Perverted Step-Dad System
Chapter 172: Trouble from the Empress
I glanced at the message on my phone. it was a message from Olivia which I hadn’t seen due to the fact my phone was on silent.
she had probably sent it before deciding to call.
"Master, we’ve encountered a little bit of issue. Please can you check the most trending topic on the news now?"
I was slightly startled by her message, but I wasnt too bothered. With my strength, there wasnt anything I couldn’t handle in this world.
With that, I closed the message panel, and opened the news to glance at what it was that she was talking about.
The next instant, I felt the urge to facepalm.
...
About an hour ago, inside one of the most well known hotels within the state.
A slender and graceful figure laid sprawled on the bed.
Her expression was filled with serenity. Suddenly, her brows drew together and her peaceful state was broken as she stirred awake.
It was slow at first, but In moments, the lady on the bed was completely awake.
She took the sight of her surroundings and was a little startled at the unfamiliar scenery.
She glanced at the black television hanging on the wall, and furrowed her brows.
Her eyes drifted to the spacious room, as she slowly stood up from the bed.
Her bare foot touched the ground since she had no shoes. The ground felt cool underneath her feet.
She noticed cool air drifting from an object embedded into the wall, but she didnt mind it.
All she wanted now, was to find the man who had awakened her.
She constantly felt on guard when she was around him. Although he seemed as friendly as possible, it was clear that there was something completely off about him.
Others might not have noticed it, but the empress, clearly had.
She glanced at the door and noticed it was unfamiliar to the doors she was used to during her time.
There was no handle on the door. The empress was unaware that the door had a sensor embedded into it. All she had to was display the gesture and it would open.
She touched the wooden fabric for a few seconds. After she failed to open the door, the empress placed her fair, tender hand atop the door.
Instantly, the door began cracking apart from the center where her palm was placed accross it.
The cracks spread gradually, starting from the center, all the way until it reached the edge.
Bang!
The next instant, the door exploded into fragments, the fragments splintering onto the ground.
She glanced at the alleyway and noticed similar rooms like that.
"Is this some sort of prison?" The empress recalled that only prisons looked like this.
The alleyway was completely quiet, save for some distant, light moans she could faintly hear.
The empress walked forward, her eyes continually scanning each door.
She noticed that there was a number placed accross each day.
It was another sign that pointed to this being some sort of prison.
Her frown deepened. She hated being a prisoner. she especially hated anything that had to do with shackles.
Her light steps continued when she reached the receptionist area where she noticed a young lady seated, and pressing a device in her hand.
She wondered if this was used to communicate with the head guard or something?
"Is this some sort of prison?" With just two steps the empress was infront of the young lady.
The moment she arrived, her pale lips parted and she asked curiously.
"What?!" The lady let out a startled cry. When she noticed it was a pretty lady, she calmed down and stared at the empress, her heart racing.
She felt she had been too engrossed in her phone that she didnt notice the empress approaching.
"A prison?" She mumbled, recalling what the empress had asked.
Then, she shook her head with a smile, "no, it’s called a hotel. Didnt you come from one of the rooms?" She glanced behind the empress and noticed that the empress had emerged from the alleyway where the rooms were.
Her gaze returned to the empress and she couldnt help but wonder why she was asking such a question.
’Did she lose her memories or something?’ The young lady wondered internally.
The empress glanced around.
’A hotel?’ She muuttered as she glanced around. it was nothing like she recalled back in her time.
She ignored the young lady and continued walking towards the door she could see ahead.
Noticing the direction she was walking in, the lady gasped in surprise.
’Why is she walking towards the window?’ her lips parted to speak, but she decided to be quiet for now.
Perhaps the empress just planed to take a look at the view outside.
She watched at the empress walked over to the window, then placed her hand atop the glass pane.
Instantly, cracks began spreading like lightning veins across the glass.
The lady’s eyes widened dramatically the moment she noticed this.
She frowned slightly.
"Get away from..." before she could finish speaking, the glass shattered, its fragments flying around.
The lady’s eyes widened in alarm, only for it to narrow when she noticed that subconsciously, all the shards of glass seemed to be avoiding the empress.
The empress took a light step forward and she felt her heart drop to rock bottom.
She rushed out of her seat, dashing towards the direction of the window.
Did someone just commit suicide right before her eyes?
The lady felt the urge to puke at the thought.
Just then, she was overtaken with surprise once more when she noticed a lady standing on the air, levitating as though she was being supported by an object.
Multiple screams rang out. People could hardly believe the sight they were seeing.
The empress levitated higher, her eyes scanning the unfamiliar sight.
She ignored the screams of surprise and amazement she could hear from below.
Even the receptionist was stuck, watching the sight as though she couldnt believe what she was seeing.
For a vague moment she felt she was stuck in a dream. But the sight before her was as real as it could be.
The further the empress drifted away, the more her eyes widened in surprise and amazement.
The empress began flying ahead.
She couldnt help but feel melancholic at the passage of time.
The memory of how the world was during her tome, overlapped with what she was currently witnessing, and she felt a complex mix of emotion rise up in her chest.
She glanced at the sight and frowned ever so slightly.
She wondered how the moving objects she could see, ’Cars’ operated. She wondered why many things that were considered unhealthy were being sold.
Due to being warned about them constantly in the royal family, she could instantly perceive the scent buried within the objects.
’Are they aware they are consuming poison? Or do they just not care?’ She mumbled to herself, as she continued flying ahead.
At the same time, she was curious where her master had taken her.
It gave out a completely different feeling from the city she had woken up at before. There, mana was vibrant.
Here, mana had thinned considerably, so much that it was almost non-existent.
’It seems the mana is purposefully being drained? Why?’ The empress fell into deep thought as she noticed this.
Suddenly, her eyes changed and a flicker of killing intent appeared within them.
Her cold gaze stared ahead, at the person that was rapidly approaching, jumping through buildings and rushing towards her.
