Chapter 794: 794:The Saintess

The buildings below blurred as he crossed the distance. He moved past the damaged streets and flew over the rooftops, but Garrick had already reached another location.

Ethan’s eyes widened.

Garrick was standing in the air near the backside of the Imperial Palace.

His sword was already raised.

His eyes were fixed on the massive structure behind the palace. The area below was still filled with people, guards and several fleeing civilians who had no idea what was about to happen.

A powerful sword aura gathered around Garrick’s blade.

The air around him began to tremble, and the sword slowly became covered in a sharp layer of energy.

Ethan’s expression changed.

"That bastard..."

He accelerated as much as he could.

But he was already late.

Garrick swung his sword.

A massive sword arc erupted from the blade and shot toward the backside of the Imperial Palace. The attack tore through the air with tremendous force as it moved toward its target.

Ethan’s eyes narrowed.

He pushed his speed to the limit and rushed after it.

But the attack had already been released.

Garrick’s sword came down with tremendous force.

BOOOOOOM!

The massive sword arc tore through the air and rushed toward the backside of the Imperial Palace. The pressure carried by the attack was much stronger than before, and the air itself seemed to shake as the sword light passed through it. Buildings below trembled from the force, and loose stones were lifted from the streets before being thrown away.

Ethan’s expression changed as he sensed the attack.

This was different.

The strength behind this attack was far greater than the previous one. Ethan had already seen what Garrick could do, and he immediately understood that the earlier attack had not been meant to kill the people at all.

It had been a feint.

Garrick had deliberately attacked the civilians to force Ethan away and keep him occupied. While Ethan was protecting them, Garrick had used the opportunity to move toward the real target.

His eyes became cold.

"The bastard..."

Ethan clenched his teeth as he looked toward the palace.

Then, amid the countless auras filling the Capital, he suddenly sensed something familiar.

His eyes widened slightly.

It was the aura of his troops.

The people he had sent into the Capital alongside him had already reached the Imperial Palace. They were supposed to protect the Crown Princess and Prince Charles and guide them outside through the underground route.

But now the attack was heading directly toward them.

Ethan’s heart tightened.

He did not have time to think about anything else.

WHOOSH!

His body instantly disappeared from where he stood.

He moved at full speed toward the palace, leaving behind a trail of dust and broken stones. The buildings around him blurred as he passed between them, and his eyes remained fixed on the incoming sword arc.

He needed to reach them.

He could not allow that attack to land.

But just as Ethan was about to move into the path of the sword arc, a strange beam suddenly shot out from somewhere in the distance.

WHOOSH!

The beam came toward him without warning.

Ethan’s pupils contracted.

He immediately twisted his body and moved slightly to the side.

The beam passed dangerously close to his shoulder.

For a brief moment, Ethan felt the heat of the attack against his body.

Then it struck the buildings behind him.

BOOOOOOM!

A huge explosion erupted.

The blast swallowed the street and sent a powerful shockwave through the surrounding area. Ethan was caught in the force before he could stabilize himself, and his body was thrown away like a stone.

BANG!

His back slammed into the side of a building.

The wall cracked from the impact, and Ethan was immediately thrown through it.

BOOM!

He crashed through the next building.

Wood, stone and pieces of furniture were scattered into the air as his body continued moving forward. Before he could regain control, another wall appeared in front of him.

BANG!

He smashed through that one as well.

The force kept carrying him forward, and Ethan’s body slammed into one building after another. Each impact shook the surrounding streets and sent more debris falling from the damaged structures.

Finally, his body crashed down onto the ground.

BOOOOOOM!

The street beneath him cracked, and dust spread across the area.

Ethan remained there for a moment before slowly pushing himself up.

His clothes were covered in dust, and his breathing had become heavier. He ignored the pain and immediately looked toward the Imperial Palace.

Then he froze.

BOOM!

Another explosion erupted in the distance.

BOOOOOOM!

Another followed.

The night sky above the Capital was filled with flashes of light and rising smoke. Several buildings around the palace were shaking, and pieces of debris were falling from above.

The sounds of people screaming and soldiers shouting mixed with the explosions.

Ethan’s eyes widened.

His heart suddenly became cold.

For a moment, his heart skipped a beat.

His mind went blank as he stared at the destruction taking place around the palace.

His anger rose rapidly.

He had been worried about the Crown Princess and Prince Charles, but now he was also worried about his own people who had gone there to protect them.

Ethan clenched his fists so tightly that his fingers trembled.

"Where are they..."

He took one step forward.

Then he suddenly felt another strange aura.

It was different from the powers he had sensed before.

The feeling was familiar, yet it carried a purity that made the surrounding energy feel completely different.

Ethan’s expression changed.

He slowly raised his head toward the palace.

A faint golden-white glow could be seen through the smoke and dust.

His eyes narrowed.

"Holy Power..."

The words escaped his mouth slowly.

His anger was suddenly mixed with disbelief.

He had felt this power before.There was only one person he could think of who possessed such a pure and powerful Holy Power.

Ethan’s face became serious.

"The Saintess!"
