Raising Yanderes to save the world
Chapter 374: Fighting a Monster - Part 1
The person who had lost her mind continued to attack the building, and soon, the pillars could not take it anymore and started to collapse. The raining debris was going to crush someone, but Seraphina quickly put up a barrier to restore everything to its original state.
“Leon, Iris, can you make sure everyone gets out of here quickly? We will take this thing somewhere else and deal with it.”
Now that the human in front of them had lost its humanity, there was no point in respecting it anymore.
So Seraphina intended to destroy it quickly. But before that, she needed Leon to take the burden of evacuating everyone off their hands.
Lyra looked between them all, not knowing where she was supposed to go.
Leon looked unhappy with the work he had been given, but he decided that there was no point in arguing with Seraphina right now, so he rushed out to get everyone else out.
Iris followed him at a slower pace, and unlike Leon, she kept looking back once in a while to make sure Elena and Seraphina did not need any help.
Elena waited until they were gone before she started to spread her shadows. Various hands made out of shadows emerged from the earth and grabbed onto the monster in front of her before they started to drag it back towards the earth.
“Grrr—”
The monster tried to resist, but it was too late. It was not able to stand against Elena’s full power.
But as a result, the place was also unable to withstand her power and started shaking.
“Hey, what are you doing? You are going to destroy this place while dragging that monster down—”
“So do your part and help me out. Honestly, this is why I brought you here in the first place. If you can’t even help, then what is the use?”
Elena asked, causing Seraphina’s temper to rise. She did not like the way she had been spoken to recently.
“Hey, so can we fight later? I think we have much more important things to worry about right now.”
Lyra intervened in their argument to draw their attention back to the main fight taking place in front of them.
Elena took a deep breath before calming down and realising that Lyra was right. There was no point in getting so worked up over something like this.
“You are right. I will calm down now. So, any idea what we should do next after I imprison this abomination?”
She asked, causing Seraphina to chuckle.
“Well, isn’t that obvious? We need to break this thing apart so that it won’t dare to raise its head against us again. Let’s take this monster apart completely, and then we can get more answers out of it.”
After all, Seraphina had not forgotten what this monster had said about Kael before it had become unstable.
She was not sure how much of its words they could take at face value, but if there was anything worth investigating… it was worth a shot, right?
…
Elena’s magic had created a pocket dimension where they had dragged the monster. There was hardly any light, but the trio that entered it could still see perfectly well.
The same could not be said about their opponent.
“Ugh, to think we will still be dealing with a god’s bullshit even after everything we went through. Let’s just take care of it quickly and go back home.”
Lyra complained, and her magic began to transform her. Her nails became sharper, and her hands turned into claws. Her features also changed, giving her a wilder look.
She quickly leapt towards the monster, and after raising her claws, she decided to take it down.
The monster noticed her and dodged, only to fall into Seraphina’s trap.
The moment the monster stepped into the trap, golden chains emerged from the ground and wrapped around its limbs, preventing it from moving any further.
Seraphina raised her hand, and the chains tightened around its body, forcing it to kneel as the divine energy coursing through them began to burn its corrupted flesh.
“Got you!”
Lyra wasted no time in taking advantage of the situation.
She lunged forward and slashed at the monster’s shoulder, tearing through its thick hide with her claws.
Black blood sprayed across the ground, and the creature let out a deafening roar as it struggled against the restraints.
However, the monster was not about to surrender so easily. Its body suddenly swelled, and the chains holding it in place began to crack under the pressure.
“Seriously? Can’t you hold it down for a little longer?”
Lyra complained as she jumped backwards to avoid a sweeping arm that nearly caught her.
“Then stop giving it opportunities to escape! You had him within your grasp.”
Seraphina retorted, her expression growing serious as she poured more divine energy into the chains.
Elena, who had been watching from a distance, finally decided to intervene. She had been obsercving from the sidelines all this time, but it was clear to her that her powers and knowledge woud be needed to deal with this monster.
The shadows beneath the monster stretched out like enormous hands before wrapping around its legs and pulling them apart, forcing it to lose its balance.
“Stop moving so much. You’re making this unnecessarily troublesome.”
She clenched her fist, and the shadows immediately tightened around the monster’s body.
Unlike Seraphina’s divine chains, Elena’s magic did not attempt to purify the corruption. Instead, it suppressed the creature’s movements by dragging its body into the darkness.
For a brief moment, their combined efforts seemed to work.
Buy then the monster began to laugh.
It was an unpleasant sound, one that echoed throughout the pocket dimension and made the three women instinctively grow cautious.
There were no words, but the sound of that laughter was eerie in itself, causing Seraphia’s expression to darken. She looked at the monster in front of her with an annoyed frown on her face.
