The rules were there, but when the offence was not directed at anyone, no harm was caused.
"I never knew a day would come when someone wouldn’t give face to the mighty Blacksmith Association," someone said, making sure Kent became aware of the person he was bidding against.
"I know, right? To think there is someone alive with that many balls. Makes me wonder who they are, though," another person joined in.
"Maybe they are not from this region, so they don’t know how things are done over here."
"It seems so. But again, he should give face to a senior. While the Heaven’s Breath Crystal is one of a kind, letting his ego get in the way of greatness is something he shouldn’t entertain."
Kent heard everything they were saying, but he didn’t even bother to consider offering the Heaven’s Breath Crystal to the person he was bidding against.
Slowly, the price reached 10 trillion, and for the first time, the lady bidding against Kent didn’t raise the price. Instead, a calm and almost soothing voice came from VIP room 69...
"It appears today is not the day I, Khronisia, am destined to have such a priceless treasure," she said, letting a chuckle end her statement, which, from where Kent sat, sounded like a threat packaged in a bag of sweetness.
She mentioned her name to intimidate him. However, she clearly didn’t know she was the one who should be afraid.
The moment she said those words, everyone turned their heads toward VIP room 13 to hear Kent’s reply.
Initially, he didn’t want to reveal his identity. After all, he was here to surprise Lady Wu. However, he knew Lady Wu had already discovered his identity simply from how he behaved around Veth and Flura.
Since he had lost the element of surprise against her, he might as well use that surprise somewhere else.
Letting a small smile form on his face, he replied, "In that case, I, Kent Madson, would have to thank this senior for her generosity."
Eyes widened, and jaws dropped when they heard Kent introduce himself.
Inside VIP room 69, Lady Khronisia narrowed her eyes at VIP room 13. For a moment, she had doubt, but then she recognised where they were causing her to turn pale.
Clearly, she had become regretful that she had tried to outbid someone she had actively searched for months after Kent’s name appeared on the Ice Dao Tablet.
She was a very good and respected blacksmith. Because of this, she had access to many places and things that many others did not.
So when she learned someone had appeared on the Ice Dao Tablet, she first asked who. When she found out it was the legendary Kent Madson, so she tried to find him, not because she intended to suppress him, but because she needed his help.
It was well known that the only way to get on the Ice Dao Tablet or any elemental Dao Tablet was to comprehend a True Name of the element.
In all of the universe’s history, only 24 Ice cultivators had managed to do that, and all of them were legendary figures, so she couldn’t get to them easily.
However, Kent was within her realm, meaning getting to him was as simple as sending people to fetch him.
She needed his help in creating a masterpiece, one she intended to leave as her mark in the Immortal World before ascending. She needed his Ice element, one that possessed a True Name, for that masterpiece.
If she had known the person she was competing against was the same person whose help she needed, she wouldn’t have pressed on like that.
She looked at her palm and was about to slap herself when Kent spoke again...
"Sorry for pressing on, Senior, but I really needed Heaven’s Breath Crystal. However, learning that you are a blacksmith, I am willing to give you a chunk. I hope that makes up for my unruly behaviour."
Lady Khronisia was a bit stunned for a moment. She clearly never expected Kent to apologise. However, since he did, and to keep up her composure, she sighed and replied to him.
"No need to apologise, Kent Madson. The Heaven’s Breath Crystal is a heavenly treasure, so it is perfectly normal to bid for it. However, I do wonder what you intend to do with it.
As far as I know, you are a swordsman and an alchemist, so blacksmithing isn’t a field you dabble in. But even if you need it for alchemy, you wouldn’t be able to use it until you become a Pill God, so care to share with me what you intend to use it for?"
Kent smiled and replied, "Well, I dabble in many things, but you are right, I am no blacksmith. However, I know how to refine weapons." He paused for a moment, staring at the message before his vision...

And that was only natural because the Heaven’s Breath Crystal was far more valuable than the map fragment. So selling it for such a high price was only normal.
