Pioneer Lord: I Have Conquering System

Chapter 274 - 216: Break up the Fight? Fighting is Awesome

Truth be told, compared to the wrestling matches between the beefcakes back at High Cliff Castle, the bout between these two Knights was nothing special.

But since he had spent his whole life in the Kas Mountain Range, this was his first time seeing so many exquisitely dressed, respectable Knights and the banners of so many different noble houses.

These Knights from different noble houses were sparring with one another. A victory would surely bring honor to their Feudal Lord, so naturally, they flew their banners high to gain more renown.

As they watched the clash of flesh and bone in the ring, the crowd naturally started making their own comparisons. Somehow, the topic drifted to the most sensational figure of the moment: the Lion Hunter Knight.

"They all say this Lion Hunter Knight’s Swordsmanship is superb, but I think that’s just because he hasn’t met me," a middle-aged Knight said with brimming confidence.

"What noble has time to practice Swordsmanship? He probably spends all day on his back with women and can’t get up. Only ignorant commoners would actually believe those stories."

"Exactly. I don’t know how he suddenly got so famous."

"It’s like picking the tallest among the Dwarves—he’s still a Dwarf," someone quipped, quoting a proverb from the Far East. The comment immediately triggered a round of raucous laughter.

If their Lord had been there, he too would have been roaring with laughter.

The Knights discussed the matter dismissively. To be honest, they saw no difference between the tales circulating among the common folk and the stories found in Knightly Novels.

It was just someone building hype for this Lion Hunter Knight with exaggerated propaganda. In their eyes, his true ability was nothing special.

After all, what did these high-and-mighty lords know about Swordsmanship? When a real battle came, wouldn’t they be the ones sent to the front lines?

Mier’s face instantly turned cold.

But considering their numbers and not wanting to cause trouble for Levi, he held his tongue.

Baisitina might seem to have a constant smile on her face, and she might be petite and teased by her Lord every day, but her ability to become a Clan Leader managing several thousand people and then, as Chief Steward, to organize High Cliff Castle’s Logistics Management with perfect order proved she was no coward.

Normally, she let her Lord tease her as he pleased because she already saw him as her future husband. But now, with these people getting so brazen as to mock him right to her face, how could she possibly hold back?

She raised a fist and punched one of them right in the kidney, on a spot covered by his Leather Armor.

Baisitina may look frail, but thanks to the System’s blessing and the Lord’s belief that a strong body is the ultimate asset, he would occasionally add some of her Attribute Points to Power. As a result, she was nowhere near as weak as she appeared.

Not to mention, she had struck a weak point. The single blow sent the Knight reeling in pain.

Mier was stunned. He never expected his sister to be the first to throw a punch. Afraid she’d get hurt, he quickly stepped in front of her.

This act, however, only served to infuriate the other party. One of them roared, "Brothers, some Southerner is picking a fight with us Northern People!"

The Northern People generally had sharp, rugged features, while Southerners were a bit softer, making them easy to tell apart.

Once it became a regional issue, everyone united with unprecedented solidarity. Not to mention, these were all Knights who had seen battle; brawls were perfectly normal for them.

The Northern People were also accustomed to solving problems with their fists. The two sides shoved each other a few times, and then someone howled, "Kill that damn Southerner!" and the brawl erupted.

However, both sides maintained a sliver of reason, using only their fists and not drawing their weapons. After all, if someone actually died, it would be a massive headache for everyone involved.

The group of Knights thought it would be easy to take care of this tall, blockheaded kid. But the moment they engaged, they realized something was wrong. Their fists landed on him, and he didn’t even grunt. But when his fists landed on them, they immediately yelped in pain.

In truth, Mier wasn’t gaining much of an advantage. Even with the boost from System Power, he was still outnumbered and had to protect his sister, which severely hampered him. Soon, the two sides were locked in a stalemate, a situation that lasted until the Centaurs and Beastmen arrived on the scene.

"Motherfuckers! Daring to bully our Chief Steward Tina! Let’s go kill ’em all!"

