Peerless Medical Emperor
Chapter 278: Journey to Medical God Island
"It was alright. I learned a lot," Chen Qingdi replied succinctly.
"That sounds wonderful. Medical God Island is a mysterious place. I’ve heard it’s home to many miraculous medical techniques," Liu said with a sigh of admiration.
"Yes, I heard some of the rumors too, but my time was limited, so I didn’t get to delve too deeply," Chen Qingdi said.
"What did you learn on Medical God Island?" Liu asked curiously.
"Mostly some acupuncture techniques and knowledge of herbal medicine," Chen Qingdi replied.
"Acupuncture? That’s an incredible skill," Liu said in admiration.
"Yes, I agree. Acupuncture is a very effective form of treatment, but it requires extremely precise methods and skill," Chen Qingdi said, nodding.
"You’re absolutely right. Acupuncture may look simple, but mastering it is no easy feat," Liu said, speaking from the heart.
On a hot summer afternoon, Chen Qingdi was sitting in the back of a taxi, on his way to the company. The car was moving slowly due to heavy traffic.
Suddenly, a loud BANG rang out—the taxi had blown a tire. Chen Qingdi felt a bit helpless. He wasn’t familiar with this road, and he was still dozens of kilometers from his destination.
Just as he was getting extremely anxious, a few men suddenly appeared in front of the car carrying a spare tire. They seemed to have been prepared, asking with broad smiles if Chen Qingdi needed the tire changed.
Chen Qingdi eyed the men suspiciously and asked, "You lot are real entrepreneurs, aren’t you? You scatter nails on the road first, then offer to fix the tires?"
One of the men chuckled and replied, "Boss, you really know how to joke. We just happened to be nearby, heard your car was in trouble, and came over to help."
Chen Qingdi sneered. "How much to change the tire?"
The man paused for a moment, then said, "Fifty thousand US Dollars."
Upon hearing this, Chen Qingdi flew into a rage. He grabbed the man by the collar and slapped him hard across the face several times, knocking out some of his teeth.
Then he turned to the others and roared, "You lot, listen up! You’re changing it for free!"
The men were dumbfounded by Chen Qingdi’s actions and nodded hastily. "For free, for free."
Chen Qingdi finally breathed a sigh of relief. He sat back down in the taxi and watched the men hurry to change the tire.
He remained silent throughout the process, but his gaze revealed a steely resolve and boldness.
Once the tire was changed, the taxi continued on its way.
Chen Qingdi gazed at the passing scenery, making a silent vow: ’From now on, no matter what difficulties or challenges I face, I will meet them head-on.’
"Stop the car! I’m going to go meet them. Let’s see what kind of trash they are," Chen Qingdi said to the driver, Liu, with a smile. Hearing this, Liu immediately stopped the car.
After getting out of the car, Chen Qingdi sensed he was indeed being followed. He walked along a small path for a while and noticed the people behind him were still tailing him. ’They’re definitely up to no good,’ he thought. He quickened his pace, trying to lose them as quickly as possible.
However, when he turned onto a narrow, winding path, he found it growing steeper and more deserted. He felt a flicker of panic, but kept walking forward.
It wasn’t long before they caught up to him. He took a closer look and saw that each of them wore a mask and a hat, and they were carrying tools.
"Who are you people? What do you want?" Chen Qingdi asked calmly.
One of the men, holding a knife, stepped forward and said viciously, "You’d better cooperate, or you’re going to get a taste of this blade."
Not wanting to cause trouble, Chen Qingdi asked again, "So what is it you want?"
Another man with an iron bar stepped forward. "We’d like to ’borrow’ your wallet. Just hand it over, and we won’t hurt you."
’So they’re just after money, no real ill intent,’ Chen Qingdi realized. He took his wallet out of his pocket and handed it to the man.
After getting the wallet, the man and his companions left immediately. Once they were gone, Chen Qingdi breathed a sigh of relief. He got back in the car and told Liu they could get back on the road.
Liu asked worriedly, "Mr. Chen, are you alright?"
Chen Qingdi smiled. "I’m fine. Just ran into a little trouble, that’s all."
On a narrow mountain road, the taxi carrying Chen Qingdi was forced to a stop by several other cars. He got out resignedly, looked at the drivers blocking his path, and asked with a chuckle.
"And what powerful figures might you be? If you let me go on my way, I’ll let this slide. But if you insist on doing this the hard way, then I’m done being polite."
A sleazy-looking man with a scar on his face pulled out a dagger and snarled, "You must be Chen Qingdi, huh? We’re here to claim your life today. Your time is up, so you’d better start thinking about how you want to die!"
Hearing this, Chen Qingdi just retorted, "Get lost. I don’t waste my time killing nobodies."
The men just hurled more insults, telling him to get on his knees and accept his death. In response, Chen Qingdi kicked over a car with a single blow, then sent several men flying with another kick. Thoroughly defeated, they fell to their knees and begged for mercy.
A man in glasses, who had been driving one of the cars, spoke first. "Chen Qingdi, don’t be so arrogant! You think you’re all that just because you’re the Head of the War God? You think we can’t handle you with all our numbers?"
"Haha, handle me? With a bunch of small-time punks like you?" Chen Qingdi sneered.
"Don’t talk so tough! Our boss is Wu Qingsong! He’s the one who wants you dead! You’re a dead man today!" the man with the scar said viciously.
"Wu Qingsong? Who the hell is that? I don’t care who he is. Get out of my way! Scram!" Chen Qingdi said without a trace of courtesy.
"You’re courting death! Brothers, get him!" the scar-faced man shouted, charging forward first with his dagger in hand.
Chen Qingdi’s eyes flashed with cold light. In an instant, he had grabbed the scar-faced man’s wrist and felled him with a single punch. Seeing this, the others took out their weapons and surrounded him.
"Just come at me all at once! It’ll save time," Chen Qingdi said disdainfully.
The man with the glasses gave a nasty laugh. "You think we’re that easy to deal with? Today, you’ll get a taste of what we can do!"
Before his words had even faded, the men attacked Chen Qingdi simultaneously. However, they were no match for him and were quickly beaten to the ground.
The scar-faced man seized the opportunity to scramble back to his feet, pulling out a handgun and aiming it at Chen Qingdi’s head. "Damn it! Don’t move! Move again and I’ll blow your head off!"
But far from being afraid, Chen Qingdi started to laugh. "A piece of trash like you is worthy of a gun? What a joke!"
