Peerless Medical Emperor
Chapter 259: Evil God Holy Knight
Just then, a squad of Samurai carrying Tower Shields appeared on the street. They were all speaking some foreign language that Chen Qingdi couldn't understand.
But from their gestures, he could tell they were looking for him.
Not him in his current attire, but him as the Divine Physician of Medical God Island.
He had once looked through the records of the Evil God Sect and knew that these people held a high status. They were called Evil God Knights, and their duty was to protect the Evil God.
These knights were divided into four ranks, marked by the badge on their shields.
A golden badge signified a Golden Badge Evil God Knight. Below the Golden Badge were Silver, Purple, and Blue Badges.
Of course, there was also a type with no badge on their Tower Shield, called an Entry Level Evil God Knight.
As Chen Qingdi walked along, he noticed that most of the knights he saw were Entry Level. There was one Blue Badge for every ten men, one Purple Badge for every hundred, and one Silver Badge for every thousand.
Purple Badges were a rare sight on the streets. As for the two ranks above them, they were almost never seen.
'Aren't they making a mountain out of a molehill?' he thought. 'Sending Evil God Knights to deal with a weak doctor like me!'
Just then, he happened to notice a magnificent, spire-topped building in the center of the castle. At the very peak of the spire was a golden mask.
The mask was shaped like a devil, and its image was identical to the insignia on the shields.
Only then did Chen Qingdi realize there was just one Golden Badge Knight in the entire castle.
The master of Yaglu Castle himself, Yaglu!
He had also been secretly observing the Martial Arts Levels of these Evil God Knights. In his eyes, even the most powerful commanders among them were nothing but pushovers.
Knowing his own power was on another level, he paid the knights no mind and headed straight for the Great Hall of the Evil God.
He had just reached the entrance when two Purple Badge guards blocked his path. They sternly reprimanded him, but he couldn't understand a word.
But there were ways to communicate without understanding. Chen Qingdi's fists shot out viciously toward the two Purple Badge knights.
Though they were about ten feet apart, the two knights coughed up blood and were sent flying backward, crashing into the doors of the Holy Hall and collapsing, unable to get up.
This terrified the nearby guards, who scrambled to contact those inside the hall.
A moment later, the doors opened, and twelve men surged out.
Each of the twelve men held a Tower Shield bearing a silver badge.
'Are these the legendary Twelve Great Silver Badge Evil God Knights?'
Two knights at the front blocked the way with their silver Tower Shields, advancing slowly.
The fronts of their Tower Shields were covered in sharp, fang-like spikes.
They weren't moving quickly, but Chen Qingdi had no room to retreat. Once his path was blocked, he would be impaled on the spikes of their Tower Shields.
His brow furrowed.
'These guys... their weapons are quite insidious.'
'No matter which angle I attack from, that Tower Shield can protect their whole body. My Flying Needles are useless against it.'
'But this Tower Shield isn't without flaws. There's a small hole in the center used for offense—usually for a spear to poke through or an arrow to be fired.'
Chen Qingdi sneered. 'If not for that opening, I'd be in trouble. But since it isn't perfect, what have I got to fear?'
He plucked two silver needles from his pouch and, with a flick of his index finger, sent them flying.
They shot through the attack ports in the center of the shields, piercing the wrists of the men behind them.
With a loud cry, the two men fell to the ground. Their shields clattered down, and Chen Qingdi lunged forward to snatch them up.
'You used to hunt me like a dog. Today, I'm here to settle the score!'
Holding the two Tower Shields to his sides, he strode forward.
"Stop him!"
A commanding voice from the back issued the order in a language the knights understood.
Sensing someone charging him, Chen Qingdi sneered. Holding a long Tower Shield in each hand, he slammed them forward.
BANG! The two knights charging him screamed in agony.
Immediately after, their two shields fell scattered on the ground, and the two knights were sent flying.
Just like that, he smashed through them like a hot knife through butter, breaking through all twelve shields.
Suddenly, he heard someone speak in a language he could understand.
"Since the day Yaglu Castle was founded, very few have been able to single-handedly defeat twelve Evil God Knights. You are the first. You must be that arrogant Island Master of Yishen Island, Chen Qingdi."
Chen Qingdi tossed the two Tower Shields aside and saw a large, bearded man standing opposite him.
The man wore a golden mask.
"Are you the so-called Golden Badge Evil God Knight, Yaglu?"
The large, bearded man tacitly confirmed it.
"You're a tough one, kid. But if you think you can destroy an invincible Evil God Knight with just a few cheap tricks, you're delusional!"
"You were one of the masterminds behind what happened to my parents, weren't you!"
Yaglu admitted it without hesitation.
"While I wasn't the one to carry out the order, the decision was made jointly by the three great leaders of our Evil God Sect! And I won't hide it from you—I have the Elixir of Immortality your parents left behind, right here in my castle!"
Chen Qingdi grew pensive.
"Hahaha! Kid, you don't actually think you're taking that Elixir of Immortality home with you, do you?"
Chen Qingdi retorted, "Do you even believe in its effects?"
Yaglu snorted. "If I didn't, why would we have wiped out your entire family for it?"
Chen Qingdi took several steps back.
"In that case, I'll give you a chance. Where is the Elixir of Immortality? Take it right here in front of me, and then we'll fight. If you can prove you're truly immortal, I'll believe you!"
Yaglu was taken aback.
"You're not here to take it back?"
Chen Qingdi gave a nonchalant smile. "Can't I just verify its effects first?"
Yaglu nodded in agreement and ordered his men.
"Go! Retrieve the Immortal Elixir from beneath my throne! I will swallow it in front of this brat and make him admit defeat!"
Two of his most trusted cronies scrambled into the great hall. A moment later, they returned looking radiant, holding a single Elixir of Immortality, which they respectfully presented to Yaglu.
Yaglu glanced at the two men. "After we destroyed the Chen Family Manor, we got three Elixirs of Immortality. Why is there only one left?"
The two men dropped to their knees to beg for forgiveness.
"Lord Golden Badge Knight, please forgive our theft! The other two Elixirs of Immortality... we split them between us. Only if we, too, are immortal can we better help you deal with this brat!"
Yaglu was furious. He was about to kill them, but then he hesitated. 'Wait,' he thought, 'if they really ate the Elixir of Immortality, then I probably can't kill them no matter what I do.'
