Pokémon: My Online Friend Is Cynthia
Chapter 367: Congratulations To Elite Four Cynthia On Her First Victory!
Chapter 367: Chapter 367: Congratulations To Elite Four Cynthia On Her First Victory!
Before Julian and Cynthia realised it, they had walked to the venue where tomorrow’s battles would be held.
Cynthia pointed at the venue.
"Julian, many of the Sinnoh League’s competitions are held in this stadium. The Lily of the Valley Conference, Gym ranking battles..."
"The Masters Tournament, and tomorrow’s Elite Four ranking battles."
Julian raised an eyebrow.
"How confident are you in defeating the other three Elite Four members and becoming Champion?"
Cynthia looked confidently at the moon.
"One hundred percent. Garchomp has already mastered Brutal Swing, and combined with Dragon Dance, we no longer lack anything!"
Julian smiled and nodded.
"As expected of Cynthia. It’s getting late. You should go back and rest. For tomorrow’s match, you need to properly conserve your energy."
Julian released Miraidon.
"Miss, may I use my motorcycle to send you home?"
Cynthia smiled and shook her head.
"No. I only ride motorcycles that can fly."
Julian replied, "Perfect. My motorcycle can fly."
Miraidon rolled his eyes.
Are we leaving or not?
Why are you two acting so much?
Only then did Cynthia nod.
"Then I’ll test how well your motorcycle flies."
Cynthia sat on the back seat and skilfully reached out to wrap her arms around Julian’s waist.
That was right.
This was the familiar feeling!
Julian rode his beloved little motorcycle and carried Cynthia back to the hotel.
After he sent Cynthia back to her room, Caitlin opened the door beside them and poked her head out.
"You came back so quickly? Why didn’t you walk around a little more? The scenery on Lily of the Valley Island is quite nice."
Julian said calmly, "We’ll walk around after Cynthia becomes Champion."
Caitlin shook her head.
"I created an opportunity for you, and you didn’t even know how to cherish it."
She withdrew back into her room and continued practising her Psychic power.
Cynthia was about to become Champion, while Caitlin was still far away from becoming a Psychic-type Elite Four member.
That would not do.
Julian returned to his room, where Darius was happily playing games in the living room.
Thinking that in a few days, Darius would be heading into the wilderness of Victory Road to train, Julian decided to let him enjoy these last few days of happiness.
Who knew when he would come out after entering Victory Road?
The next morning, Cynthia deliberately came down for breakfast more than ten minutes late.
She picked up her breakfast and sat beside Julian.
"That friend you asked me to inquire about last night — I helped ask around earlier. There should be news soon."
He nodded.
"Sorry to trouble you."
Caitlin blinked.
"What friend? So you actually have friends?"
The corner of Julian’s mouth twitched.
"Although I didn’t do very well in the past, I still had some friends online."
Cynthia helped him out.
"Alright, hurry up and eat. Elite Four Bertha and Elite Four Hardy’s match is about to begin."
Caitlin rolled her eyes.
"It’s only half past seven. The match starts at nine!"
Hardy was the old Elite Four member Julian did not recognise, who specialised in Ghost types.
It was said that he was already considering retiring from his position as Elite Four.
Cynthia’s battle with Lucian would take place at three in the afternoon.
When they arrived at the VIP seats, Julian released all his Pokémon.
This was the first time they were watching a battle at this level.
Kommo-o had watched recordings with Julian before, but watching it live was also his first time.
Bertha opened with Gliscor, while Hardy sent out Froslass to face it.
Although Hardy could not always sit firmly in his Elite Four seat, the Elite Four were still the Elite Four.
Hardy’s Froslass displayed powerful strength. In any case, if Julian’s Pokémon went up against Froslass, it would probably be a difficult battle.
Whether they could win would depend on whether the bond between Julian and his Pokémon was deep enough.
Compared to the Elite Four, Julian’s Pokémon still needed to continue growing.
The current Julian could at most sit firmly in the position of Gym Leader. He could also try to compete for one of the top eight signature Gyms in the Sinnoh region.
He had hope of winning the Masters Tournament, but the chances were not especially high.
The clash between the Elite Four brought twelve rarely seen powerful Pokémon together. It was impossible to look away.
After watching this match, Julian’s Pokémon all realised that they needed to train even more seriously.
Especially Miraidon.
He had originally thought that Roaring Moon and Iron Treads from the Great Crater of Paldea were already invincible.
He had not expected to see so many Pokémon today whose strength was only one or two levels below Roaring Moon and Iron Treads.
If these twelve Pokémon attacked together, even Roaring Moon and Iron Treads would probably find it hard to withstand them.
For the first time, Miraidon gained a clear understanding of human strength.
Julian rubbed his head.
"Don’t worry. One day, we’ll step onto this battlefield too."
Eevee lay against the glass, little stars shining in both eyes.
He had already begun imagining himself stepping onto this battlefield and sweeping through everyone.
Bertha and Hardy engaged in all kinds of tactical exchanges. The entire battle lasted more than an hour before finally ending, making everyone sigh that this match alone had already been worth the ticket price.
During lunch, people were still discussing that battle.
Cynthia went out midway to answer a phone call. When she came back, she told Julian, "I found information about that friend of yours. He was arranged to guard a secret facility."
"He couldn’t communicate with the outside world there, which is why he lost contact for so long. I used a small connection and had him transferred elsewhere for a mission."
"You should receive a message from him soon."
Julian nodded.
"Thanks, Cynthia."
Julian suddenly thought that compared to Cynthia, he should have asked Professor Rowan for help.
The Sinnoh League had been founded by Professor Rowan’s ancestor, Kamado.
For him to look into KingGarchomp, it should have been easy.
In the afternoon, Cynthia stepped onto the battlefield amid everyone’s blessings.
She displayed her dominant side.
Before Cynthia used Garchomp, Lucian could still fight her back and forth.
But once Garchomp entered the field, the situation instantly tilted towards Cynthia.
The unlucky Lucian and Bronzong became the first victims of Brutal Swing.
When Garchomp carried a yellow glow and knocked Bronzong to the ground, Lucian’s eyes widened, his face full of disbelief.
No, seriously?
Did you cheat?
The cheers of the entire audience immediately reached their peak.
Even Darius sighed.
"Forget Steel-type Bronzong. Even my Machamp wouldn’t be able to block that move from Garchomp."
Once Bronzong fell, Lucian’s remaining Pokémon could not stop Garchomp at all.
Garchomp only needed to keep swinging her shark fins, and Lucian’s Pokémon fell one after another.
Previously, Cynthia had been one god carrying five deadweights.
Now, the five deadweights had grown and were no longer dragging her down!
And Garchomp, that one god, had become even more godlike!
Both Bertha and Hardy had a feeling that this Elite Four ranking battle might be Cynthia’s coronation ceremony as Champion.
But as Elite Four members, they would definitely bring out all their strength and battle Cynthia until the final moment!
Even if Hardy really wanted to retire once the matches were over.
When Cynthia walked down from the battlefield, Julian presented her with a bouquet of flowers.
"Congratulations to Elite Four Cynthia on securing your first victory!"
