Chapter 107: Another day with mom

She stayed in my lap until the light shifted far enough to touch the apples on the counter and then kept going past them.

Evelyn’s cheek rested on my shoulder. I was still inside her, the leak from the door and the morning a slow warmth between us, her shirt open and doing nothing to hide the mess. She clenched once, not to start anything, just to feel the shape of me, then relaxed and traced a slow line down my spine with one finger, stopping at the small of my back.

"Tell me something that isn’t this," she said. "So the day has a floor under the fucking. Anything. The shop. The dog. The way the toaster still leans left no matter how many times I swear I’ll fix it. I don’t care what it is. I just want five minutes of sentences that aren’t about my pussy or your cock. Then we can go back to those with a clear conscience. Fair?"

"The neighbor’s dog barked at a plastic bag for ten minutes yesterday. The bag won. The dog looked personally offended."

She laughed against my neck, the sound vibrating through both of us. "Good. Mine. The bread from the better place goes stale faster than the cheap stuff. Still worth it. The crust is better. Okay. Five minutes served. Now move. Slow. I changed my mind about the apples waiting their turn. I want to come once more before we stand up and pretend to be people who eat fruit. Then food. Then the rug if my knees agree with the plan. If they don’t, the bed. No tragedy either way. I’m retired from tragedies."

I rolled my hips under her. She sighed, arms tightening around my neck, and met the small thrusts with a grind of her own that dragged her clit against me. The wet sound was quiet, almost polite, which made it filthier. She kissed me, open and unhurried, tasting the last of the coffee, and slipped a hand between us to rub herself in lazy circles. It didn’t take long. She came with a soft oh that broke into my mouth, pussy fluttering around me in steady pulses, forehead pressed to mine, then stayed still while it ran through her, breathing hard.

"Inside or later," she said, voice uneven. "Your choice. I’m easy. I’ve been easy all day. It’s becoming a personality trait."

"Later. I want to watch you eat the apple with this still in you a minute longer. Then I’ll let you go."

"Filthy," she said, and smiled like she approved of the diagnosis. She clenched once more, deliberate, then eased off only when her legs started to protest the angle. The leak followed, warm, running down her thigh. She ignored it, stood, and walked to the counter naked from the waist down, shirt hanging open. She bit into an apple and looked back at me, juice shining on her lip, one eyebrow up.

"Come eat," she said. "Standing is fine. If you get hard again before we finish the fruit I’ll consider it a compliment and a delay. Both are acceptable. Bring the other apple. I’m not sharing this one. I earned it."

I joined her. We ate standing at the counter like people who had never heard of plates. The apples were crisp, sweet, ordinary. She fed me a slice from her fingers and sucked the juice off her thumb without turning it into a performance. Her free hand rested on my hip, thumb stroking once, then still. When the cores were down to seeds she rinsed her hands, dried them on the shirt, and nodded at the rug in the front room.

"Knees agree," she said. "Stomach. Slow for as long as I can stand the patience, then hard. I want the weight on my back. I want to feel you deep enough that I forget the apple. After that a real shower, a nap that might turn into more, and whatever the evening decides to be. No list written down. Just the next true thing. You can veto the rug. I won’t sulk. Much."

"Rug."

She got down on it, ass raised, arms folded under her cheek, looking back with the same calm she used for the kettle. I covered her and pushed in. She was swollen, slick from the couch and the leak and the want, and she moaned into her arms as I sank to the root. I stayed there a moment, full weight on her. She pushed back, impatient already.

"Move. Long. Hands wherever they land. I’ll tell you if the slow stops working and needs to be something else. Don’t make me manage it."

I moved long. Deep drag out, slow fill back in, the head kissing the end of her every time. The rug was rough under her knees and soft enough under her chest. I kissed her shoulder, her neck, the place behind her ear. She turned her head and caught my mouth for a messy second, then let it go and focused on the rhythm, hand working under her in time with the thrusts. She came once, quiet and sharp, clenching hard enough that I had to still for a breath, and nodded against her arms.

"Hard now. Don’t hold back. I want to feel it tomorrow when I walk to the shop again, and the day after that. Inside. Obviously. Fill me. I’m greedy. You can say it."

"You’re greedy, mom."

"Yes." She grinned into the rug. "Now prove you mean the hard part."

