Chapter 1524: Your Sister Isn’t Picky About Food

  • Next Chapter

Hearing the door opening and closing, Anthony and Grace Young turned their heads to look at the entrance and saw that Benjamin Shaw had returned. They stopped reaching for food.

Alice Turner also stopped serving them food, but unlike them, she didn’t turn to look at Benjamin Shaw. She kept her head down, quietly eating her meal.

As Benjamin Shaw approached, he discreetly observed Alice Turner. Seeing that she didn’t even want to look at him, his mood, which had just improved, soured again.

He walked over and sat down in his previous seat.

"Is the food to everyone’s taste?" Benjamin Shaw asked everyone, but his eyes were solely on Alice Turner, his gaze so blatant and unrestrained.

Following Benjamin Shaw’s gaze, Anthony looked at Alice Turner and said, "Seeing my sister enjoying her meal so much, you know the food must be good."

He originally wanted to say: Seeing my sister enjoying the meal so much, you know, ex-brother-in-law, you chose the right restaurant.

But he feared saying that would earn him another of her glares, so he held back; he didn’t want her storming out.

Benjamin Shaw’s gaze was so evident that Grace Young noticed it too, but whether she saw it or not, she wouldn’t say much.

She was just a small assistant, and it was already her honor to dine at the same table with several executives.

"Your sister isn’t picky; she finds anything delicious to eat." Though he hadn’t lived alone with Alice Turner, they often went back to their parents’ house and acted together.

Every time during meals, he saw her eating with great enjoyment, never refusing this or that.

Based on this, he confidently and assuredly made this conclusion.

Alice Turner indeed wasn’t a picky eater. For a workaholic, she didn’t have the leisure to be fussy about food.

As long as she could fill her belly, even with just a steamed bun or a packet of pickles, she would eat it with relish.

"We’ve already wasted a lot of time, and if we keep wasting it, we might have to wait until tomorrow to talk." Although he guessed correctly, it didn’t mean she could praise him.

Alice Turner raised her head and looked slowly towards Benjamin Shaw and Anthony. "If you two don’t want to eat anymore, you can go ahead and start your discussion. You talk, and I’ll continue eating my meal."

Her meaning was clear, urging the two of them to make good use of their time, either hurry up and eat or start discussing.

"Let’s talk after the meal."

Benjamin Shaw understood the underlying message in Alice Turner’s words, but he didn’t know she had already handed over the right to negotiate to Anthony. He was still waiting to discuss the cooperation with her.

Since she hadn’t finished eating, he would patiently wait for her.

To avoid making the atmosphere awkward, Benjamin Shaw picked up his chopsticks. Even though he had no appetite, he still joined them in eating.

Anthony looked at Alice Turner and then at Benjamin Shaw, choosing not to say more and continued eating his meal quietly.

Grace Young didn’t dare utter a word; she snuck a glance at the three of them and continued eating silently, trying to minimize her presence.

Seeing Benjamin Shaw and Anthony settle down, Alice Turner also became calm, focusing on her meal, no longer lost in thought.

The four of them stopped talking, and since they all deliberately quieted their eating actions, the entire private room was eerily silent.
