Pregnant Cultivator, Doted by Big Boss
Chapter 679: Developing the Demon Realm
And that was exactly the case.
Elder Lawson and Elder Warren, the very definition of born workaholics, couldn’t stay idle for a moment. As soon as the independent R&D department was established, they immediately began their lives as the kings of the grind.
They had already mastered the core technologies, so things like phones and the Spiritual Net Array were child’s play for them. Plus, since the entire Demonic Domain had been relocated, they didn’t have to start from scratch and could get right to work. All they needed were enough resources and manpower to self-sufficiently expand their operations.
And so, with the Bloodfiend Den as the epicenter, large-scale, assembly-line factories for manufacturing phones began to be built across the thirty-seven domains of the Demon Realm. After all, their territory had expanded, and the production capacity of the Bloodfiend Den alone was certainly no longer enough.
Once they had phones, they needed a Spiritual Network.
Elder Lawson personally led a team to conduct on-site inspections in each domain, after which they inscribed and installed the Spiritual Net Arrays. Just like that, the Spiritual Network’s coverage extended across the entire Demon Realm.
Aside from the standard business expansion, Celeste Grant didn’t forget to put some effort into agriculture.
Compared to the Immortal Realm, the Demon Realm was relatively poor. The prosperous areas were certainly unaffected, but in the remote, forgotten corners, there were still people who couldn’t get enough to eat, living as skin and bones just for a few Cultivation Resources.
This was something she could not tolerate.
The Demon Realm was her family’s domain, and its people were her subjects. People going hungry on her own turf? That was absolutely unacceptable.
She immediately established an agricultural department dedicated solely to farming.
Mainly, it was because she saw that more than half of the land in the Demon Realm lay fallow. ‘Where there’s land, there are crops. Where there are crops, there’s food.’ Spiritual Medicines, Spirit Rice, and Spirit Fruits were all money—all of them were excellent resources for raising one’s Cultivation. ‘It’s like they’re sitting on a mountain of gold and don’t know how to use it,’ she thought. ‘It’s painful to watch.’
Seeing that she planned to develop the agricultural sector, an elderly female elder from the Sylvan Clan came to confer with her. For a long time, she too had wanted to make use of the Demon Realm’s fallow lands to grow food, but her efforts had been in vain.
“Mrs. Sheffield, most of the land in our Demon Realm is influenced by Demonic Qi and is unsuitable for planting.”
Celeste Grant nodded slightly. “The very fact that it’s unsuitable is what we need to solve. As long as there is land, it can be farmed. All things in creation have their counters, and the land is no different. Don’t worry, when it comes to farming, my homeland is quite the authority.”
She firmly believed that there was no land that couldn’t be farmed. If there was, it was only because they hadn’t found the right method, or they had the wrong people doing the farming.
The Demon Realm was so vast, its lands so extensive. If they could get the agricultural sector off the ground, then the Demon Realm could become truly prosperous.
To that end, Celeste Grant took Nerida and the others to various parts of the Demon Realm to begin her survey. Starting with the geographical environments, she meticulously recorded every detail, leaving nothing out.
There were places in the Demon Realm rich in Spiritual Energy, where various Spiritual Medicines and Spirit Plants were grown. But in the areas with dense Demonic Qi and toxic miasma, apart from poisonous herbs and venomous creatures, the land was mostly barren.
After conducting on-site inspections everywhere, her eyes lit up. “So that’s how it is.”
Celeste Grant discovered that it wasn’t that nothing could grow on this land; it was just that the land was particular about what it grew. They needed to determine what was suitable for planting in which location. For example, a Spirit Plant that thrived on Spiritual Energy would certainly not grow in a place teeming with toxic miasma. Conversely, a Spiritual Medicine that was supposed to grow in places with toxic miasma would have an even harder time growing in a location rich with Spiritual Energy.
Besides the geographical environment, factors like climate and temperature were also key.
That was the first point. As for the second, even if some lands truly couldn’t grow anything, she still had a solution.
There was a technique called grafting.
And another called cross-breeding.
So, it was time to show them some real techniques.
Celeste Grant put Pip in charge of the agricultural sector.
Pip and its clansmen were already at the absolute pinnacle when it came to farming. Therefore, putting Pip in charge of the agricultural department was the perfect fit. ‘Let the professionals handle the professional work.’ A talent like Pip deserved to be in a suitable position where it could truly shine.
In the entire Demon Realm, no one was better at farming than those wintergourds. As for Celeste Grant, she merely provided some guidance and technical direction from the sidelines.
For the sake of the Demon Realm’s agricultural enterprise, she even dug out a few agricultural encyclopedias from a corner of her Storage Ring. They were filled with all sorts of agricultural knowledge, but the people of the Demon Realm couldn’t read the script of Earth. So, she taught them as she went, orally relaying the knowledge for them to learn.
Although she herself only had a partial understanding of these techniques, at least she could provide a direction. Plus, the Demon Realm had no shortage of master growers with immense agricultural talent. As long as the direction was correct, she was fairly confident of success.
And indeed, that proved to be the case.
After she vigorously developed the agricultural sector, those once-barren lands in the Demon Realm were revitalized with new life.
She utilized the areas with especially dense toxic miasma to plant various Demon Plants, as well as rare treasures adapted to grow in Demonic Qi. Never mind the more normal places; even in the lava-filled deadlands of the Demon Clan, where not a blade of grass grew, she was able to introduce Fire Lotuses for cultivation, and they thrived splendidly.
Originally, a rare treasure like the Fire Lotus would only grow deep within the earth, but now she had them planted over a large area in those deadlands. Everything was proceeding normally.
「Six months later.」
The Demon Realm entered an era of phones, the Spiritual Network, and even video streaming.
Now, commerce was flourishing, agriculture was thriving, and all sorts of rare treasures were in inexhaustible supply. The new agricultural products made their way into every household in the Demon Realm. For instance, the grafted Spirit Fruits grew large and red. The cross-bred Spirit Rice grains were plump and full, with yields several times higher than before.
“It’s our blessing that the Demon Realm has such a wonderful Mrs. Sheffield.”
“We thank The Exalted One, and we thank Mrs. Sheffield.”
“Yes! Mrs. Sheffield truly considers every little thing for us and genuinely keeps us in her heart. And our Young Master personally led people to various parts of the Demon Realm to implement road construction projects. They didn’t just build roads; they also established trading markets of all sizes. Now, even other clans come to our remote regions to trade. I feel like life is getting better and better.”
In the future, who would dare say their Demon Realm was poor?
The Demon Realm no longer lacked Cultivation Resources.
The Demon Realm hadn’t been badly off before, but life was certainly not as good as it was now. All of this was brought to them after Mrs. Sheffield arrived.
The people of the Demon Realm saw everything Celeste Grant had done, and they were deeply grateful. They now respected her not just because she was the lady of the Demon Realm and the wife of The Exalted One, but also because her personal charisma had won them all over. Now, beyond their reverence, there was a fondness that came from the bottom of their hearts.
Having been in the Demon Realm for half a year, Celeste Grant had won the love and respect of all its people. In response to this, she could only tell herself, ‘Stay low-key. Gotta stay low-key.’
