Raising Yanderes to save the world
Chapter 372: I will become a god - Part 1
“This is so boring. How does Kael manage not to fall asleep all the time during these meetings? Ugh, just listening to these voices is enough to make me want to go to sleep.”
Lyra complained from where she sat beside Elena.
Her posture was rigid and perfect, and she even had an attentive smile on her face. But her thoughts and words painted a different story.
But it was not as if Elena did not understand where Lyra was coming from. She was just as frustrated having to sit through unwanted stuff she did not understand or care about.
However, Kael cared about all this, so she was putting up with it.
She did not say much, but inside her mind, she just wanted something fun to happen. She did not care what it was, but anything that could get her out of this situation would be appreciated…
But no sooner had she thought that than an explosion shook the area, causing people to start running around in a panic.
“W-What happened? Was that an explosion?”
“Someone must have decided to attack. Security—”
Iris and Leon were already on the move. They quickly tracked down the attackers, and Elena noticed a few familiar faces, including the lady who had approached her to flirt with Kael.
It seemed like she had been trying to get him on her side before this whole mess, but when it had not worked, she had decided to plan something else to get his attention.
Or at least, that was what she claimed after she had been tied up by Leon and Iris.
The woman struggled against the restraints while glaring at Leon and Iris, who stood on either side of her. There were several other attackers lying on the ground nearby, all of whom had been subdued before they could cause any further damage.
“Let me go! You have no right to detain me like this!”
Iris raised an eyebrow.
“Really? Then what do you call setting off an explosion in a building full of people?”
“That was not supposed to hurt anyone! It was just meant to get everyone’s attention!”
“Ah, so you admit to doing it?”
The woman froze, causing Iris to smile. But there was nothing particularly friendly about it.
“Thank you for your cooperation. Now, would you mind explaining why you thought blowing up a building was an appropriate way to get someone’s attention?”
“I already told you! I wanted to speak to Master Kael! I have something very important to discuss with him.”
“And you thought he would be happy to meet you after you endangered everyone around him?”
The woman opened her mouth, but no words came out.
Leon sighed as he looked at the other attackers.
“Can we just hand them over to the authorities? I don’t think we’re going to get anything useful out of them here.”
“Wait!”
The woman immediately turned toward him.
“You don’t understand! I need to speak to Kael! There’s something important I need to tell him!”
The woman repeated, almost as if this would make others change their mind and let her go.
Leon stared at her for a moment before glancing at Iris.
“Do you think we should hear her out?”
Officer Tyson asked in aun uncertain voice, but the answer he got was rather firm.
“No. Anyone who thinks an explosion is a reasonable way to start a conversation should not be allowed anywhere near Kael.”
Iris answered without hesitation causing the offender to let out a sob of frustration.”
Meanwhile, back in the meeting room, Lyra had already stood up and was looking toward the entrance with an expression of barely concealed excitement.
“Well, that was certainly more interesting than listening to everyone talk.”
Elena gave her a tired look, telling her to stop talking. But she did not want to draw more attention to herself, so she spoke softly so that only Lyra would be able to hear her.
“Please don’t tell me you’re happy that someone attacked us.”
“Of course not! I’m just happy that something happened! I just feel relieved that I am no longer feeling bored.”
“That is somehow worse.”
Seraphina, who had been helping the other people evacuate, returned to the room with Officer Tyson following behind her.
“Everyone has been accounted for, and the injured are being treated. The attackers have also been captured.”
Tyson rubbed his forehead.
“Wonderful. Just wonderful. As if I didn’t have enough paperwork already, now I have to deal with an attempted attack on a government meeting.”
He looked as though he wanted to sit down and never get up again.
Lyra patted him on the shoulder.
“Cheer up! At least you have something interesting to write about now.”
“I would appreciate it if you stopped trying to comfort me.”
Before Lyra could respond, Leon and Iris returned with the captured attackers. The woman immediately began looking around the room once more until her eyes landed on Elena who was dressed up as Kael.
“Master Kael, are you truly not going to help me out? I just wanted to get to you because I had something important to discuss to you about. It’s about the dungeons and cores. I-“
The female started once more and now, Lyra was getting frustrated.
She secided to step forward and grab the offending female by her collar and shake her.
“Stop trying to make a pass at Kael. He is my boyfriend and I can tell that you are annoying him. It would be better for you to stop now.”
Lyra shook the unnamed female, but the look of determination only hardened.
“Say what you will, but this is important. It is about the duengon cores and that new hidden quest. I want to know if you got that quest as well and if you would like to help me. I want to absob all the cores in this world and help humanity. I promise I will always work for human betterment if you help me out.”
Now this caught everyone’s attention and they turned to look at the captured female.
