Chapter 260: The Undying Yaglu

The only plan now was to use the full might of the sect to drive this brat out, and then figure out how to clean house. He abandoned any thought of bickering, consumed the other Elixir of Immortality, and commanded his two favored retainers.

"Jacob, Yagorli, the two of you test Divine Physician Chen's Martial Arts!"

When he gave the order, he used the language of the Dragon Country, which the two men could understand.

They walked up to Chen Qingdi.

"Lord Divine Physician, the Lord Golden Badge Knight has ordered us to test your Martial Arts."

"One at a time, or both at once?"

These two were just favored retainers, not Martial Artists.

They hadn't systematically learned any Combat Techniques. Acting purely on instinct, they each grabbed a short sword and charged at Chen Qingdi.

But before they could even reach Chen Qingdi, he disarmed them with two strikes of his Flying Dragon Fist, knocking the blades from their hands.

Chen Qingdi opened his palm and, with a strong pulling force, drew the two short swords from the ground into his grasp. 'I can't afford to waste my Inner Strength right now,' he thought. 'I need to use weapons to end this quickly.'

After all, if he exhausted his Inner Strength, he would be hacked to pieces by Yaglu's men even if he managed to kill their leader.

Before the two men could charge him again, he flicked his wrist, sending the two spinning blades flying. They sliced off one arm from each of the retainers.

Before the blades could fly too far, he pulled them back with that same force, and they returned to his hands.

What was shocking was that after their arms were severed, the two retainers simply picked them up as if nothing had happened, pressed them against the stumps, and were instantly healed.

There wasn't even a scar where the arms had been reattached, and their hands moved as freely as before.

"This is just too bizarre!"

Only then did Chen Qingdi realize that the Immortal Elixir truly made one immortal. The two men charged at him again.

With a light wave of his hand, he tossed out a small cloth pouch, which landed squarely on the two men's faces.

The two men were unharmed, but they caught a whiff of a peculiar, sweet fragrance coming from the pouch.

A moment later, they both screamed in agony and collapsed to the ground, writhing in pain.

"What kind of Demon Technique is this?"

Yaglu watched, his heart pounding with fear.

Chen Qingdi said nonchalantly, "It's not a Demon Technique. It's a Gu Poison passed down from ancient times, refined from Dragon Bone. Normally, it would torment a person until their entire body rots away before they finally die. But since these two have taken the Elixir of Immortality, they'll be tortured for a lifetime and will never be able to die! Congratulations to them on their newfound longevity!"

Seeing his two subordinates suffering a fate worse than death, Yaglu was enraged.

"Have you no compassion? If you hate them so much, why not just kill them outright!"

Chen Qingdi put on a helpless expression.

"That's out of my hands. It's their own fault for taking the Elixir of Immortality! If you figure out a way to finish them off, be sure to let me know."

Yaglu snorted. There was no way he was going to test out such an idiotic idea.

"Since I'm unkillable, you're the one who's going to have a bad time."

Faced with Yaglu's threat, Chen Qingdi showed no fear.

"I have plenty more Gu Poison like this on me. If the Golden Badge Knight Yaglu truly wants some, then come and get it!"

By now, all the knights in the castle had gathered here.

Seeing Chen Qingdi's terrifying combat power, no one dared to step forward. A large space was cleared for the two of them to duel.

Yaglu's explosive power was immense, and his speed was astonishing. Chen Qingdi fought him for several rounds but couldn't even touch the hem of his clothes.

However, in a moment of distraction, Chen Qingdi was struck on the arm by Yaglu's fist. With a sickening CRACK, his arm was dislocated.

Chen Qingdi snatched up a short sword and swiftly lopped off his opponent's head.

But to his astonishment, the headless body didn't fall. It staggered over to the severed head, bent down, picked it up, and pressed it back onto the neck. Incredibly, the head fused back onto the body.

The sight left Chen Qingdi completely dumbfounded.

"Chen Qingdi, I admit your martial skill is impressive! But since I've taken the Elixir of Immortality, there's nothing you can do to me. As for that Gu Poison you carry, you won't even get the chance to throw it at me! I advise you to stop this futile resistance. Surrender!"

Chen Qingdi watched him from a distance.

"The people of Medical God Island do not have a habit of surrendering!"

Yaglu gave a cold, sinister laugh and also picked up a short sword.

"If that's how you want it, then don't blame me for what happens next!"

He lunged at Chen Qingdi with incredible speed. Fortunately, Chen Qingdi was fast as well and managed to block the strike.

This round ended in a draw, but as the fight dragged on, Chen Qingdi realized he was at a huge disadvantage.

'Is this guy even human?' he thought. 'No matter what I do, he just puts himself back together. How am I supposed to fight this?'

After another round, Yaglu kicked him to the ground.

He thought Yaglu was about to deal a killing blow, but instead, Yaglu didn't press the attack. He viciously stabbed the sword in his hand into the ground beside him.

"Before I took the Elixir of Immortality, I would have pursued you and cut off your head to display my power. But after taking it, I've realized how utterly boring that kind of behavior is!"

"Boring?"

Yaglu's words were surprisingly sincere, with no hint of sarcasm or boasting.

'I know I can't die, so what's the point of killing anymore?'

'In fact, at this point, I don't even know what I'm supposed to do with myself.'

Chen Qingdi slowly struggled back to his feet.

"What are you going to do now?"

Yaglu shook his head. "I don't know what to do anymore. Even being a knight of the Evil God Sect feels incredibly boring. Can I ask you for a favor?"

Chen Qingdi didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

"Now that you're immortal, I doubt you have any need for a doctor like me. What could you possibly ask of me?"

"I don't want you to surrender anymore. It's all the same to me whether people submit or not. I want to ask you to help me manage this castle, or even the entire Evil God Sect!"

"Who do you think you're kidding?"

Yaglu said listlessly.

"I just feel like everything is boring. I'd rather figure out a way to 'build a raft' and fly out of this universe to see what's out there. I've already transcended the mortal world anyway. Since I can never die, transcending this world has become my ultimate pursuit. This Evil God Castle is yours. Do whatever you want with it!"

With that, he looked down from his high perch at his subjects.

"I declare that from this moment on, the entire Evil God Sect is under the authority of Medical God Island! Mister Chen Qingdi is now your new Sect Leader! No matter what orders he gives, you are to obey them!"

As soon as he said this, everyone knelt.

"We pay our respects to Sect Leader Chen Qingdi!"

In truth, Chen Qingdi had only ever wanted to wander the world freely, practicing medicine and helping people. As for being a Sect Leader, the thought had never even crossed his mind.
