Chapter 2321 - 105: Crow's Prophecy VIII_2
The adventurers sitting far away approached the window for a glance outside, and their expressions changed.
Amidst the command, the guards on the street lowered their long halberds in rows, their blades reflecting the snowy light, cold and sharp. Behind them, the mercenaries had set up rows of heavy crossbows, the bolts resembling a forest, with cold glints swirling around them.
"They're all outside." Luo Hao glanced at the first-floor hall's situation and whispered.
Not far away, Hilveld lifted her head from her suitcase and lightly nodded upon hearing this.
However, her demeanor remained calm as she pressed her hand on the suitcase, gently pressing a rose petal-shaped clasp to open it, and carefully assembling the components into a long Magic Guided Gun.
She mounted the scope, slightly adjusted it, then rested the stock against her shoulder to test it.
In the hall, the Grey Knight who had questioned earlier changed his expression, feeling as if he had been mocked. He stepped back, looked at Mei, and seriously reiterated: "Madam, the Holy Sanctuary suspects there might be a Shadow People among your companions. Therefore, they must accompany us to the Holy Sanctuary, where they will be interrogated by the Lord of Storms. Only in this way can you prove your innocence—"
But Mei shook her head and asked earnestly: "Do you have any evidence?"
The knight paused, then laughed angrily: "In this place, whatever the Holy Sanctuary says is evidence. Because here, only we can discern who the puppet of the Shadow People is. The prophecy is about to come true, and your doubts are just signs of a guilty conscience. Listen carefully, my patience is limited; I'll only give you one minute to consider."
Mei replied: "Then I'm afraid I cannot let you advance, whether it's one minute or ten minutes."
The knight looked at her and spoke every word slowly, almost squeezing them out from between his teeth: "To act against justice, then I see you're courting death."
"Is that so? But I don't feel that way," Miss Knight retorted righteously. "Followers of Light must also be upright and open. Those who walk toward justice will never hide anything," she said with innocent sincerity: "Ancient teachings are still the same today; the principles of the world are just so."
Upon hearing this, the people in the hall secretly cheered.
But the words themselves held another meaning. Some already perceived it, showing a surprised look and stood up from their seats.
Only the Grey Knight hadn't caught on yet and still shouted loudly: "Nonsense! Then don't blame us for being rude." As he spoke, he cruelly drew his long sword and stepped forward, recklessly trying to rush through.
However, before he could touch Mei, a brilliant white light flashed from Miss Knight, causing him to let out a scream, his hand bouncing back, and the long sword flying out of his grip, clattering onto the ground.
The Grey Knight retreated several steps and steadied himself against the counter, staring at Mei's side in shock at the pure white wall that seemed like an insurmountable barrier—the glowing brilliance had caused many who understood to shout softly the name: "A Holy Domain!"
"Who are you, really?" The Grey Knight was temporarily stunned, asking again in a hoarse voice.
Mei lowered her gaze to the rose emblem on her chest, pressed her hand on that spot, and then raised her head to softly reply: "I am myself, I'm Mei, a Follower of Light, a keeper of oaths, I'm Ouli's Knight."
The adventurers standing in the back exchanged puzzled looks.
If before there was doubt, now it was completely certain; even if they were ignorant, they should have at least heard of this famous oath, and the equally famous profession:
Ancient Precept Knight—
The Grey Knight leaning against the counter turned pale, realizing he had encountered a Paladin. Without hesitation, he shouted: "Take action, seize them!"
Behind him, knights in black and white surged forward toward Mei, while the surrounding adventurers, even if sympathetic and believing Miss Knight to be likable, could not oppose the Crow's Claw Sanctuary and only retreated.
However, facing numerous enemies, Mei showed no fear; she instead took a step forward, drawing her sword for the first time. She did not have her own perfect sword; the sword in her hand was entrusted to her by the Big Cat People: the Holy Sword, which could alter its size. For now, it was just right—its blade shimmering like snow, reflecting blazing light, directly aimed at the hearts of the crowd.
She sincerely declared: "I swear by the sword, the sword answers my vow."
Miss Knight's words rang powerfully as a brilliant sun rose on the sword, its blinding white light causing tears to stream from the spectators' eyes.
Holding the Holy Sword, she slashed forward, diagonally slicing into the knights. With a crackling sound, the Crow's Claw Knights charged in, along with tables and chairs, were swept down in unison, and even the ones at the front were sent flying, crashing through the window with shards of glass—
"Holy—!" Seeing this, everyone's faces nearly twisted in shock; what kind of power was this?
"Wait—" Suddenly, someone finally recognized something.
Someone shouted: "She's Mei!!"
This sentence hadn't yet stirred the crowd.
But the next sentence dropped like thunder among them.
"She's Mei, the student of Leiya Senar!"
