Chapter 1907: Meiko’s Anger (3)

"If you are watching this, then know we are all dead. I don’t know how they found us, but they did, and now, I am the only one remaining." The man in the display spat a mouthful of blood.

"My lady, I am so sorry I couldn’t protect Lady Inkala from those monsters. I don’t know if they will kill her or enslave her, but I do hope that they kill her, for that would be mercy.

The idea of them enslaving her eats at my sanity and conscience as a person. I will never wish that on even my enemies," He spat blood again.

"I couldn’t do much, but all we have gathered on them is in this manual. If you return one day, please avenge us."

The projection cut, and then the formation changed color, sending a sharp light throughout the room and forcing everyone to shield their eyes.

When it receded, a blood-covered manual appeared, and Meiko, with trembling hands, picked it up and opened it. Her sisters rushed to her side and began reading together.

"They called themselves the Grim Arcane Legends, a secret organization formed by one of the Nine Great Families. At first, they were a mystery, but later on, we discovered that they are tied to the De Marcus Great Family in the Eastern Celestial Zone.

"Apparently, this Great family was affiliated with Inkala, and so they had been searching for her. When we discovered this, we moved her from her planet to the Supreme Realm, but they followed.

"Because of that, we started moving every few years, most of the time traveling between the Supreme Realm and the Celestial Realm.

"However, as the years passed, they gained more ground, and eventually, we had to stand our ground and fight. Safe to say, we failed at that, and now, you can tell how it ended.

"I can’t say much, but I have documented most of the things I have observed. You can use it to find them and, if possible, find Lady Inkala.

"Please tell her we are sorry we couldn’t protect her better."

"BAST—"

Pandora snapped her finger, and Meiko was sucked into the tower. If she had allowed her to continue, the inn would have already been reduced to ashes, and many would have already died by now.

The anger boiling within her was so intense that she would have unknowingly hurt her sisters. So Pandora was quick to act, sending all the damage into the tower, which could self-heal.

"Handle everything here, Vex." With that, Pandora and Unity also vanished into the tower, leaving everything for Vexthra to handle.

They were going to make sure Meiko was all right while the rest continued the mission to find Inkala. Since it hadn’t been confirmed that she was dead, they could only be hopeful for now.

Vexthra flipped through the manual for a few minutes, each page deepening the frown on her face. Eventually, even she couldn’t contain her anger.

"This is bad, really bad," Vexthra said, her fist clenched.

"Everything in here points to a very dangerous organization backed by a very powerful family. It will take years to get to the bottom of things. In fact, I doubt we will be able to find their roots, given that, aside from the Great Family backing them, there are several other underworld organizations affiliated with them."

"Then we kill them all, every last one of them, until there is none left to kill," Ruby proposed, already furious and hungry for blood.

"Relax, Ruby. While we will surely kill a lot of people, we have to find the right people to kill. We can’t just kill indiscriminately. We have to be decisive about it."

"What does being decisive do for us? From where I stand, killing every last one of them sounds about right." Ruby clearly had no plans to back down from good old-fashioned bloodshed.

She was pissed, and it showed in how her hands were twitching.

Dia reached for her hand and hugged her. "Relax, Ruby, we will kill them, every last one of them, even if we somehow find Inkala during the process. But since we have yet to find her, we must be decisive in how we handle things.

"So let Vexthra and Zaila handle the planning while we wait patiently for the killing part. I myself cannot wait to make sure every last soul involved dies the most painful death possible."

Ruby calmed down a bit, giving Vexthra and Zaila the chance to think.

The two had the highest thinking ability in the Chaos Dragon Harem, so they started brainstorming ideas. Soon, something was planned and revealed to their sisters.

"In the manual, it appears the people who were supposed to protect Inkala had some run-ins with the Midnight Shadows. If my gut feeling is right, I think the Midnight Shadows are onto the Grim Arcane Legends, so our best move is to reach out to them.

"Luckily for us, the one who formed the Midnight Shadows is Kent, and inasmuch as we don’t want to involve him, this is life and death, so we have to make him aware and at least set up a meeting for us," Vexthra said, and her sisters nodded.

"I think that will help. So let’s reach out to Kent and see if he can help us."

After a few more discussions, they reached a conclusion, and Vexthra tapped into the connection they shared with Kent. Luckily, where he was, they could speak with him.

She revealed everything that had happened, and after filling him in, he came up with a plan...

"I will contact one of the leaders of the Midnight Shadows and have him meet you. I will send the location of the meeting later, so stand by for now."

They nodded, and after five minutes, Kent reached out again...

"Meet him on Planet Bankari."

"Thank you, dear, you are a lifesaver." Vexthra and her sisters sighed in their hearts, thankful that their man was rather very resourceful...

"Do you ladies need any help?"

"No, dear, we can handle things from here. Focus on your mission."

"Okay. But I have informed Crimson Dagger to be ready for anything, so be sure to use his help where necessary."

They nodded, and after a little more catching up, the connection was severed.

Vexthra and her sisters sighed, and they were about to leave when a commotion came from outside...

"Come out now, my beauties, before I break this place apart and drag you out..."
