Ranaway From Wedding, Fell into Tycoon's Love Trap
Chapter 1522: I Think You Should Smile
If it weren’t for Benjamin Shaw and Grace Young being there, Alice Turner would have kicked him long ago, but at this moment she could only tolerate his childish temper.
She stood up, and just as she was about to pick up some food for him with her chopsticks, she suddenly saw a large hand turn the dining table’s lazy Susan.
Following that large hand, Alice Turner saw Benjamin Shaw’s handsome face. Although he had a stern expression at the moment, it didn’t affect his good looks at all.
"Mr. An! I think you should be more gentlemanly." Benjamin Shaw glanced at Alice Turner, but it was just a quick glance before he turned his focus to Anthony, his face expressionless.
Upon hearing this, Alice Turner’s hand paused, her delicate eyebrows raised. Was he speaking up for her?
She took a deep look at Benjamin Shaw, then looked at Anthony. That guy was not someone who would take things lying down; he would definitely have a comeback, right?
But the result left her utterly astonished...
Not only did Anthony not retort, he didn’t even show any sign of anger. He even put on a smile, "Thank you for the reminder, Mr. Shaw."
After addressing Benjamin Shaw, he looked at Alice Turner, "Sis! I can manage myself, otherwise someone might get unhappy."
As he said this, he raised his eyebrows at her meaningfully.
This brat! Would it kill him to keep quiet?
Alice Turner rolled her eyes grandly at Anthony, her tone brimming with extreme dissatisfaction, "Young Master Dalton! I think you should focus on eating your meal and get down to business afterward."
Finishing her words, she sat back down in her seat.
Young Master Dalton?!
She hadn’t called him that in a long time, only using it when she was genuinely mad.
Anthony cautiously looked at Alice Turner, seeing her pursed lips and her eyes devoid of any emotions as they gazed at the food before her. He was one hundred percent certain that she was angry.
She was angry because of his deliberate support for her ex-husband just now.
But he wasn’t wrong, the ex-husband was indeed unhappy just now because he had asked her to pick food for him.
He couldn’t bear to see his ex-husband’s affection go unnoticed, but he didn’t expect it to irritate her instead.
"Got it."
Anthony felt trapped in a no-win situation, not satisfying either side. He decided to stop meddling and focused on eating his own meal.
Does she really disdain him so much? It’s just a matter of a few words, does she really have to get so angry?
Benjamin Shaw wasn’t that clueless; Alice Turner’s apparent dissatisfaction toward Anthony was actually her venting her anger at him.
She wanted nothing to do with him on a personal level, preferring to distance herself as much as possible, ideally as far as the horizon.
Having concluded this, he felt utterly uncomfortable, his mood even more stifled and unpleasant.
"You all continue eating; I need to use the restroom." Benjamin Shaw stood up and left the private room, worried that if he didn’t get some air, he might suffocate from the tension.
Bang!
Hearing the door to the private room close, Anthony looked up slowly and turned to Alice Turner, tentatively speaking, "Sis! I think you should smile a little, don’t keep that stern face."
Because with you looking so stern, the atmosphere is rather oppressive.
He only said these words to himself, not daring to say them out loud; he didn’t want her to get upset.
"I think you should really think about how to discuss with Mr. Shaw later on; the collaboration this time is completely up to you. I’ll just be a backdrop." Alice Turner glanced at Anthony and then lowered her head, pretending to eat.
