Raising Yanderes to save the world

Chapter 379 The Garden of God - Part 2

  • Next Chapter

Kael continued walking through the garden, searching for any possible way out. He moved between the endless rows of flowers and the countless souls wandering around, but no matter which direction he chose, the scenery remained the same.

There were always more souls ahead of him, smiling, talking, or simply wandering without any clear destination.

It was almost as if the garden itself was changing to ensure that he could never find the same path twice.

He eventually stopped and looked around with a frown.

‘There has to be an exit somewhere.’

Kael had already tried following the souls, but they always disappeared deeper into the garden.

He had also tried following the flow of mana, but it simply circled around the entire place before returning to the centre. Even attempting to sense the outside world through his magic had failed.

The only thing he had yet to try was breaking through the garden itself.

Kael walked toward one of the walls surrounding the garden and placed his hand against it. The moment he did, an uncomfortable sensation spread through his body, warning him that whatever made up this place was far stronger than it appeared.

“Then I guess I have no choice but to force my way through.”

He gathered his magic into his hand, preparing to break a small segment of the wall and see what was hiding beyond it.

If this place was some kind of prison, there was no reason to believe the proper exit would simply be waiting for him to find it.

However, before Kael could release his magic, the entire garden suddenly became silent.

The voices that had filled the garden only moments ago disappeared completely. The laughter stopped. The footsteps stopped. Even the flowers seemed to stop moving.

Kael slowly turned around to see what was happening.

Every soul in the garden had stopped what they were doing. Their heads were lowered, and their bodies were bent forward in a deep bow.

Kael followed their gaze and saw a silhouette walking through the garden.

The figure was completely covered in white and was the centre of everyone’s attention.

A long, flowing cloak concealed their body from head to toe, leaving Kael unable to see even a glimpse of their face.

Yet there was something about the figure that immediately made the hairs on the back of his neck stand.

‘Who is that? No, rather… what is that?’

Kael lowered his magic and took a step forward, and the moment he did, his entire body froze. His muscles refused to respond.

“What—?”

Before he could finish speaking, an invisible force slammed into him and dragged him down to the ground. His knees struck the floor, and his hands were forced against the ground as though something far heavier than his own body was pressing down on him.

Kael struggled to move, desperately trying to force magic through his body.

‘What is this power? This cannot belong to a human. Then… is it a god’s power?’

The cloaked figure continued walking.

Kael could only watch as the white silhouette passed through the garden, with every soul bowing even deeper as it moved past them.

He tried to raise his head and follow the figure.

For some reason, he felt that if he allowed it to leave without learning its identity, he might never get another opportunity.

But his body refused to obey him.

He poured more magic into himself, finally breaking through the strange restriction. And just as he managed to lift his head—

The white silhouette was gone.

There was no trace of it anywhere, and the souls slowly returned to their normal behaviour, as though nothing had happened.

Kael remained on the ground, staring at the empty path where the figure had disappeared.

He kept looking in the direction where that shadow had disappeared, but there was no point in looking there anymore.

Kael’s instincts were telling him that the figure he had just watched was the only way to get out of this place and find out the truth of this world.

But he had no idea how to get that figure to show up again.

So he decided to wait. He sat down on the ground and tried to relax. But the second he did, he felt the world around him starting to fade out.

His mind was being manipulated, causing him to gasp and straighten his back.

This was not a normal garden, and he could not let his guard down.

The others around him were simply laughing and talking, almost as if they were having a normal day. But Kael was not that fortunate, and he tried his best to keep himself under control.

However, this place was not easy to navigate, and there was no telling when the person in white would come back.

So Kael had to wait.

And he did… for as long as he could. But the sky soon turned black, and the souls around him started to walk away.

Kael had a choice to make, so for now, he decided to follow those souls to see where they were going.

They headed toward the covered areas, shoving each other to get inside first.

For the first time, there was an urgency in their approach, causing Kael to feel like this was important.

So he secured his spot quickly, and his barrier prevented people from being able to come close to him.

But there was only limited space inside the pavilion, and about 10% of the souls were left outside.

And Kael watched as the ground split apart, and all the souls that were outside were swallowed by the earth.

Those who were left behind did not even mourn as they watched it happen. Their eyes were blank, and they waited for the occasion to end.

A few hours passed before the sun started to rise, and everything returned to normal.

But those souls that had been swallowed by the ground did not return.

That was the end for them.
