Peerless Medical Emperor
Chapter 258: The Source of the Secret
"Why?" Yamaguchi Jirō asked.
"Because if I made this inheritance declaration public, you would use it to fight over the assets." Yamaguchi Juefu looked at them, his eyes filled with deep disappointment.
"Father, we're not like that," Yamaguchi Daisuke tried to argue.
"I know you're not," Yamaguchi Juefu cut him off again, "but I don't want to cause any trouble for you. I hope you can understand my decision."
"Let's go back," Yamaguchi Jirō said, looking at his brother and gesturing for them to leave.
They stood up in silence and walked toward the door.
At the doorway, they glanced back at their father, only to find he had already turned his head to look at the cherry blossom tree outside the window, ignoring them completely.
With his promise to Yamaguchi Seiko fulfilled, Chen Qingdi considered his job done.
He picked up his phone and dialed the familiar number.
"Hello, is that you, Cyan Emperor? Are you back at the hotel already?" Yamaguchi Seiko's voice came from the other end of the line.
"Yes, I'm back. Qingzi, I promised you I would return," Chen Qingdi said with a smile.
For the next month or so, Chen Qingdi and Yamaguchi Seiko had no contact. He was busy with his own affairs, and she was likely busy with the matters of the Yamaguchi Group. The promise between them seemed to fade with the passage of time.
Then, a month and a half later, a luxury sedan pulled up to the entrance of Chen Qingdi's hotel. Someone was there to pick him up and take him to the Yamaguchi Group.
Chen Qingdi was a little confused, but he didn't refuse.
The moment Chen Qingdi walked into the Yamaguchi Group headquarters, he immediately sensed a different atmosphere. Employees bustled down the hallways, clearly all working hard for the group's growth.
He was then led to Yamaguchi Seiko's office.
He pushed open the door and saw Yamaguchi Seiko sitting at her desk. Dressed in professional attire, she looked capable and elegant. She was no longer the woman who needed his protection, but a mature, confident corporate president.
"Cyan Emperor, you're here," Yamaguchi Seiko said, smiling at him.
"Yes, Qingzi. You... You're the president now?" Chen Qingdi asked, a little surprised.
"Yes, I've taken over as Chairman and CEO of the Yamaguchi Group," Yamaguchi Seiko said proudly.
Chen Qingdi was struck by her transformation. He walked to her desk and looked into her bright eyes.
"Qingzi, you've changed," Chen Qingdi said.
"Yes, I have," Yamaguchi Seiko replied. "I had to become stronger to protect our group."
Chen Qingdi looked at her, a complex mix of emotions welling up inside him. He felt his promise to her was fulfilled, but he also realized their relationship had changed.
Suddenly, Yamaguchi Seiko stood up and walked over to Chen Qingdi. She reached out and gently caressed his face, her eyes full of tenderness and anticipation.
Chen Qingdi didn't resist her intimate touch. He took a deep breath and then gently pulled her into an embrace. Their bodies pressed tightly together, their breaths mingling.
"Cyan Emperor, I love you," Yamaguchi Seiko said softly.
Chen Qingdi didn't say anything, only holding her tighter. He wasn't opposed to getting intimate with her here; it would be a new experience.
In Yamaguchi Seiko's office, after she and Chen Qingdi had straightened their clothes, she looked at him with an expression of gratitude and awe.
"Qingzi, your husband passed peacefully. I did my best," Chen Qingdi said in a low voice, his tone full of respect and compassion.
"Thank you, Cyan Emperor," Yamaguchi Seiko nodded slightly, her gratitude palpable. "You are truly a benefactor to our family. If not for your supreme medical skills, my husband would have suffered greatly from his cancer."
Chen Qingdi remained silent, simply watching Yamaguchi Seiko with a detached expression.
"Qingzi, can we talk about my parents now?" Chen Qingdi's tone was cold. He would no longer be captivated by this woman's appearance.
Yamaguchi Seiko hesitated for a moment, then shook her head. "Actually, I don't know either."
Chen Qingdi's patience snapped. He shot to his feet and slammed a fist on the desk. "You don't know? Have you forgotten who I am?"
But Yamaguchi Seiko wasn't flustered. She gave a faint smile. "Cyan Emperor, getting angry won't help. I really don't know who murdered your parents. However, I do have a lead."
"A lead?" Chen Qingdi looked at her dubiously. "What lead?"
"You need to go to the Classo Clan in Rome for answers," Yamaguchi Seiko said nonchalantly. "That clan does a lot of business here. They're also the ones who murdered your parents."
Chen Qingdi stared at her, as if trying to discern the truth in her words. But Yamaguchi Seiko simply smiled faintly, calmly meeting his scrutiny.
"Fine. I'll go to Rome and find this Classo Clan," Chen Qingdi said slowly after taking a deep breath. "But when I get back, you're going to tell me everything."
"Of course," Yamaguchi Seiko nodded gracefully. "I will tell you everything."
Chen Qingdi stood by the window, his heart filled with a storm of emotions. His parents had been murdered by the Evil God Sect, a pain that had never left him.
Now, he finally had a lead—he had found his parents' killers.
"Cyan Emperor, are you ready?" Yamaguchi Seiko asked, looking at Chen Qingdi.
"I'm ready. Tell me everything," Chen Qingdi said, turning to face Yamaguchi Seiko, a determined glint in his eyes.
"Do you know of the Classo Clan?" Yamaguchi Seiko asked.
"Yes, I do," Chen Qingdi replied. "They are one of the founding families of the Evil God Sect. Each generation's head serves as a Grand Elder. Are you about to tell me they gave the final order to kill my parents?"
"Yes, that's correct," Yamaguchi Seiko nodded.
"Several people were involved in your parents' murder, and they were all members of the Classo Clan. Their main reason for doing so was to seize a resurrection formula."
Chen Qingdi's heart jolted at her words. He knew about that formula. It was something his parents had developed—a drug that could bring the dead back to life.
He had always thought the formula was a myth, but now it seemed it truly existed.
"My husband, Yamaguchi Juefu, was also an Elder in the Evil God Sect," Yamaguchi Seiko continued. "He also participated in the murder of your parents. I know this is hard to accept, but it's the truth."
Hearing this, Chen Qingdi was puzzled.
He remembered that Yamaguchi Juefu had once supported Outer Island's plan to dump wastewater into the ocean, which had struck him as very odd. Now it seemed there had to be some kind of connection.
And so, he quickly told Yamaguchi Seiko that he needed to get to Rome as soon as possible to uncover the truth.