I gave her hard. The slap of skin filled the front room, her voice breaking on every third stroke, the rug shifting under our knees. She took it, pushing back to meet me, one hand fisted in the pile. I drove until the edge hit, then buried deep and came in thick pulses, groaning against her neck, hips jerking. She reached back and held my hip there, milking what she could with small clenches, then laughed, breathless, when I softened and finally slipped free in a rush.

"Shower," she said, not moving yet. "Before we stick to the floor permanently and have to explain the rug to no one. Then bed. Nap. If you wake up wanting me, take me. Side, stomach, whatever. I’ll say if it’s too much. It won’t be. The door stays the way we left it. You’re not a guest. Eat the last apple if you still want it. I don’t. It’s yours."

We showered longer than necessary. She washed the shine off my stomach and spent extra time on my cock, gentle, until I twitched and she smiled and stopped. I washed her back, her breasts, between her legs where she was tender and swollen, careful. She kissed me under the water, slow, and shut the tap before either of us turned it into another round we didn’t have the legs for. In the bedroom she pulled me down beside her, guided me in from the side with a soft sound, and we rocked in small, lazy motions until she came with a sigh against my arm and I spilled inside her, less than before, enough. She drew my arm over her waist and fitted her back to my chest.

"Sleep," she said. "Evening can invent itself when it gets here. If I get weird later, which I might, because bodies lie after this many rounds and mornings are worse, you know the sentence. Say it and I’ll remember I wanted every part of this. Including the apples. Including the rug burns I’m going to have. Including you staying in the bed that isn’t a guest bed anymore."

"You wanted this."

"I did." She clenched once, lazy, already half gone. "Now stop talking and stay. The house is empty. The door is ours. The schedule is dead. That’s the whole rest of the day. Don’t add a plot. Just be here when I open my eyes, hard or soft, I don’t care which."

She slept. The light kept moving across the floor and up the wall. I stayed inside her until I slipped free on my own, the mess warm between us, and even then I didn’t leave the bed. The last apple sat on the counter in the kitchen, uneaten, going soft at the edges, and neither of us got up to save it from the air or the quiet. The neighbor’s dog did not bark. The toaster leaned left in the dark. Everything else could wait until she decided the evening had invented itself.

She woke once before true dark, felt the dried leak on her thigh and my hand still on her waist, and turned into me without opening her eyes all the way.

"Evening invented itself," she mumbled. "It wants food that isn’t fruit and then you on top of me slow enough that I can fall asleep in the middle if I need to. Can you do slow enough for that?"

"Yes."

"Then kitchen first. I’m not fainting on your cock. That’s undignified and also your fault."

We got up. She pulled the open shirt on again. I didn’t bother with shorts. In the kitchen she scrambled the last eggs while I cut the heel of the bread. We ate at the table this time, plates, forks, her bare foot hooked around my ankle under the wood. She talked about the detective book being over and how she needed a new one that wasn’t about sisters. I told her the dog story again because she asked. Ordinary. When the plates were in the sink she didn’t wash them. She took my hand and led me back to the bed.

"On top," she said. "Slow. Kiss me. If I stop answering, I fell asleep. Don’t take it personally. Finish if you want or don’t. Both fine. Then we actually sleep till morning. No more inventions tonight."

I went over her. She guided me in, tender and wet, and sighed like the day had finally sat down. I moved slow. Deep enough. She kissed me between strokes, open, lazy, hands on my back. She came once, small, a clench and a hum, and didn’t ask for another. I came inside her when the slow built to its end, and she held me there with her legs until I softened. Then she turned us to our sides, pulled the sheet up, and was asleep with her mouth against my shoulder before the leak finished running.

The house stayed empty. The door stayed the way we had left it. Morning would bring coffee and no schedule again, and she had already decided, out loud and in her sleep, that this was enough.

In the gray before full morning she stirred, felt me hard against her ass, and reached back without a word to guide me in. Half asleep. Wet enough. She rocked with me in tiny motions, came with a quiet shudder, and let me finish inside her before either of us properly woke. Then she pulled my arm tighter and mumbled the only sentence that still mattered.

"You wanted this. So did I. Coffee when the light wins. Not before."

She slept again. I stayed. The toaster leaned in the kitchen. The last apple had gone soft. None of it required us yet.

When the light finally won she opened her eyes, felt the new leak, and smiled at the ceiling before she looked at me.

"See?" she said. "No schedule. Just morning. Get up when I get up. Or stay another minute. I’m not counting either way."
