Chapter 854:The Unification Of Heretic Sects
Chapter 854: 854:The Unification Of Heretic Sects
Deep within a hidden place, far away from the eyes of ordinary people, several figures were gathered around a large black table.
Each of them emitted a strong evil aura that seemed capable of shaking the world to its core. The pressure around them was so heavy that the air itself seemed to become still.
They sat silently and looked around at each other.
None of them trusted the others.
They had gathered here for an important reason, but every person at the table was also waiting to test the others and understand how much they had lost.
After a long silence, one of them finally spoke.
"How long are we gonna sit?"
The man sitting at the head of the table slowly opened his eyes.
"Let’s start the meeting."
"Yes!"
The others nodded.
One of the men stood up.
He looked like a young man who had only recently come of age. His face was pale and delicate, and his black hair fell neatly over his shoulders. His body was thin, and his appearance gave him the impression of someone who had barely stepped into adulthood.
However, that appearance was completely misleading.
He was actually a monster who had lived for several centuries.
He was Veyron, the Master of the Abyssal Cult.
Despite his young appearance, his eyes carried a faint solemnity that did not belong to someone his age. There was also a deep darkness hidden inside them that made even the other evil figures treat him carefully.
Veyron stood with his hands behind his back and looked around the table.
"All the large operations we have prepared have been destroyed by the combined effort of the Empires."
His voice was calm, but there was a faint heaviness in it.
"We even lost someone who was half-step Ascension."
The expressions of everyone around the table grew tense.
That loss had affected all of them.
The people gathered here were not ordinary evil cultivators. Each of them represented a powerful secret organization that had existed for countless years.
They all served their respective Gods.
Unlike the orthodox Gods residing in Heaven who needed the power of faith, the Gods of Hell they served needed sacrifices and negative emotions.
Blood, death, fear, hatred and despair were all valuable offerings.
Because of this, laying traps and creating large amounts of offerings had always been a hassle. Every operation required years of preparation, and losing one meant losing countless resources and sacrifices.
One of the figures slammed his fist against the table.
"Those damn Empires!"
"How the hell did they find out about our operation?"
"We prepared everything so carefully, yet those bastards managed to destroy it."
"Not only did we lose the offering, but they also killed our people."
Another man gritted his teeth.
"This is fucking ridiculous. We spent decades preparing that operation."
A woman sitting near the end of the table clenched her fingers.
"Those Empires have become too troublesome. They keep interfering with things they shouldn’t even know about."
Another figure gave a cold snort.
"They should have stayed inside their territories instead of sticking their noses into everything."
The anger around the table continued to rise.
Their carefully prepared plans had failed one after another, and the loss of a half-step Ascension expert had made the situation even worse.
Then someone suddenly spoke.
"And Ethan."
The entire table became slightly quieter.
"That bastard has already foiled our plans twice."
A dark expression appeared on one of the men’s faces.
"Twice? He has ruined more than that. Every time we think we have prepared something properly, that bastard appears and destroys it."
"Fuck that Ethan."
"He is becoming a serious problem."
"First he interfered with our plans, and now he has become a Duke. His influence is only going to increase."
The curses continued for a while as everyone expressed their anger.
Veyron quietly listened.
His expression remained calm, but his eyes gradually became colder.
Finally, he raised his hand.
"Be silent."
His voice wasn’t loud.
Yet the entire room immediately became quiet.
The evil figures around the table stopped speaking and looked toward him.
Veyron slowly scanned them.
"We didn’t gather here so that you could curse the Empires."
He placed his hand on the table and leaned forward slightly.
"Listen carefully. Our enemies have become stronger, and we have suffered losses. That is a fact."
His eyes narrowed.
"But that doesn’t mean we have lost."
The room remained silent as everyone listened.
Veyron’s expression became solemn.
"If our previous methods have failed, then we need to change them."
He looked around the table one by one.
"And before we decide our next move, we need to understand exactly where we went wrong."
Veyron then looked around and spoke, his expression becoming serious.
"At present situation, where the hearts of the people are united, creating any turbulence is like fighting against the entire world."
"Every big move we make is thwarted by the Empire. Unless we can command the one sitting on the throne, we will find ourselves hitting the wall."
"Then what should we do?" one of them asked.
Veyron smiled and folded his hands.
"Destroy the masses."
The others looked at him quietly.
"Stir the world’s sentiments. Slowly corrode away the forces of the Empire and engulf them inside."
He paused for a moment and looked around the table.
"And we need to do all this without creating big ripples. Why do we need to extend our hands when we can gather the people externally? Especially those who are frustrated with no signs of breakthrough."
Several people began to understand what he was suggesting.
"Simply lure them to form a strong force. Make the voices reach the zenith where even the Imperial power is divided and then..."
He paused, gripping his hand tightly.
"With one single blow, we will uproot all those who are standing in the way."
"But it won’t be easy and will take so long?" one of them exclaimed.
"So what?" Veyron snorted.
"So what if it takes long? We just need to keep the steady supply of life sacrifice and keep gathering them. All other things will fall into place."
His words were calm, but his plan was clear.
He wasn’t talking about launching another attack or sending their forces against the Empire. He wanted to slowly create division from within and let the people themselves become the force that would weaken the Empire.
"Now I want you to subdue all secret organizations and form an unity. Only when we are united, our reach will be all over the world."
Everyone pondered Veyron’s words.
The grand vision he saw wasn’t easy to achieve. It wasn’t impossible, but it would surely take a lot of time. However, with their several long lifespans, there was little reason for them to be afraid of waiting.
They had survived for centuries.
They could wait for decades more.
The room remained silent for a while as everyone considered the plan. One by one, their expressions changed as they began to see the possibilities.
Finally, one of them nodded.
"Very well!"
"We will do as you suggest."
The others also nodded in agreement.
