Chapter 1859: Friends or Enemies

A portal opened inside the Legion Tower, and five people fell out, three landing on the ground while two—one seated on the other’s shoulder and the other passed out in the other’s arms.

Inaya, Baldy, Mak, Ruby, and Safira had appeared inside the tower, leaving the dying Primordials to be attacked by the beast that had been watching their battle.

Inaya never intended to kill them that easily, anyway.

If they survive, then it is their good fortune. If not, then they have themselves to blame for crossing the wife if the Primordial Chaos Dragon.

Her plan had been to use Kent’s authority as the Primordial Chaos Dragon to suppress them long enough so they could escape and go look for Safira.

But in a twist of fate, Safira rather came to them, and for reasons she couldn’t explain, she became possessed by Kent’s power, allowing her not only to buy time but also to leave the two Primordials completely beaten.

She won before the battle even began.

Safira also never expected this to happen.

When she sensed Inaya’s presence because of Kent’s mark on her, she came to investigate. For a moment, she watched them battle the Blood Monkeys. However, things changed when Inaya invoked Chaos’s name.

Under normal circumstances, she would have verified that Inaya was somehow related to Chaos. But she never expected herself to also be pulled into the chaos of the moment.

Now, they had returned to the tower with Safira, the Forsaken Seer they had gone to Amon’s Guillotine Cave for in the first place.

The moment they appeared, the legions, including their sisters who were training in the various arenas, rushed to their side...

"Inaya, what happened?" Ainna asked, staring at the injuries on her best friend’s skin. She had yet to taste the forbidden fruit, but she had been living with Kent’s wives the entire time, even going on missions with them.

Seeing that her friend had sustained injuries and was now holding an unconscious lady in her arms, she panicked.

Luckily, they were just flesh wounds. "I am fine, Ainna. However, she needs more attention." She let go of Safira’s body, allowing her to lie on the lush ground.

Elaine rushed forward, activating her healing abilities instantly. Part of it went to Inaya, while the majority entered Safira’s body.

"Is this the Forsaken Seer Kent sent you to go get?" Neomi asked, looking at Safira’s pale face, which was now even paler due to the strain she had endured in those 30 seconds of being possessed by Chaos’s authority.

"Yes."

"Damn, she is gorgeous," Selene, of course, had to say the obvious. But she wasn’t wrong. Compared to how ugly some of the Forsaken beings were, Safira was akin to an angel.

She has the looks and the body.

But her words were drowned out when, suddenly, heat and the smell of blood came from one side.

Everyone turned only to see Meiko and Ruby staring at each other, their auras clashing. For a moment, the air hung tense. However, Pandora waved her hand, and the two of them lost their ability to harness their power...

"Who are you?" Pandora asked, staring at Ruby, who appeared stunned, having lost her ability. Looking into Pandora’s dark eyes, she panicked.

However, Meiko arrogantly answered on her behalf, "Her name is Ruby, one of the minions who used to follow the Nine Underworld Flame Blacksmith back then." She smirked and added, showing her hatred for the lady,

"She is a demon fox and someone I want to kill very much."

Pandora didn’t take Meiko’s words for it. She had been living with her for a while now, so she knew this feisty sister of hers would say just about anything to get into a fight.

So she turned to Ruby and asked again, "Who are you?"

"My name is Ruby, but during the Flame Era, I was known as the Blood Fox Demoness, one of the people who fought under the banner of the Nine Underworld Flame Blacksmith."

"So you are one of the Hell Devastators," Zaila asked, taking a step forward.

"I was and still am." Ruby then narrowed her eyes and pointed her large crimson sword at Meiko. "I would like to know why you are protecting this bitch. She is my enemy, and I wish to kill her now."

"I am afraid I cannot do that," Pandora said, walking to Meiko’s side. "Hate or love her, she is my sister, so if you want her dead, you have to go through me."

Even though Ruby’s power was suppressed, the killing intent in her eyes said otherwise...

"She is your sister? Are you saying this vixen who caused many to lose their minds is your sister?" A pained laugh came from Ruby’s mouth, causing her killing intent to start leaking...

"This bitch killed my friend simply because she liked the Nine Underworld Flame Blacksmith. Then she went ahead and attacked me simply because I was her friend, so tell me, do you think you can stop me from killing her today?"

"Oh please, you should be grateful I killed that bitch. In case you are not aware, she colluded with one of the Flame Monarchs, and she was going to betray you. Had it not been because you were related to Fjorge, I wouldn’t have minded. So instead of spouting nonsense, be grateful, for I did you a great favor."

"You bitch, you killed her because you were jealous of our friendship and her liking for Fjorge. Or you think just because we used to be friends, you had the right to kill my other friends?"

Meiko giggled. "As a matter of fact, yes. And in case you are wondering, I was also the one who killed your stepsister and your stepmother. Those losers tried to betray you too, and despite hating you with all my guts, we used to be friends, so be grateful again."

"You crazy bitch."

For a tense couple of minutes, the air hung heavy, everyone wondering just what was happening. However, the next second left them all asking what the fuck was going on.

After staring at each other like mortal enemies, the two moved, and in what could be considered the biggest shock ever, they hugged each other.

Lilian narrowed her eyes and asked, "Are they friends or enemies?"
