Raising Yanderes to save the world

Chapter 371: The Solution - Part 3

Elena continued to pretend that she did not notice the woman’s advances, maintaining the same calm expression as she answered her questions.

She even went so far as to ask whether the woman had been enjoying the gathering, which seemed to irritate her even more.

The woman had clearly expected a different reaction from Kael.

After all, most men would have either taken the bait or at least shown some sign of interest when a beautiful woman approached them so boldly, even if they had companions or were dating.

She had expected Kael to be no different.

Yet Kael, or rather the woman pretending to be Kael, seemed completely oblivious to her attempts.

‘What is wrong with this man? Is he really not interested in me at all? Is he even a man?’

She gritted her teeth before deciding that she would have to take more drastic measures.

If words and subtle hints were not enough, then she would simply have to make her intentions more obvious.

“Master Kael, you really are a difficult man to approach. I was hoping we could become closer, but you don’t seem to be paying me any attention at all.”

She complained, moving even closer to Elena. Her eyes flickered towards the people around them, as though she wanted to make sure that they were watching, before she finally decided to play her trump card.

She leaned forward, preparing to press herself against Elena’s arm while giving her a look that left little room for misunderstanding.

Unfortunately for her, Elena had already noticed the movement.

‘Oh, fuck, absolutely not.’

The moment the woman shifted her weight, Elena took a step to the side, slipping past her with the smoothness of someone who had spent her entire life avoiding trouble.

The woman, who had been expecting to make contact, nearly stumbled when she suddenly found herself leaning against empty air.

Before she could recover, Elena turned towards the opposite end of the hall and raised a hand.

“Ah, there you are! I’ve been looking for you!”

She called out cheerfully, pretending that she had just spotted someone familiar. Several people instinctively followed her gaze, only to find that there was no one standing where she was pointing.

However, Elena paid them no attention. She had already begun walking away, leaving the woman behind with a bewildered expression.

“Master Kael? Wait, I—”

“I’m sorry, but I have something important to attend to! We can talk another time!”

Elena waved without turning around, her voice carrying just enough friendliness to make it difficult for the woman to complain without embarrassing herself.

The surrounding hunters exchanged glances.

Some looked amused, while others struggled to hide their surprise.

After all, they had just witnessed Kael casually escape the advances of a woman who had practically thrown herself at him.

And he had done so without even appearing to realise what she had been trying to do. They could not help but wonder: was Master Kael really so oblivious, or was he sharp enough to detect a trap and avoid it?

Meanwhile, Elena continued towards the restroom area, her expression growing increasingly unpleasant once she was certain nobody was following her.

‘Kael, you owe me for this. Whatever trouble you get into in the future, I’m going to remind you of this day.’

She had barely finished that thought when she spotted Lyra standing near the entrance, looking considerably better than before.

Elena immediately grabbed her arm.

“Come on. We’re going back.”

“Huh? What’s wrong? Did something happen?”

“Nothing happened. That’s precisely why we’re leaving before something does! And why do you smell like blood?”

Elena asked, causing Lyra to let out a startled laugh.

“Yeah, so about that…”

…

Lyra had decided to leave Elena’s side because she could see everyone staring at her with interest. They all looked like they wanted to tear her apart.

There were even a few women looking at Elena, who was pretending to be Kael, with far more interest than they should have had. And it made her blood boil.

‘How dare these lowlifes eye Kael like this? They are not even on Seraphina or Iris’s level, yet they think they have a chance with Kael.’

Lyra complained, but it was getting to the point where she could no longer ignore it, and she decided that she needed to do something about it.

After all, as much as she knew she did not need to help Elena, she did not want Kael’s reputation to suffer.

So she left Kael’s side and created an opening for the others to approach her.

And it did not take long before someone came after her.

But it was not a man trying to butter her up, but another woman who was dressed in a business suit.

“Miss Lyra, it is nice to meet you. Now, shall we have a talk? I have something important to propose—”

“I am not interested, so I will pass. You can try your luck with someone else today. I already have a partner.”

Lyra was quick to turn the other person down without even hearing her out. Somehow, she had a feeling that it would only spell trouble if she allowed even a single opening.

She could tell that her remark had wounded the other woman’s pride, but Lyra could not bring herself to apologise for it.

Rather, she felt that she was well within her rights to decline a meeting with others.

Her refusal only made the other woman sigh before she shook her head.

“I wanted to do this the easy way. But now I can see that you leave me with no choice. I will have to subdue you by force if necessary.”

The woman snapped her fingers, and fire appeared in her hand. It was rather weak by Lyra’s standards, but for someone like the woman standing in front of her, it was quite powerful.

“What do you think? Are you scared yet? I will allow you another chance—”

Lyra punched the woman in the stomach, knocking her out, and then ran away. She had had enough of this nonsense for the day.

And then she returned to Elena’s side.
