Pioneer Lord: I Have Conquering System
Chapter 426 - 292: Bloodthirsty Fiend
Fierce winds howled as the scenery rushed by in a blur. Atop the dragon’s neck, the Golden Armor Knight watched White Bone Fortress shrink into a tiny black dot. Despite his immense frustration, he had no choice but to patiently persuade the Silver Dragon beneath him.
"Sophia, those Six-armed Snake Demons aren’t as strong as you think. They can’t even break through your Dragon Scales. It would only take five—no... three! Three attacks, and you could turn them all into ice sculptures!"
"You’ll get your own page in the *Book of the Giant Dragon*! Travelers will record your glorious deeds from today for future generations to admire. You’ll become a Silver Dragon Queen with her own biography!"
"I can’t, I can’t..."
But no matter how earnestly the Lord pleaded, the Silver Dragon beneath him just shook her head frantically, flying straight for High Cliff Castle.
At this speed, they would probably be back at High Cliff Castle by dawn.
Seeing his persuasion was fruitless, Levi finally got truly angry and cursed out loud, "Fleeing in the face of battle! To think my High Cliff Castle produced someone like you."
"Even if we die, I, your Lord, will die before you do! What are you so afraid of?"
"Are you trying to get Zat, Mier, and everyone else in High Cliff Castle killed?!!"
"And after Tina was so good to you, even embroidering a wallet just for you! Do you want to completely disappoint her?"
After this barrage of questions, it was unclear which one finally hit home.
"I can’t let Sister Tina and everyone be disappointed in me!" Sophia’s voice rang out.
She turned around and flew back towards White Bone Fortress. Levi could see her eyes were filled with fear, but she shrieked to psych herself up while manipulating the winds to increase her speed, charging toward the Demons that had already covered nearly a tenth of the fortress.
"I am the Silver Dragon, Sophia! I am the most talented Giant Dragon on Dragon Island! In the future, I will become the Silver Dragon Queen whose name resounds across the continent, commanding the wealth of an entire nation! These Demons are nothing on my thorny path..."
Sophia muttered on and on. It was clear she was trying to overcome her inner fear, but it didn’t seem to be working very well, to the point that her speech was starting to stutter.
Her beautifully streamlined body accelerated several times over, aided by winds controlled by Magic Power. The Silver Dragon returned to White Bone Fortress at an even greater speed and dove toward the group of Six-armed Snake Demon Warriors.
These creatures tried to use their old tricks again, but whether she had overcome her cowardice or something else had changed, Sophia seemed to have become extremely clever, using every spell she had ever learned.
A thick fog instantly enveloped her form, turning the sky into a canvas of white clouds. When the Six-armed Snake Demons’ Javelins flew into it, they hit nothing but empty air.
A dragon’s roar echoed from the other side of the fog. The breathtakingly beautiful Giant Beast emerged, unleashing a deluge of green Dragon Breath from above.
The Six-armed Snake Demons seemed to realize death was imminent.
They roared, throwing their weapons and raising their Shields in a final, desperate struggle. The more elite the Warrior, the more they fear falling into nothingness, for it means everything they fought so hard to gain will be reduced to nil.
Unfortunately, the one who controlled their fate right now had no concept of mercy. In fact, because she was so scared, her Dragon Breath was even more potent than usual—both its power and its area of effect reached one hundred and twenty percent of their normal capacity.
"HISS!"
Shrill wails instantly erupted. The Six-armed Snake Demon Warriors hit directly by the Dragon Breath seemed to have been doused in strong acid. Their flesh and blood melted into a pool of filth in an instant, and their white bones began to dissolve.
Even the slightest contact would strip a hand down to the bone, leaving not a shred of flesh.
The visual impact was even greater than that of her frost breath. A single diving breath attack had completely snuffed out the lives of some two thousand Demons.
It was a battle outcome that left even the Lord utterly dumbfounded.
He knew Sophia had two types of breath attacks: one was a frost breath, which he had seen before, and the other was a paralyzing gas breath.
But looking at the pools of melted gore on the ground, Levi fell silent. ’You call this a paralyzing gas breath?’
Sophia had once said she was a genius from Dragon Island and that she had even modified her breath weapon.
’This was less a modification and more of a demonic overhaul...’
Even a Green Dragon from among the Five-Colored Dragons would probably be scratching its head in confusion.
Absolute Power brings absolute destructive force. Even as an adolescent dragon, she wasn’t someone any ordinary punk could handle.
When the third breath attack came, even the battle-hardened Six-armed Snake Demon Warriors couldn’t bear the helplessness of just waiting for death.
They had yet to inflict any effective damage on their opponent, yet had already lost half their own forces. Even death-sworn fanatics would be unwilling to waste their precious lives in a meaningless, final struggle.
The Six-armed Snake Demons began to shriek among themselves. Following a cry filled with terror, they started to rout, fleeing to the rear in a chaotic, disorderly swarm.
With a Giant Dragon eyeing them like a tiger watching its prey, they were doomed to taste the bitter fruit of defeat. There was no need to continue wasting their lives here.
What they didn’t know was that if they had just endured this final breath attack, their situation would have turned around. Unfortunately, it seemed the Gods were not smiling upon them.
"Levi, I can manage three breath attacks at most, maybe four if I push it. I need time to recover before the next one." Sophia, who had zipped back into the clouds, sent the message into the Lord’s mind.
There’s no such thing as a free lunch in this world, and naturally, no such thing as a free Dragon Breath. The power to scorch mountains and boil seas came at an earth-shattering cost.
