Noah’s POV

I’m on my knees at the foot of the bed.

I’ve always imagined myself on my knees in a foreign place, but this is not what I imagined doing. I imagined well...doing things that will not be named during this prayer session.

’Giving head’ an unrecognizable voice says in my head and I ignore the intrusive thought. It’s just safe to say I didn’t imagine myself praying like this.

I’m only doing this because I’ve become a full-fledged criminal.

Taesan and his cute omega disappeared hours ago, and although we didn’t get any instructions to stay or leave, we’re now in a bedroom together with our bags unpacked. Elias has made himself comfortable on the bed while I panic, and the worst part of it is Kai. That guy left this room a few minutes ago and returned with three bottles of cold water...I highly doubt he got permission to take them. We are stealing alongside committing the heinous act of breaking and entering.

"Forgive us, Goddess. You can punish them, but not me. I’m innocent. I’m a criminal by accompanying them. I’m a good person, I did everything good in the temple. While other kids messed around, I hosted fundraising events..."

"And you fucked in the temple" Elias adds and Kai groans.

"I did not need to know that" the youngest Deus complains and I refuse to open my eyes or lift my head. I need to really purge myself of the insanity these people carry around like it’s their family heritage.

"Also, I was a good kid all my life--" I continue to pray.

"You fucked and got pregnant in the purification basin" Elias interrupts me again and I throw a pillow at him.

"What is your problem?" I hiss.

"I want you."

"Want him when you’re alone, Elias. What the fuck?" Kai asks and turns up the volume of what he’s watching on his phone. It sounds Korean, so I give Elias a glare before getting off the floor. He can go f word himself. I’m going back to my good boy days.

"What are you seeing?" I ask Kai and join him on the couch. It’s a narrow couch but looking at it now, Kai isn’t that big. Sure he’s all long limbs and I-will-crush-you energy, but he’s pretty petite for his height. I can’t wait to know who he’d fall in love with. I do hope he wouldn’t force himself into being with an omega for society sake.

"The Smile Has Left Your Eyes" he says with a sigh.

"Huh?" I ask as I touch the corner of my eyes.

"That’s the name of the movie, Noah. The Smile Has Left Your Eyes" he says like he’s exasperated.

"That sounds pretty depressing" I murmur and he gives me a chilly glare. This close, I realize something about baby Deus. His eyes are pale blue like Siren’s. He’s his mother’s carbon copy but has his dad’s nose. His eyes are red-rimmed like he’s stopping himself from crying.

"The longer you look at me, the stronger the urge to hit you" he says and I bop his nose instinctively. Oh my Goddess...why the hell did I do that?

"I..." I start to explain as he stares at me with open mouth.

"Did you just..."

"Blame it on the baby fever. I’m a pregnant omega" I say quickly and Kai grinds his teeth. He looks like he’s trying to be mad at me. Every time I get close to this guy, in my eyes, he turns into an oversized tiger cub.

"To be fair, you’re pretty adorable" my mouth expresses my thoughts and he growls.

"Elias I will kill your mate" he says and I jump out of the seat with a yelp. Kai tries to snag the end of my hoodie, but I move out of the way quickly. I hate you, Freya, but thank you for the agility trainings you gave me as a kid.

"ELIAS!" I yell my husband’s name. "Save me!" I say and he crosses his legs with a relaxed shrug.

"You left me for a block of ice" he says and I give him the middle finger. That simple act gets his attention, because he sits up immediately and growls at me. "Angel, you keep getting naughtier."

"Hmm, I wonder why" I purr and Kai groans even louder.

"Take your kinks away from me! I’m just nineteen" the poor guy says.

"Shut up" Elias says to his baby brother and I raise both of my hands in surrender. I don’t have the brain cells for this. Actually, I need a walk right now.

"I’m leaving both of you. Bye" I announce and walk out of the room. Luckily, none of them follow me out. Phew. The Deus are really different from the image the world has painted of them.

’The Gods? Shhh. If you say their names three times, they’ll appear and murder you in cold blood.’

’They are lawless. They invaded my home and took all the omegas. I saw them torture the sheriff by forcing his omega into an early heat.’

’They sit around a circle stone table, dressed in all black, and drink blood from cups. I saw them with my own eyes! Why else do you think they called the Gods?’

Looking back...those rumors and words are absolutely ridiculous. I know they are evil enough to do a lot of messed up things, I’ve seen them in action with my own eyes, but at the end of the day...they’re men. I actually believe the sheriff-torture rumor, I also believe the rumor of them taking away the omegas, but the rest? They’re baseless.

The Deus are a family not a cult.

"A family of psychopaths" I murmur under my breath as I do what I do best; Wander aimlessly. I already know trouble is not far from me. I always end up in trouble when I do something like this, yet it doesn’t stop me from doing it again.

As I continue to walk, I go down a stair, keep on walking and end up at the door of what seems to be a kitchen.

I pout as I smell something spicy and mouthwatering. I place my hand on my grumbling belly and lick my lips...I want some of that nice meal.

I peek into the kitchen and find Taesan with Seoha.Dear Goddess, their size difference is insane. I wonder how they...do biology things. How can Taesan even knot Seoha properly? I’d pass out if this man touches me with one finger.

The alpha hugs Seoha from behind and as he caresses his mate’s pregnant belly, I watch them with tenderness in my heart. They look so cute together that I don’t want to cause any trouble or interrupt them, so I quietly peel away from the door, and start to walk away.

"ARGHH!" someone screams and I freeze in place. Oh no. A lady who looks about my age is pointing a finger at me. She looks absolutely horrified as she says the next word.

"S-s-SPY!"

Uh-oh.