The moment he arrived, Zat saw Mier and Baisitina surrounded by the crowd. With a furious roar, he rolled up his sleeves and led the charge.

The Knights who had been watching the spectacle from the sidelines saw the enemy bring in reinforcements. With the honor of the Northern People at stake, they couldn’t just stand by and watch their own lose. They unbuckled their Swords, rolled up their sleeves, and jumped in to lend a hand—or a fist.

They had no idea where this group of Beastmen and Centaurs had come from, and their size was certainly intimidating, but these Knights were no pushovers.

Besides, they had the advantage in numbers. They had so many men, they could have drowned the enemy in spit.

And so, a massive brawl began to unfold.

Si Kai took in the chaotic scene, a cacophony of angry roars and pained screams. He yelled to Levi at the top of his lungs, "Lord, shouldn’t we break up the fight first?!"

"Break it up? My ass! Let’s finish them off first," the Lord sneered. Before Si Kai’s incredulous eyes, he plunged into the heart of the fray.

First, a few Beastman Barbarians escorted an unscathed Baisitina and a lightly injured Mier out of the melee. Then, the fighting grew even more intense.

A human had joined the ranks of the hulking Beastmen and Centaurs, standing out like a potato in a pumpkin patch. He couldn’t have been more obvious.

How could these battle-hardened Knights fail to recognize that this was the enemy’s leader? They exchanged glances, and a dozen or so men immediately began to quietly surround him, preparing to capture the king to catch the thieves.

Levi sneered, whipping around to grab a burly man who was trying to ambush him from behind. The man was as helpless as a chick in his grasp. Levi held him horizontally like a club, and with a furious roar, shoved him into the crowd of men before him.

It was like reaping wheat. A massive force sent row after row of men tumbling to the ground, where they lay groaning, unable to get back up.

More and more people, drawn by the commotion, arrived just in time to witness this, and they all gasped in shock.

To topple dozens of men single-handedly—it was a pure, spectacular display of power. It was simply inhuman.

Still, it had to be said that these Official Knights were a cut above the greenhorn apprentice knights.

These Official Knights had been handpicked to serve as guards. Their Martial Arts were superb, their physical strength had been honed through countless trials, their stamina was abundant, and their willpower was firm.

Despite being at a complete disadvantage, they showed no signs of discouragement. Instead, they seemed to fight with even greater ferocity.

Even when knocked down onto the frozen, hardened black earth, they would rest for a few seconds at most before roaring, getting back to their feet, and rejoining the battle.

Unfortunately for them, both the Beastmen and the Centaurs were natural-born brawlers by virtue of their powerful physiques alone. And that wasn’t even mentioning the countless blessings the Beastmen had received from the War God.

The Official Knights were certainly experienced, and brawling was nothing new to them, but the gap in raw power between the two sides was far too great to be bridged by experience alone.

The Centaurs and Beastmen fought with too much savagery and force. The Knights’ own punches landed on them with no effect, but a single one of the enemy’s cheek-sized fists could send them to the ground, groaning in agony.

In the span of just a few hundred heartbeats, the Knights began to buckle. One after another, they were knocked to the ground like bowling pins.

"Stop fighting! All of you together aren’t even a match for them! How can you have the nerve to keep this up?"

Si Kai was still doing his best to stop the absurd brawl.

But he didn’t realize that his words had already made the Knights mistake him for a member of the High Cliff Castle group.

One Knight, holding a piece of black bread that was frozen solid, seized the opportunity and clubbed him over the head from behind.

"This guy’s with them!" he yelled after landing the blow, quickly retreating back into the crowd.

"Motherfucker! Which son of a bitch sucker-punched me?!"

Si Kai was furious. He scanned his surroundings angrily but couldn’t find his attacker. Seeing the crowd closing in on him with malicious intent, and with the throbbing pain in his head, he completely abandoned any thought of breaking up the fight. He snatched a wooden club from the ground and charged. "To hell with this! Whoever wants to play peacemaker can go right ahead! Right now, I just want to kill every last one of you bastards!"
