Chapter 1708: The Ice Emperor’s Rebirth
Chapter 1708: The Ice Emperor’s Rebirth
Word of what had happened to the Grand Arcane Mage Sect spread throughout the Eastern Region, reaching as far as the wind could carry it.
Yet again, Kent’s name was associated with such a horrific event. It was as if, after his name appeared on the three Dao Tablets, his fame never seemed to die down.
Many who heard what had happened could only shake their heads and wonder if things could have gone any better.
Kent showed them all what he was capable of, and that alone proved to them that, just as he defeated the sect elders, he could just as easily defeat the entire sect and lay waste to everything.
This wake-up call prompted them all to become extra careful when dealing with him in the future.
Meanwhile, after ensuring Gaia and her team were properly introduced, Kent left with Sahir, travelling several light-years to a planet devoid of human life.
The planet was covered in ice, so freezing that, had it not been for Kent possessing Absolute Ice, they would have frozen to death the moment they came within 20 kilometres of it.
However, against all odds, he pushed forward, and after a few days traversing the frigid depths of the frozen planet, they arrived at a crystal clearing where, aside from giant crystal stones and walls, nothing else could be seen.
The structure looked like an ancient ritual ground. The arrangement seemed as though it had served a purpose a very long time ago.
Indeed, this place was sacred and once belonged to the Ice Emperor, but it was created by Kevin Sage. Back during the Ice Era, Kevin Sage set out one day to search for the core of a very powerful ice beast to use in alchemy.
During his search, he stumbled upon this Ice Planet.
Back then, a tribe of Ice Humans lived there.
When Kevin Sage arrived, he discovered that this tribe had been living on the frigid planet for as long as they could remember. They had no idea there were worlds and people beyond their own.
His arrival changed that and led him to Sahir, who was the tribal chief’s son at the time. Back then, the strongest member of the tribe was only a True Immortal. He was also a mage, with the strongest among them being a Master Mage.
Sahir was the useless son of the tribe chief. Even though he had managed to reach the Heavenly Ascension Stage, he was only able to cast a single spell circle, making him the least talented member of the tribe.
But when he met Kevin Sage, his story changed.
Kevin saw his true potential and, using the Ice Emperor Platform he had built for the tribe, he awakened his Bloodline and Physique, unleashing his talent upon the universe.
Today, he had brought him back to this very platform to unlock his memories and awaken his talent once again.
When they stepped onto the platform, it hummed, and spell circles began to manifest.
Sahir, who had always dreamed of being able to cast spells using spell circles, admired the sudden awakening, and for a moment, he smiled.
"Don’t worry. Very soon, you will become a Supreme Mage, one of the greatest in the entire universe. You once stood at the peak of the Mage World, commanding an army of over one hundred million ice mages.
In fact, you were one of the three Supreme Ice Mages back then, so relax. Soon, the universe will welcome you, just as I told you the last time."
Kent’s words caused Sahir to look at him and sigh.
"You keep speaking as if you know me from a life I never lived. Just who are you...?"
Kent smiled, walked closer to Sahir, and placed a hand on his shoulder.
"My name in this life is Kent Madson. However, a very long time ago, I was known as Kevin Sage. In that life, you were my sworn brother.
We fought many battles together and saved each other countless times. The day you died, you created the greatest spell the universe had ever seen. You, my friend, created the legendary Ice Emperor Descent, a spell formed from one hundred spell circles."
Sahir looked at Kent intently for a few seconds before bursting into resounding laughter.
"Please, if this is a dream, then it should end. I have been dreaming of this other Sahir for years, but it seems today’s dream is a bit out of hand."
Kent smirked and laughed as well.
"It is indeed out of hand, so why don’t you get your ass to the centre of the platform so we can start what we came here for?
Remember, you promised to beg your sister to marry me, so the faster we get this done, the faster I can become the husband of the Immortal Ice Maiden."
Kent laughed even louder and watched Sahir shake his head, smile, and then walk to the centre of the platform.
"Remember, when you wake up, you will become a completely different yet somehow the same person. Do well not to overexert your ice element unless you wish to kill me like you nearly did the last time."
Kent waved his hand, and a staff alongside a blue core appeared, radiating a rather unique aura.
When he received the quest and saw that the Grand Eternal Ice Staff and the Dominion of Life Core were the rewards, he had nearly cursed at the universe for showing favouritism.
The two items were both things that would restore Sahir to his peak state, and, based on his determination, he might even rise higher.
Kent wished he had received the same treatment as well. By now, he would have already become a Celestial. However, he understood that, unlike Sahir, who had lived only one life, he had lived thirteen different lives.
He couldn’t just use one of them to improve himself. He had to walk those paths again and slowly return to his peak.
So, with the items in hand, he channelled his energy into them, and a few seconds later, they transformed into beams of light and entered Sahir’s body.
He passed out immediately. Then a forest of ice cocooned around him, encasing him in its frigid embrace.
The moment he was encased, his rebirth ceremony began.
Kent stepped back and waited. At this point, all he could do was wait and watch what would happen.
Time soon passed, and before long, five days had gone by. Over those days, Kent could sense a powerful presence slowly growing inside the cocoon.
That was Sahir returning to his peak.
He continued to wait, knowing that the legendary Ice Emperor would soon return to the universe once more.
Three days later, the first crack appeared, and the universe rejoiced.
