Chapter 1733: Heaven’s Breath Crystal
Chapter 1733: Heaven’s Breath Crystal
"300 Billion,"
"340 Billion."
The price of the map fragment had already risen so high that many people started to drop out. After all, the chance to get their hands on the map, which would lead them to a great treasure, would also deprive them of the chance to win treasures available at the auction.
In their opinion, it was always better to fight for what was right in front of them than to hope for something that was only assumed to exist.
What if, after everything, the map leads them to a dead end?
The moment remained tense for a few minutes before the final bid of 600 billion was placed by a man inside VIP Room 45.
"Sold to the gentleman in VIP Room 45!"
"Yes!" the man shouted, feeling delighted to have secured such a priceless treasure. If given the chance, he would ensure that only his people got their hands on the Grand Mage Key when the Chaos Rift opened.
Obtaining such a treasure would push his power to a whole different level.
If only he knew that people had already started planning how to get their hands on the map the moment the auction ended. Inside the auction house, he was safe.
Once he stepped outside, however, people could do whatever they wanted to him, and he would have his own strength to defend himself.
"Would this gentleman like to pay now and collect his prize, or would you prefer to wait until the auction is over?" Lady Wu asked, and the man immediately replied,
"I will pay now."
"Great. Then the item will be delivered to your room shortly." The map was carried away by a maid, and the next item was brought onto the stage by two maids.
Inside the glass chamber was a pentagonal crystal featuring three colours: blue, white, and gold.
It was suspended in midair inside the glass chamber, which was at least as tall as a teenage human, making it appear even more regal and mysterious.
After it was set down, everyone quieted down to listen to what Lady Wu had to say about it.
Of course, the knowledgeable ones like Kent had already determined the nature of the crystal and had already made up their minds to fight for it.
"This is the Heaven’s Breath Crystal, a crystal formed from the very breath of the heavens. It is said to contain a strand of the Heavens’ Dao, as well as mysterious knowledge that leads to a place within the Primordial Chaos housing a very powerful treasure.
However, this knowledge is locked behind a very powerful seal, one that even Celestials have failed to break. But that is only a minor setback when one focuses on the Dao hidden within it.
Simply cultivating beside it will enhance your understanding of the laws and even improve your Dao, as long as you can comprehend it.
Aside from that, absorbing even a small chunk of it will enhance all your attributes, accelerate your cultivation, cleanse your soul and karma, aid in refining pills and treasures, and lastly, allow you to absorb Chaos Energy.
Even if the seal remains unbreakable, its other uses are boundless."
Many nodded at Lady Wu’s words, knowing full well that those benefits alone were enough to drive people into a frenzy. The crystal was large enough to refine at least four treasures or a dozen pills.
"The bidding starts at 150 billion, and each increase must be at least 50 billion."
Everyone shifted to the edge of their seats and waited for her to begin the bidding. The moment she gave the go-ahead, everyone scrambled.
"300 Billion!"
The price instantly doubled, a clear sign that the battle is on.
"400 Billion!"
"500 Billion!"
Kent changed his posture, his gaze locked onto the Heaven’s Breath Crystal. Inwardly, he held a smile on his face as he stared at the message the Tower had displayed before him.
[Master, this crystal can be used to upgrade Sir Veydris and the other Lost Knights.]
’Finally,’ Kent smiled inwardly and asked a question, ’How many of them can be upgraded using this Heaven’s Breath Crystal?’
[Because only Sir Veydris has been upgraded once, if this crystal is used well, we can upgrade him to the True Immortal Realm, while the rest will be upgraded to the Heavenly Ascension Stage. There is even a chance Sir Veydris will awaken some innate talents and be able to speak or take on his humanoid form.]
’That is good enough. I am sure that by the end of this auction, we will get other minerals like this that can help us make them strong enough.’
[That is possible.]
’In that case, do we have enough money to go all out?’
[Yes. The Master shouldn’t worry about his finances right now. We have more than enough to win this bid.]
Kent nodded and turned his attention back to the auction proceedings, where the bid had already reached 900 billion. Soon, the next two bids pushed it to a trillion.
"1.2 trillion," someone placed a bid, and many quieted down. However, Kent smiled and added his bid.
"1.5 trillion."
More people quieted down, but a few others remained, some raising it by a few billion while others with deep pockets raised it by even more.
Kent remained calm, paying attention to the repeated voices and to those who, like him, had only just started bidding.
"2 trillion," the bid rose again, and Kent immediately pushed it further.
"2.2 trillion."
"2.4 trillion," a voice that had just joined the bidding raised the price again. However, Kent remained unfazed and raised it as well.
"2.7 trillion."
"3 trillion."
Veth and Flura furrowed their brows upon hearing a new voice join the bidding. Kent also smiled and tried to use his Omniscient Jade Eyes to look through the formation. However, he saw that something external was blocking him from doing so.
Regardless, he knew he had to man up, so he took the bid to another level.
"3.7 trillion."
He wasn’t even done when the person raised the bid again.
"4 trillion."
"4.5 trillion."
"5 trillion."
"5.5 trillion," Kent raised it further, causing everyone inside the auction house to start murmuring. The person Kent was competing against was someone many recognised by her voice and knew came from the Blacksmith Association.
In fact, she was one of the few Platinum Badge Immortal Blacksmiths in the Eastern Region, Lady Khronisia. She was highly respected, and many wished to be in her good books.
In fact, she was set to take her first Blacksmith God Trial, and if she passed, she would become a Blacksmith God.
So while the auction stated that one could not use one’s name or position to intimidate others, many still paid attention to certain people and tried their best not to offend them.
Kent clearly didn’t care about that. But even if he did, he wouldn’t pass up the chance to upgrade his 14 Lost Knights, one of his legions.
The 14 Lost Knights were his smallest yet most dangerous legion. In the past, they fought to protect the innocent, giving their lives to ensure that every last soul under their care remained safe and sound.
They had lived during the Divine Era.
Back then, his incarnation, Lord Genesis, found the 14 knights. They were at the brink of death when he found them. In fact, dozens of them had already died, and only 14 remained.
He saved them and helped them return to their peak. Later, he gave each of them an inheritance meant for knights. During the last War of Sanguine, they all perished, but not before saving every last one of the Lost Children of the Mother.
Jest died a few years after that, but he was proud of every last one of them for their bravery.
He wouldn’t pass up the chance to bring them back to life... not even for someone as respected and powerful as Lady Khronisia.
"6 trillion..."
