Pokémon: Starting From Zero as a Legendary Pokémon
Chapter 161: Who Is Stronger, Leon or Sora?
Chapter 161: Chapter 161: Who Is Stronger, Leon or Sora?
The destination in the previous Chapter was incorrect. It should have been Motostoke, not Hulbury.
After arriving in Motostoke, Korrina enthusiastically went off to purchase train tickets to the Crown Tundra Station.
On the train, Sora and his group left behind the relatively mild climate of central Galar and entered the frigid southern region.
To prepare, everyone changed into thick mountaineering gear.
As for the Pokémon—
Ogerpon wasn’t well suited to such a cold environment, so Sora had her rest inside her Poké Ball.
Magearna’s mechanical body wasn’t ideal for trekking through snow and ice either.
Eventually, the three of them arrived at Crown Tundra Station.
From there, they rode on Volcanion and headed toward the location marked on the map—the hidden village nestled deep within the snowy mountains, Freezington.
One thing had to be said:
In the games, reaching Freezington only took a few minutes.
In reality, it took Sora and his companions two full days to find it.
The journey was brutal.
Heavy snow blocked the mountain paths, and drifts that reached above their knees made every step a struggle.
Without Volcanion’s heated steam protecting them, the extreme cold alone would have taught these outsiders a harsh lesson.
Fortunately, their efforts weren’t wasted.
They finally arrived at Freezington.
"Uuuugh~~ So comfortable~~"
Peeling off her frozen, stiff clothing, Korrina sat in front of the fireplace without a shred of dignity, basking in the warmth she had fought so hard to reach.
At the moment, she was wearing only a thin shirt.
The fabric clung to her body, damp from the drastic temperature changes.
"Korrina, take off those wet clothes first."
Sora reminded her.
He had no interest in peeking on the girl.
Compared to the rather flat Korrina, he preferred mature women like Cynthia or Diantha.
"Yeah, being soaked really is uncomfortable."
Without the slightest embarrassment about exposing herself, Korrina sat on the floor and began removing her damp socks.
"Go change in the bathroom."
"Emma, take her in there."
"Mm-hmm!"
Emma had been waiting for this opportunity.
She immediately grabbed Korrina and shoved her toward the bathroom.
"Ehhh~~ But it’s cold over there!"
Korrina complained.
"Come on, Master, let me change beside the fireplace~~"
"No!"
Unlike the carefree Korrina, Emma understood the importance of boundaries between men and women.
Before long, both girls had changed into the pajamas they brought with them.
Sora did the same.
Knock knock.
At that moment, someone knocked on the door.
It was the elderly couple who had rented the cabin to them.
Freezington was isolated and buried beneath snow year-round.
Hardly any outsiders ever came here.
Unlike the troublesome villagers of Kitakami, however, the people of Freezington were incredibly warm and welcoming.
"Now then, are you feeling warmer?"
The old woman carried a large pot.
Inside was a sweet medicinal soup, somewhat similar to the ginger soup Sora knew from his previous life.
"This is a medicinal broth we make in the village."
"It works very well against the cold."
"Thank you very much."
Sora sincerely felt that the people of Freezington were honest and kind.
Accepting the woman’s gift, he thanked her.
The two girls quickly followed suit.
"Well then, guests, get some rest."
"Tomorrow, you can have my old man show you around the village."
Visitors were rare in Freezington.
The arrival of three young travelers genuinely delighted the old woman.
"Great."
"We’ll trouble the old gentleman tomorrow."
Sora didn’t refuse.
He intended to investigate clues regarding Calyrex anyway.
Having a local guide would only help.
"What is this?"
"It smells kinda weird."
The girls weren’t particularly fond of the medicinal aroma.
Especially Korrina.
She had absolute confidence in her physical fitness.
As for Sora—
In another world, such hospitality from strangers might have made him suspicious.
But this was the Pokémon world.
The place often called a small utopia.
"Drink at least one bowl."
"Don’t waste Grandma’s kindness."
Sora filled a small bowl for each girl.
Then he served himself ten bowls.
Surprisingly, it tasted pretty good.
Like some unusually flavored fruit juice.
"It’s... not bad."
Emma smacked her lips thoughtfully.
Seeing that, Korrina reluctantly followed suit.
"We’ll give the rest to the Pokémon."
Sora and the girls released their Pokémon and distributed the remaining soup among them.
"When you’re traveling, tasting local specialties is part of the experience."
"Even here in Galar, we should respect local customs."
That said, Sora had no intention of leaving all cooking duties to the villagers.
Freezington still had plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables.
Don’t ask how food could still be harvested in winter.
The answer was simple:
Pokémon-world magic.
"I’ll prepare the ingredients."
"You two can go upstairs and choose your rooms."
The cabin was surprisingly cheap.
Its value was incredible.
It covered more than a hundred square meters and had two floors.
The three travelers each took a room.
Two additional rooms were used to house their Pokémon.
"Okay!"
"I want this room!"
The girls didn’t sit idle.
They unpacked everyone’s luggage and carefully organized everything into their respective rooms.
They even sorted Sora’s belongings for him.
At least in terms of domestic skills, it was obvious both girls would become excellent wives and mothers in the future.
"Emma, add more wood to the fireplace."
"Okay."
Working together with Espurr, Emma fed more logs into the hearth until the flames burned brighter.
Meanwhile, Korrina turned on the television in the living room.
The program airing happened to be Galar’s most popular form of entertainment:
Pokémon battles.
"Champion Leon!"
"Champion Leon has sent out his ace, Charizard!"
"It’s over!!"
"The winner is Champion Leon!"
"He has successfully achieved his fiftieth consecutive victory this year!"
"This is Galar’s pride!"
"The undefeated Champion—Leon!!!"
Listening to the commentator’s excited shouting, Sora couldn’t help but marvel.
Even here in remote Freezington, communication technology was still excellent.
"Leon."
Korrina looked at the screen.
"So this is Galar’s strongest trainer?"
"Is he really that powerful?"
"Leon is extremely strong."
Sora was preparing ingredients alongside Buneary while speaking.
"If you ranked all regional Champions together,"
"Leon would at least make the top three."
