungeons within the Dungeon Deep Mind.

“Starting tonight, I’ll raid the dungeons on my own.” Oliver muttered.

“If I find an interesting boss, I will tame it. But the problem is, the dungeon will disappear if that happens. This is really troublesome…” Oliver scratched his head.

“Well, I better just collect as many Dominion Cores and Tamer Coins as I can first.” Oliver then closed the book and prepared himself.

Later that night, at 9 PM, Oliver arrived at the Dungeon Deep Mind area. Several guards were stationed around the area, while a number of final-year students were entering and exiting the dungeons.

He walked toward one of the portals and selected the dungeon he wanted to enter. He chose Vermillion Valley, a Rank 6 dungeon filled with Fire-element monsters. He wanted at least one Fire-element monster in his lineup, and the dungeon boss looked particularly interesting to him.

Oliver was excited. After all, this was his first time entering a dungeon above Rank 5. Just as he was about to step through the portal, a hand suddenly grabbed his shoulder and pulled him back.

“Hey, what do you think you’re doing, brat?!” a harsh voice came from behind him.

Oliver looked back and saw a guard holding his shoulder. The man was wearing chain mail and carrying a spear in his hand.

“I want to go inside the dungeon, of course. What else would I be doing?” Oliver replied, annoyed.

“I can see that!” the guard snapped. “But you’re only a first-year student. You can’t enter a dungeon above Rank 5 alone. That’s the rule.”

“Tch!” Oliver clicked his tongue. He had finally gotten excited about entering a higher-ranked dungeon, only to be stopped by a guard.

“Alright. I’ll go to a Rank 5 dungeon. Is that okay?”

Oliver then randomly selected one of the flame-elemental Rank 5 dungeons from the magical screen beside the portal. The portal immediately began swirling.

“Alright. You’re cleared to enter.” The guard released Oliver’s shoulder.

Shaking his head in dissatisfaction, Oliver stepped through the portal. It seemed his plan to raid higher-ranked dungeons alone would have to wait for a while.

When he entered the dungeon, he was greeted by the sight of a scorched land filled with flowing lava below.

It was like a massive structure built above a volcano. The dungeon had a circular layout, with five bridges connected to a large building at the center.

The temperature was quite hot, and Oliver started loosening his attire after a few minutes of walking across one of the bridges toward the main building.

Suddenly, a group of monsters jumped out from the lava below and landed on the bridge in front of him.

Rank B

“A Rank B monster, huh? Not bad.”

Oliver loosened his outer coat and let it hang freely. He then summoned Bloob and Husk at the same time. Bloob immediately transformed into Husk’s form, giving Oliver two giant wolf monsters under his command.

He had no intention of summoning Flora, Nyx, or Queen here as the environment would put them at a significant disadvantage.

“Go!”

Husk and Bloob immediately rushed forward without fear. The Lavaroks opened their mouths and sprayed flames toward them, but both wolves easily evaded the attacks.

Husk used Crimson Fang while Erb unleashed Crimson Slash toward the group. Within a minute, they easily defeated the monsters. Oliver simply ran behind them as both of his monsters tore through the enemies with ease.

After thirty minutes, he arrived at the central building. The large gate made of black steel immediately opened upon Oliver’s arrival, as if it had been waiting for him.

When he entered, he found himself in a large hall with a massive spiral staircase leading upward. This was a completely different type of dungeon from any he had entered before.

Without hesitation, Oliver began climbing the staircase with Husk and Erb.Lavaroks continued attacking them along the way, but they had no trouble clearing them.

Finally, they arrived at the boss room.

It was a platform suspended above a sea of hot lava. Streams of molten lava flowed from pipes all around the hall and poured into the area beneath the platform.

“Ahhh… so hot! I can’t take it anymore. Let’s finish this boss and get out of here.”

Oliver was sweating profusely. His academy uniform was completely drenched in sweat. He couldn’t wait to return to his room and dive into the bathtub.

From the far end of the boss room, a boss monster appeared. It was a large humanoid creature with a body made of molten lava rock.

Standing nearly four meters tall, it held what looked like the hilt of a sword without a blade in its right hand.

Rank A+ Boss

“It’s an A+ Rank boss monster! And a Fire-element one at that. It might also be a Warrior-type based on its appearance. Should I tame this boss or not? Hmmm… this is difficult.”

Oliver fell into thought. He currently only had ten monster slots, with five already occupied. That meant he only had five empty slots remaining.

If possible, he wanted to tame as many monsters as he could. However, the limitation forced him to think carefully about his choices.

Finally, after some deliberation, he decided not to tame it. Besides, it was only a Rank 5 dungeon boss. There were still thousands of dungeons he could raid in the Dungeon Deep Mind. And if he ever decided he wanted this boss, he could always come back later.

Lavaslazar then began walking toward Oliver before suddenly breaking into a run. At the same time, the hilt in its hand started absorbing lava from below the platform.

Molten lava gathered around it, gradually forming a blazing sword blade before it swung the blade toward Oliver.

“Oh shoot!”
