Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System
Chapter 1909: Meeting Crimson Dagger
Vexthra and her sisters entered the restaurant and immediately spotted a man clad in a crimson cloak seated at the corner, facing the window.
Kent had already told them what to do and who to look out for.
So the moment they spotted him, they moved toward his table, and when they were close, Vexthra said...
"The black sheep is always..."
The man turned and looked at them, then continued the statement Vexthra had started: "...ready to be slaughtered by the butcher even if it has done nothing wrong."
"So you are Crimson Dagger, the Crimson Dagger?" Vexthra asked, having heard a lot about this man. Although she isn’t a fangirl, it is hard not to be impressed by the feats fo such a legendary figure.
He is part of the seven Supreme Leaders of the Midnight Shadows.
His legendary feats had long since gone down in history, ranking him among some of the greatest assassins to ever walk the face of this universe.
He had done so much that even the universe’s leaders had to respect him, despite him being just a Supreme.
Crimson Dagger looked at Vexthra and smiled. "Pleasure meeting you all, beloved wives of Lord Faceless." He even bowed, which showed that his respect for the Faceless Assassin now extended to his wives.
The legendary Faceless Assassin had long since left his mark in the history books, but the people he left behind still continued to dominate.
The Midnight Shadows remain relevant today.
"Please take your seats. We have a lot to talk about." The ladies sat down, and they got ready to handle the reason why they had come to meet this legendary assassin.
"So what do you have for us?"
Crimson Dagger took out some manuals and put them on the table. "Over the years, the Midnight Shadows had been investigating the Grim Arcane Legends after several reports reached us about some of their illegal activities.
We tried several times to figure out their operations. However, nothing concrete had stood out until recently, when they captured a prominent figure.
Before she was captured, we had some run-ins with her guards, who sought information on the Grim Arcane Legends. Later, we kept tabs on their movements, and so when they captured her, we became aware.
Unfortunately, we were too late to do anything.
But we managed to follow their trail to three places we believe are their strongholds. Even if two are dummy locations, one of them will be their stronghold, and I am sure that is where you ladies would have to go.
The only problem is that they are connected to some very powerful people, so even the Midnight Shadows dare not act recklessly.
That being said, now that we know they had offended the wife of Lord Faceless, we are ready to put everything on the table and do what should have been done several years ago."
Vexthra and her sisters nodded.
They had already reached the conclusion that they would kill every last one of them, and so now that they had some form of a lead, they would not hold back.
That being said, it would take time and effort to accomplish what they had planned.
They needed specifics, and most importantly, they needed to know who would come to the aid of the Grim Arcane Legends should they attack, and how to prevent that from happening.
The last thing they wanted was for a Great Family to come after them when they attacked the Grim Arcane Legends.
"Do you have some names we should be wary of aside from the Great Family they are affiliated with?" Zaila asked, and Crimson Dagger nodded.
"Actually, they are affiliated with two Great Families. It’s just that one of them made their presence known a long time ago. Recently, we received word from some of our spies that the Head of the Weyori Great Family had a meeting with the leaders of the Grim Arcane Legends, and from what was discussed, they planned to make big moves in the coming years."
"Wait, isn’t the Weyori Great Family the same one Meiko came from?" Vexthra asked, her brow furrowed.
"I knew it." Zaila nearly banged the table. "When we saw that projection, I had this nagging feeling that somehow, that scum of a family was involved."
"Meiko isn’t going to be happy about that at all." Dia chuckled. "Already, she had plans to kill every last one of them. If she finds out they were somehow involved in the disappearance of her sister, not even Big Sister Fiannarel can stop her."
"All the more reason we have to get to the bottom of things before revealing the truth to her," Vexthra suggested, and her sisters didn’t even think twice before nodding.
They were pissed, but that didn’t mean they didn’t have their emotions in check.
The last thing they wanted was to go about killing anyone they saw. While the family that had abandoned and looked down on their sister deserved the worst possible ending, they must first have a concrete reason to annihilate them.
"Are there others we should be wary of?"
"Yes. However, most of them can be dealt with by the Midnight Shadows, so for now, you must only be concerned about the two Great Families. Aside from them, we also learned that they have some connection to the Forsaken Race and even our arch-nemesis, the Silent Shadows.
Luckily for us, the only way these people can come to their aid is if we give them an opening to call for help. If we plan well, we can make sure they have their lives to worry about more than calling for help.
But there is a silver lining to all this. Apparently, a very long time ago, the Grim Arcane Legends made their move on the Beast Kingdom, aiming to make it their own, but they were stopped and suffered great losses at the hands of its Guardian.
We discovered that he had captured some of the attackers, who had been imprisoned for years. I am saying this because..."
"If we can get our hands on one of them and interrogate them, we might just figure out where to attack and succeed," Zaila finished Crimson Dagger’s words.
"The only problem is, the Guardian of the Beast Kingdom isn’t someone even the Celestial Supreme can get to. He is among the most dreadful beings in the universe."
Vexthra and her sisters smiled. "Oh, getting to him will be the easiest thing for us."
