[Four Months Later - Undead Mercenary Guild]

On a normal day, the number of people gathered inside and outside the Undead Mercenary Guild wouldn’t exceed 300.

It is true that one of the go-to places in any Undead Heaven is the Undead Mercenary Guild. But it doesn’t usually attract as many people as it did today.

Of course, the reason for that had to do with what had happened, or rather, what had been happening over the past four months.

Four months ago, an undead mercenary team registered itself under the name Chaos Dragon Undead Mercenary Team. The team consisted of twelve able undead warriors led by the Golden-Haired Divine Titan.

None of them used their real names, mainly for anonymity. However, Kaizo’s unique golden hair had made him a sensation throughout Rex City and the other twelve High Undead Heavens.

His fame only continued to grow as the days passed.

At first, when they registered, nobody really had high hopes for them. High Undead Heavens have a cultivation cap at the Universal God stage.

While Supremes and Celestials can leave and use their powers freely, the hierarchy had been structured in such a way that Gods were the strongest beings in this part of the Undead Realm.

Forming a team without a single God joining it simply wasn’t the kind of team many people would pay attention to.

Two weeks after the team was formed, their name started to spread. That was because they had accepted a Black Mission and completed it.

Completing a Black Mission quickly and naturally attracted attention.

However, things didn’t stop there. Kaizo, who had expected Black Missions in the High Undead Heavens to be on the same level as those in the Supreme and Celestial Undead Heavens, discovered that they weren’t.

High Undead Missions were designed according to the standards of the High Undead Heavens, so the missions weren’t too difficult for them to handle.

Upon discovering this, Kaizo split the team into two, and each group accepted another Black Mission. He led one team while Sylara led the other.

Two weeks later, both teams completed their respective missions, bringing their total to three completed Black Missions. Their reputation skyrocketed, and they soon appeared in the top five of the Undead Mercenary Rankings.

They debuted at number four.

But that soon changed when they completed two more Black Missions, this time taking a month to finish them.

This caused their ranking to jump to second place. Naturally, they had already accomplished their objective of entering the top three. However, Kaizo soon discovered that the mission they had come here for could be accomplished without meeting the Green Bone Oracle first.

Of course, they would still have to meet her for the second part of their mission. But the first part, which involved retrieving the bones of some of their friends, could be accomplished by accepting a Red Mission.

Luckily for them, the mission led to a place they were all too familiar with.

The main reason they had been able to complete the Black Missions so efficiently was that the locations those missions took them to were places they had frequently visited in the past.

In fact, they had lived in most of these places in the past. So while Black Missions were dangerous, they were already familiar with the terrain, making them much easier to complete.

The Red Mission took them to a similar place, and Kaizo, who happened to be the first undead ever created in both this life and his previous one, had once lived there alongside Kent’s past incarnation, Sanders, the Bone Lich Undead Emperor.

Three days ago, word spread that the Chaos Dragon Undead Mercenary Team had completed the Red Mission, something that had only been accomplished once a very long time ago.

This achievement sparked waves of discussion, with many rushing to the Undead Mercenary Guild in hopes of meeting the group of twelve undead warriors.

"Until I see it with my own eyes, I can’t believe a group of twelve Demigods managed to kill the Undead Kraken," one of the people gathered outside the Undead Mercenary Guild said as discussions broke out in every corner.

"I don’t know if that’s jealousy talking or if you’re just an envious undead, but haven’t you heard? Before this Red Mission, they had already completed five Black Missions. Even an idiot can tell they truly have the means to handle such a mission."

"But it’s a Red Mission, and it took place in one of the most dreadful locations too..."

"That is true, but they aren’t the first to survive the Undead Weeping Smoke Sea. Many have survived that place, including Undead Baron Lamine."

"Dude, Lord Lamine had an Ancient accompanying him, and he still didn’t go after the Undead Kraken. They did, so don’t tell me any of this is normal. If anything, they should be investigated. Maybe they cheated."

"Cheated? Do you even hear yourself?"

Just before the discussions grew even more heated, an undead train landed, and twelve people stepped out, instantly capturing everyone’s attention.

Kaizo, with his golden hair and imposing physique, walked at the front, his steps heavy and resolute. Sylara walked behind him, with the rest following closely.

As they approached the Undead Mercenary Guild, the staff members all walked outside, and when the group drew closer, they bowed respectfully to the team that had accomplished the Red Mission.

Kaizo and his team paused.

They scanned the area, taking in the countless reactions around them. A faint smile appeared on the corner of Kaizo’s lips. He rose into the air and spoke.

"Let it be known that the Chaos Dragon Undead Mercenary Team has slain the Undead Kraken and completed the Red Mission in two months."

He waved his hand, and the colossal head of the dreadful beast that had claimed hundreds of thousands of undead lives flew into the air and remained suspended above everyone.

GASPS

All kinds of reactions spread through the crowd, with most people instinctively stepping back in sheer terror. Even in death, the Undead Kraken’s head radiated an overwhelming aura that struck fear into their hearts.

But as their fear gradually subsided, they all came to the same realization.

The Red Mission that countless mercenary teams had accepted over the years, only to fail, had truly been completed by the Chaos Dragon Undead Mercenary Team.
