Chapter 2322 - 105: Crow's Prophecy VIII_3
"Damn it!" people finally couldn't help but shout in their hearts.
Holy September.
Grand Commander of the Holy Word Knights.
There was a movement in the inn's lobby, naturally the knights outside also took action, but Mei was like a Sea-Calming Divine Needle guarding the entrance to the stairs, the Crow's Claw Knights quickly realized that no matter how much force they sent, they were not going to advance a step in front of Miss Knight.
She was simply like a steadfast wall, just like her teacher, the Guardian, Colin Ishurian, where they stand becomes an unbreakable bulwark.
However, Mei was even more impressive, her profession was not a Guardian Knight, she could both attack and defend. If she had her trusty long halberd, she'd probably have pierced through the knights' formation.
In the Seven Seas Travel Group, Miss Knight's strength was among the top, even Fang Hong might not dare to claim certain victory, needless to say these mere level seventeen or eighteen Crow's Claw Knights, what a bunch of worthless creatures.
She was like an insurmountable barrier, allowing the waves of knights to assail her without budging an inch.
But Mei's heart was not complacent; she was very alert, holding her position securely, with no intent to break out.
Outside the inn, Crow's Claw Sanctuary's knights surrounded the place in a watertight manner, even though she was strong, facing the assault of an army in an open area wouldn't hold for long.
Only by leveraging the staircase entrance could she withstand the knights' offensive.
But while Mei was patient, the commander of the Crow's Claw Knights couldn't wait. Seeing the chaotic fight going on inside the lobby, he slightly shook his head. He turned around, made gestures to his left and right, the knights guarding the sides immediately understood, dividing themselves into three groups to encircle the inn's left, right sides, and the back door.
Like all similar buildings, this inn had a front and a back door. The back door typically leads to the kitchen or storage room, usually locked, only used when transporting goods.
But the Crow's Claw Knights didn't bother with locked doors, they used brute force to break the door open and swarm in through there.
Just upon passing through the storage room and arriving at the corridor, they saw someone already waiting there—a maid who appeared somewhat delicate from her outward appearance.
Xiesta raised her head, her light purple eyes glanced at each person surrounding her, with hands clasped, left and right, the gigantic arm armor unfolded its metal cooling panels leaf by leaf, releasing a long stream of air.
Within the corridor, smoke swirled—
Simultaneously, the knights assaulting the left side of the inn quickly fetched a long ladder.
The first knight climbing up 'crash' broke the glass window, pulling it open, ready to jump inside. But just then he unexpectedly saw, on the platform behind the window, a small, somewhat cute Miss Fairy, waggling a flame-shaped tail, baring her teeth at him.
Before he could comprehend why the fairy had a tail, the little creature had already revealed its tiny sharp teeth, emitting a childish howl:
"Ow ow ow—!"
The knight was slightly stunned, as a mass of sparks flew towards him, the sparks transformed into bright golden flames, filling his entire vision.
Flames erupted out of the window, instantly engulfing the knight's upper body, he screamed and fell from mid-air.
The others behind were startled, puzzled, thinking only that their companion had fallen victim to an ambush.
The next knight quickly took a great shield and climbed up.
But on reaching the window, he saw that the little fairy had already jumped off the platform without looking back, fleeing across to a beautiful woman nearby, climbing onto her shoulder swiftly, hiding beneath her wavy long hair, only half her head peeking out to watch him.
Elisa smiled at the knight, gesturing with the sky-blue scroll in her hand. The knight was shocked to see the wind magic scroll and retreated hastily, but it was too late.
Miss Nightingale's scroll ignited at once, a bolt of lightning flew from her fingertips.
The lightning struck the knight's shield, transmitting through his metal gauntlet to his body, the high-voltage current even pierced the air, flashing bright bolts and sparks.
The knight was flung off the ladder without a word, falling far away.
Meanwhile, on the other side, the Grey Knights' attack also ran into obstacles.
Blocking their way were Luo Hao and Ai Xiaoxiao, with one using a great shield to cover the window, the other responsible for sniping.
Their teamwork seamless, the attacking Grey Knights were frustrated, the fat man's great shield covered most of the window, while the small girl with the hand crossbow shot from angles bizarre enough to be maddening.
What nearly made them verbally curse was that the crossbow bolts were even poisoned—usually, a respected ranger wouldn't do such a disrespectful thing, that was Nightingale's job.
Rangers prided themselves on their archery skills, besides, with their level of knowledge and poison proficiency, such poison was nothing compared to the lethal force of their arrows.
But Ai Xiaoxiao didn't care about that, she was like all meticulous girls calculating how to gain more advantage, taught in the untraditional style of the Big Cat People, always going for what worked best.
