Pregnant Cultivator, Doted by Big Boss
Chapter 563 - 561: Move Again and I’ll Kick You Off the Bed
Chapter 563: Chapter 561: Move Again and I’ll Kick You Off the Bed
Javier Sinclair was lying in bed, one arm wrapped around her waist. She leaned against him, her elbow propped on his chest and her hand resting against her cheek.
Celeste Grant’s eyes fell upon his face, only to see that he was already watching her. She reached out and tapped his forehead. "Hey, where are you looking? I’m talking to you."
"I’m listening," he said in a low voice. "Go on, my dear." As he spoke, his hand slid up from her waist, his fingers trailing from her shoulder to her pale neck.
Celeste Grant blushed at his touch and said his name through gritted teeth.
"Javier Sinclair."
He simply raised an eyebrow.
"Mm, I’m here."
His voice was deep and magnetic, laced with indulgence.
Celeste Grant grabbed his hand and pinned it down.
"Move again, and I’ll kick you under the bed."
"Then I won’t move."
Lying there, Javier Sinclair’s gaze lingered on the woman before him. ’My wife is so beautiful, even when she’s threatening me.’ This time, however, he remained perfectly still.
Leaning against him, Celeste Grant got down to business. Thinking of that system, she began, "What I wanted to talk to you about is the system. The one bound to that child from the General’s Mansion is problematic. Its main purpose for appearing in The Mortal Realm is to absorb fate to sustain itself."
She paused briefly before continuing, "At first, the system absorbs an individual’s fate, then a nation’s. As it does, the system’s power grows stronger, and its ultimate goal must be the World Power. This World Power is the very core of a world. If it’s drained dry, the world will collapse, and its countless living beings will be annihilated. With such an evil method, who do you think could be behind it?"
Hearing this, Javier murmured, "Then there’s only one possibility. If you gather enough world energy, you can cultivate the Power of Laws and maybe even achieve godhood. The person behind this system is absorbing World Power to cultivate. They’re simply trying to take a shortcut to becoming a god."
Celeste Grant froze for a moment.
’I’d figured they were absorbing World Power to cultivate and get stronger, but I never imagined they were so ambitious they’d use the methods of an Evil Cultivator to try and become a god.’
"Fuck... I can’t believe a Cultivation method like this even exists."
Javier Sinclair explained, "Using World Power to cultivate is a dangerous and ancient Forbidden Technique. Although it offers a chance at godhood, the user is far more likely to become a mindless, evil creature."
Celeste Grant nodded slowly.
She looked up at Javier Sinclair and said softly, "In other words, if we don’t eliminate the person behind this, they’re guaranteed to become a scourge in the future."
’Anyone who can cultivate such an ancient Forbidden Technique with the goal of becoming a god is bound to be formidable. It’s best to strike first and eliminate any chance for them to grow stronger.’
’I have family and friends to protect. In a situation like this, I have to nip the problem in the bud. Anything that threatens them shouldn’t be allowed to exist.’
At this thought, she turned to Javier Sinclair. "Shouldn’t we do something about this? I don’t care who they are. Cultivating this kind of Evil Technique, stepping on the lives of countless beings to become a god? Unacceptable."
Javier Sinclair’s gaze rested on her as his hand gently stroked her hair. "My dear," he said softly, "you certainly worry about a lot, don’t you?"
Celeste Grant rolled her eyes at him. "This isn’t ’worrying,’ it’s taking precautions. If someone is cultivating this Evil Technique, it means there’s definitely more than one of these bootleg systems out there. They’ve been sent to other worlds, and the harm they’re causing is significant. The lives of ordinary people matter. They shouldn’t be used as stepping stones on someone else’s Cultivation path. We have to find an opportunity to capture the person behind this and put an end to the problem for good."
Javier Sinclair hummed in agreement.
"Whatever you say. As long as it’s what my dear wants, I have no objections."
"Alright, then it’s settled."
A thought then occurred to her, and she asked, "Oh, right. Can you directly recall the systems that have been sent to other worlds? Now that we’ve found out about them, we should destroy these systems that run by absorbing a nation’s fate as soon as possible. They shouldn’t be allowed to exist. Otherwise, they’ll eventually start siphoning World Power."
’Celeste Grant wasn’t against the existence of systems in principle. For many, having a system was a dream come true. It was like having a permanent cheat code; life just kept getting better. But that was only if the systems weren’t out to destroy worlds. Otherwise, she’d shatter every last one she came across.’
With her current abilities, she could only destroy the systems by traveling to each of those worlds individually. She couldn’t recall them all at once, which was why she was asking Javier Sinclair. With his power, it should be an easy task.
And just as she expected, the moment she finished speaking, she heard Javier Sinclair say, "I can. It’s a simple matter."
As he spoke, Javier Sinclair extended his hand, palm open. The very next moment, he reached into the void and pulled the systems out.
They were clusters of glowing energy orbs, each entangled with wisps of black energy. The orbs emerged from spatial rifts, then shrank to the size of quail eggs and floated above Javier Sinclair’s palm.
Seeing this, Celeste Grant couldn’t help but swear under her breath.
"Holy shit..."
"That was so fast?"
She sat up, moving to his side. Her eyes drew closer, fixated on the orbs in his hand.
’Their aura is identical to the one I captured and modified,’ she thought, carefully examining the orbs floating above his hand. ’This means they’re all from the same batch, from the same creator.’
Celeste Grant noticed that among the systems, some had very weak energy, while others were very strong.
Her eyes swept over the orbs one by one, and Celeste Grant couldn’t help but gasp. "There are so many? There must be over thirty of them. If we hadn’t discovered this, how many innocent lives would have been lost?" Just looking at them sent a chill down her spine.
"Thank goodness we found them," she murmured, grabbing Javier Sinclair’s wrist. "Things like this shouldn’t exist. Destroy them."
The moment she finished speaking, Javier Sinclair gently closed his hand into a fist. Instantly, the orbs floating above his palm dissipated into nothingness. When he opened his fingers again, several wisps of pure golden energy hovered above them.
The sight of it made her body instinctively crave it.
"What is this?"
"The fate of nations. It’s what those things were siphoning."
He mentioned it casually, but Celeste Grant knew exactly what it was. The fate of nations... used in Elyndra, this power could make a country prosper and flourish, nourishing its countless living beings.
Celeste Grant took one look and said, "You should return it. Since it’s the fate of nations, it should stay where it belongs and continue to bless its people."
Javier Sinclair hummed in agreement.
"Alright."
With a light wave of his hand, the wisps of pure golden national fate floating above his palm vanished through a spatial rift once more.
