RE: LORD OF TIME

Chapter 135: Bloodline Memories

  • Next Chapter

William looked at the sea of blood beneath him, blinking his eyes in confusion.

"Where is this?"

Rain of blood poured down from the sky, covering everything in a crimson hue.

Land, trees, sky... Everything was drenched in blood.

William tried to recall how he had appeared in this place, but he could only remember going to sleep inside the cave on Mist Mountain.

He took a step forward, and the sea of blood beneath his feet, which stretched all the way to the horizon, splashed red liquid all over his legs.

William didn’t care about it and continued to look around. But even after searching for a long time, he couldn’t find anything in this crimson world.

"Is this a dream or something?"

William finally stopped looking around and once again tried to remember how he had appeared in this place.

Just as he was trying hard to recall, he suddenly seemed to feel something and quickly turned his head to the side.

Around a hundred meters away from him, he saw a blurry figure standing amid the sea of blood, looking at him with its blood-red eyes glowing faintly.

"That’s..." As soon as he saw the figure, a realization emerged from the depths of his bloodline, and William immediately understood what was happening.

"Bloodline Memories."

He muttered under his breath, narrowing his eyes.

Unlike normal bloodlines, most of the powerful bloodlines came with their own inherited memories.

These memories contained the best ways to utilize their bloodline powers, making it easier for their owners to understand and use the abilities of their bloodlines.

While William was thinking, the blurry figure suddenly acted and waved its hand.

Instantly, the sea of blood responded to its call and transformed into a gigantic tsunami, sweeping across the entire world.

’This is Blood Manipulation...’

William looked at the world-destroying scene before him and immediately realized which ability the blurry figure was using.

But the next instant—

Woosh! Woosh! Woosh! - - - -

Crimson figures clad in red armor began to appear all around the sea of blood, forming a human wall in front of the gigantic tsunami.

They held shields and spears in their hands, looking like veteran soldiers.

As William looked at the human-like figures, his bloodline memories simulated the information about the ability being used, and he subconsciously began to understand it.

"Blood Puppets..."

He muttered in a low voice, his eyes glowing brightly.

As he watched the Blood Puppets trying to stop the gigantic tsunami, his understanding of how to use this ability became clearer and clearer.

He did not need to increase his level or unlock a new ability of his bloodline to use Blood Puppets.

Blood Puppet was also an application of the Blood Manipulation ability.

However, in order to use it, he had to implant a strand of his consciousness into the puppet.

That consciousness could understand simple orders and act accordingly. The number of Blood Puppets one could create depended on their level, mastery of Blood Manipulation, and the strength of their soul.

With his current strength, William felt that he could only create one or two Blood Puppets, unlike the blurry figure, who could create an entire army.

BOOOOOOM!

The gigantic tsunami crashed against the tall wall of Blood Puppets and swept away thousands of them, turning their bodies into puddles of blood.

But by the time it traveled a few kilometers deeper, the momentum of the gigantic tsunami flattened, and it finally disappeared.

Just as the Blood Puppets were celebrating—

Woosh!

The sky brightened, and the gloomy red light that covered the world disappeared, replaced by golden radiance that seemed to illuminate the entire world.

William didn’t know why, but he felt a deep sense of irritation when the golden light fell upon him.

It was as if countless ants were crawling over his body, making him feel extremely uncomfortable.

He looked at the sky and saw thousands of figures holding white spears, with wings on their backs, sweeping down from the sky and radiating golden light.

"Angels..."

William was stunned when he saw them, as he couldn’t understand what these people with pigeon-like wings were doing in his bloodline memories.

Rumble!

The entire world began to tremble as a massive battle broke out between the Blood Puppets and the Angels.

The blurry figure stared at the Blood Puppets that were being destroyed one after another, and its eyes began to glow.

Woosh!

Just then, a spear radiating golden light tore through the world and streaked toward the blurry figure, leaving behind spatial cracks everywhere it went.

William was stunned by the power of the spear, but his eyes widened even further when he saw what happened next.

The spear struck the blurry figure and pierced straight through its heart.

However, in the next instant, the blurry figure’s body exploded into a group of small bats, and they flew in different directions.

Once the bats were far enough away from their previous position, one of them transformed back into the blurry figure, while the rest of the bats exploded into clouds of blood mist.

"Shapeshifting..."

The name of the ability emerged in William’s mind, and as he recalled what had just happened, his memories regarding it became clearer and clearer, allowing him to understand how to use it.

In fact, he had already used the Shapeshifting ability earlier when he awakened his bloodline.

The wings on his back were an application of this ability.

This ability was instinctive to all high-level vampires, and they could use it without much difficulty.

William looked at his hand and slowly transformed it into a sharp claw with long nails.

He touched his nails and found them extremely tough and sharp, making him feel that he could easily slice through steel using them.

He looked at the Angels killing the Blood Puppets one after another and wondered if he should go and try his Shapeshifting ability against them.

Just as he was thinking, the entire world suddenly plunged into darkness, and the golden radiance coming from the Angels completely disappeared.

William raised his head and saw a dark blood moon hanging high in the sky, with the blurry figure floating right beneath it, two wings spread behind its back.

As soon as this darkness and blood moon appeared, the halos surrounding the Angels became extremely weak.

On the other hand, the Blood Puppets began to glow with a crimson aura, and their powers increased dramatically.

At the same time, from the darkness covering the world, black shadows began to emerge, grabbing the Angels one by one and dragging them away.

"Eternal Night..."

The name of the ability once again appeared in William’s mind, and he began to understand how to use it.

Under the effect of Eternal Night, the Blood Puppets that had been slaughtered by the Angels moments ago turned into butchers, harvesting the lives of the Angels with terrifying ease.

William stayed inside his bloodline memories for a long time and continued to witness different kinds of abilities, making him marvel at the power of an Origin Grade Bloodline.

With the help of his Bloodline Memories, he mastered many different abilities, making him one of the best Blood Mages at his current level.

Time continued to pass, and when he felt that he had stayed inside the Bloodline Memories for a very long time, the world around William suddenly began to crumble.

’It seems I can only access these Bloodline Memories for now...’

William thought when he saw the world crumbling before him and the next second, his vision was engulfed by darkness.
