Quick Transmigration Cannon Fodder’s Record of Counterattacks
Chapter 3631: Ghosts Everywhere (3)
Ning Shu’s head swayed. After a bout of dizziness, she merged into a body. Ning Shu felt very strange because it felt like she had merged with the body, but also like she had not.
She had never encountered this kind of situation before. Ning Shu opened her eyes, feeling as if her entire body was drifting and floating.
She pinched her body, but only felt a dull pain.
She probably wasn’t a ghost.
She looked around. This was a dormitory. Ning Shu began to receive the plotline while simultaneously starting to cultivate.
Then, Ning Shu discovered that this space was distorted. The magnetic fields were completely unstable. Even some of the things she looked at were deformed.
Moreover, cultivating was completely useless. It served absolutely no purpose. There was no spiritual energy at all, though there was a bit of yin energy.
Could it be that she had entered some sort of supernatural world?
Ning Shu opened her eyes and saw the other three people in the dorm sound asleep. Of course, under the distorted magnetic field, Ning Shu saw them as if their reflections were cast on the surface of the water. Layer upon layer of ripples undulated across the water’s surface, distorting their images.
Ning Shu raised her wrist to look at her watch. She then found that the watch was broken. Furthermore, it was running backward, just as if she was looking in a mirror.
There was basically no storyline. There was only a type of consciousness called ‘I.’
Damn it, it was another one of these bizarre worlds.
The entrustor did not even know her own name. This place appeared to be a university dormitory. Ning Shu looked outside. Dark clouds covered half of the moon, making it look exceptionally gloomy and terrifying.
Ning Shu tried to cultivate, but the chaotic magnetic field made it impossible. What kind of world was this, exactly?
There were shallow breathing sounds in the room. They were the sounds of her three other roommates sleeping.
Ning Shu gently climbed out of bed, preparing to go to the washroom to wash her face.
The washroom in this type of dormitory was a large communal one shared by many people. A faucet had not been closed tightly. The dripping sound of the water seemed extremely eerie in the night.
Ning Shu audibly gulped and walked to the entrance of the washroom. She saw a person standing in front of the long row of sinks, bent over and cupping water to wash their face.
Why didn’t they turn on the lights?
The moment this thought crossed Ning Shu’s mind, the person washing their face suddenly darted right in front of her. It was a very, very eerie clown face. With a bright red nose and heavy, colorful makeup painted on its face, it suddenly leaned in close to Ning Shu and let out a creepy laugh.
Ning Shu was so frightened by this suddenly appearing person that her entire body went numb. Moreover, her body felt as heavy and uncomfortable as if it were filled with lead, and it felt like something was pressing down on her heart.
Ning Shu could not even close her eyes.
Holy shit, she got scared.
Democracy, freedom, prosperity, patriotism, the Eight Honors and Eight Shames…
Ning Shu hastily chanted in her heart. Her body seemed to have lost all control and completely refused to listen to her commands. By the time she opened her eyes again, the clown in the washroom had already disappeared.
Ning Shu was so scared that her bladder suddenly felt the urge to pee.
Ning Shu steeled her heart and went to use the toilet. Surely a living person wouldn’t let themselves die from holding in their pee.
Ning Shu silently recited Daoist exorcism scriptures in her heart. In any case, she now knew that this world was definitely a ghost story.
But what surprised Ning Shu was that, much of the time, she was being controlled by a consciousness called ‘I.’
Even the names of her dorm roommates were a blur to her. She only knew that they were her roommates.
Ning Shu squatted down to relieve herself, but immediately felt a tickling sensation on her butt cheeks, as if something was scratching her bottom.
Ning Shu jumped up so fast she didn’t even have time to pull up her pants. Then, she saw a livid, blueish hand with extremely long nails. This was the exact hand that had been scratching her butt cheeks.
Ning Shu: What the fuck…
Didn’t this ghost have absolutely no shame?
Hiding in the toilet, was the cesspit that fun? She should have dropped a turd right on its hand.
Ning Shu hurriedly pulled up her pants, glanced left and right, grabbed a mop, and slammed it down onto the ghost hand.
Could someone tell her what kind of world this was? It felt like there was no logic or narrative development to speak of.
A clown, a ghost hand, what was next?
Long, dripping wet hair appeared right in front of Ning Shu. Ning Shu touched the water drops and brought her fingers to her nose to sniff. It smelled unbearably foul. What the hell, was this sewage water?
Ning Shu slowly raised her head and saw a woman with an unclear face, seemingly smeared with shit, hanging upside down from the ceiling. There were even maggots crawling around in her eyes, making her face completely unrecognizable.
Prosperity, democracy, harmony, justice, rule of law, world peace, Core Socialist Values protect me, I can’t see anything, I can’t see anything!
Ning Shu thrust the mop right into the female ghost’s face, dropped the mop, and ran out of the washroom. When she stood at the door, her hands formed a hand seal, but there was no spiritual energy in her body, so she had absolutely no way to draw a talisman.
Thump, thump-thump, thump-thump-thump…
The sound of a bouncing rubber ball rang exceptionally clearly in the silent corridor. Even her heartbeat synchronized to this rhythm.
What was it this time?
Ning Shu turned her head and saw a spherical object bouncing toward her under the faint moonlight.
This spherical object bounced over to Ning Shu’s feet and let out the cries of a baby. Then, a headless infant crawled toward Ning Shu.
The child had no head, while the head itself cried out heart-wrenchingly toward Ning Shu.
Why was there a child now? A clown, a female ghost, a child, what else was there?
Ning Shu felt like she was losing her mind.
She watched as the child crawled toward her. Furthermore, the head even rubbed against Ning Shu’s foot and bit it, as if trying to break the skin and suck her blood.
Ning Shu kicked the head far away. “Go over there.”
Ning Shu hurriedly returned to the dorm. It seemed that right now, only the dorm was safe. With a bang, just as Ning Shu reached the door, it suddenly swung wide open and smashed right into her forehead. She felt a dull pain.
“There are zombies inside, zombies, run!” came a roaring voice from within.
Ning Shu looked at the zombie lunging at her. Its gaze was vacant, its eyeballs were the color of fresh lychee flesh, and its movements were shambling.
Why would a zombie appear on the fourth floor?
Ning Shu had no idea why she knew this was the fourth floor, but it just was.
Why was there absolutely no logic, why?
Whatever wanted to appear just appeared. It was simply wildly unconstrained!
Ning Shu also ran away and quickly caught up with her three roommates. Everyone pounded down the stairs, but the main door to the dormitory building was locked shut. The dorm supervisor was currently fast asleep.
Ning Shu looked at the lock and gave it a hard yank, but she failed to break it open.
How could this world be distorted to this extent?
The group could no longer hear the zombie. It seemed as if the zombie from just a moment ago was nothing more than an illusion. But immediately after, a dense swarm of beetles surged toward them. These were corpse bugs, and they swarmed densely toward the people.
One of her roommates was entirely enveloped by these bugs. In barely a second, she was reduced to a white skeleton.
Ning Shu put on a deadpan face. “Oh my god, oh my god, why would these things appear in a dormitory?”
Logic was dead.
