RE: LORD OF TIME
Chapter 136: Another Divinity
When William opened his eyes, it was already beginning to brighten outside.
For a moment, a look of confusion flashed across his eyes.
Although it had only been a single night in the outside world, he felt as if he had spent several months inside that memory space.
"Are you awake?"
Just as he was feeling a bit muddle-headed, a familiar voice reached his ears, instantly clearing his mind.
He looked up from his sleeping position and saw Vivian looking down at him with a smile.
"I am awake, but I feel like sleeping a bit more now," William said as he turned his head and rested it on her soft thigh, rubbing the side of his face against it.
"If you want to sleep, then go ahead. There are still a few hours before your class starts..." Vivian said with a chuckle as she ruffled his messy platinum-white hair.
William heard her, but he didn’t close his eyes. He remained silent for a few moments before speaking.
"I saw the Bloodline Memories of my Vampire Bloodline last night."
Vivian was surprised when she heard him, but when she remembered that he possessed an Origin Grade Vampire Bloodline, she felt it was normal.
She had an Apex Grade Bloodline, and in her younger years, she herself had learned many different aspects of her bloodline through Bloodline Memories.
"What abilities did you learn?" She asked curiously.
"There were tons of abilities in my Bloodline Memories, but other than a few that I saw at the beginning, most of them were simply too high-level for me to use at my current level..." William spoke with a sigh and shook his head.
He then explained to Vivian the abilities that he could currently use.
Vivian listened to him, and the more she listened, the brighter her eyes became.
"Some of the abilities you mentioned, like Blood Puppets, Shapeshifting, and Blood Curse are abilities exclusive to high-level vampires, and I can also use them. But some of the abilities you just mentioned seem to be abilities that can only be used by vampires with an Origin Grade Bloodline."
"You mean abilities like Eternal Night and Crimson Apocalypse?"
"Yeah, and a few others as well..." She looked at William with gleaming eyes and spoke in a voice full of anticipation. "How about you teach me? Even though my bloodline is not of Origin Grade, I think I can still learn a few new things from them."
William smiled wryly at her.
"It’s not a problem for me to show you these abilities, but I don’t think you will be able to use them," He said with a shake of his head.
"From what I have learned about these abilities, they only work because of the special blood of the Progenitor. Take the Eternal Night ability for example. Once it is activated, all the vampires within its range will receive a blessing from the Progenitor’s blood, increasing their strength tremendously while also allowing them to ignore their weaknesses, such as holy energy and other things."
He paused and looked at her.
"You don’t have the Progenitor’s blood, so it simply won’t work if you use this ability."
Vivian nodded at his words and spoke calmly.
"I know what you are trying to say, but I still want to try. Even if I can’t use it in the same way as the original ability, I can try to use it differently."
"Well, since you are insisting, then let’s give it a try later on..." William said and sat up, stretching his body.
He looked at the slowly brightening sky and remembered the matter he had wanted to ask Vivian about before he came here last night.
’So many things happened after I met her that I completely forgot about it...’ He looked at Vivian and asked in confusion.
"Vivi, when I killed Lucas and you came to see me, you told me that something had changed in the academy. I have been here for almost a week now, but I haven’t noticed the change you spoke of."
Vivian raised an eyebrow when she heard him and asked,
"If I remember correctly, you entered an Astral Rift a few days ago, right?"
Although confused as to why she was asking about it, William still nodded.
Seeing him nod, she lowered her voice and asked.
"Didn’t you notice anything different when you entered the Rift?"
"Anything different?" William recalled the day he had entered the Howling Desert, but even after going through his memories, he couldn’t find anything unusual.
"Can you stop playing a puzzle game and directly tell me?"
"Tch!" Vivian clicked her tongue at his lack of patience and finally spoke. "How many Astral Rifts did you notice when you entered the Rift Center?"
"Number of Astral Rifts..." William recalled the number of Rift Portals he had seen when he entered the Rift Center, and his expression changed.
"There were over fifteen Rank One Rift Portals there."
Seeing that he finally seemed to understand, Vivian nodded.
’How is this possible? In the original timeline, there were only ten Rank One Astral Rifts under the academy’s management. Where did these extra Rifts come from?’
Seeing him lost in thought, Vivian added.
"All of the extra Rifts emerged within the last month and a half."
"Last month and a half..." William couldn’t help but take a deep breath upon hearing this because it was exactly the same amount of time since he had returned to the past.
’Is the emergence of these new Rifts somehow related to me?’ He frowned slightly as he remembered the Astral Rift he had encountered while coming to the academy.
That was a Rank Two Rift, and according to William’s memories of the original timeline, that Rift had also not emerged when he was traveling to the academy at that time.
Seeing him frowning deeply, Vivian grabbed his hand and spoke calmly.
"You don’t need to think too much. The reason I told you about this was just to remind you that there might be new Astral Rifts that you aren’t aware of, so be careful when entering Astral Rifts in the future..."
She paused before adding seriously.
"As for why these Rifts are emerging, let other people worry about it. Remember, William, you don’t have to solve everything. There are many people in this empire and throughout the entire Vermilion Realm who are enjoying the benefits provided by this world. If a problem arises, these people also need to put in some effort to pay for all the benefits they are enjoying."
William’s thoughts paused when he heard Vivian’s words, and he couldn’t help but feel that she was right.
Why did he have to worry about every single thing?
He was still just a Star Warrior noob, and there were countless powerful people in the world above him.
Let those people worry about the matter of the sudden emergence of these Rifts.
"You are right..." He took a deep breath and smiled at her. "Thanks for solving my doubts."
"No problem..." Vivian grabbed his palm and spoke calmly. "I will always be by your side."
"Hmm..." William nodded silently and didn’t say anything.
But there was another thing he needed to ask her. Going through his storage ring, he took out a small glass bottle filled with blood.
"Vivian, can you check if this blood also has divinity similar to mine?"
Vivian took the glass bottle from William’s hand and asked curiously.
"Whose blood is this?"
"Samuel," William replied. "His body has always been very weak since childhood. I have a feeling that his abnormal condition might be because he also has divinity in his blood."
"I see..." Vivian nodded and opened the glass bottle.
She controlled the blood within the bottle using Blood Manipulation, and a few drops flew out of it.
As she drank those few drops, she closed her eyes and frowned slightly.
After a few moments, she opened her eyes and nodded.
"This blood also has divinity in it."
"As I thought..." William nodded with a calm expression, as he had already expected this.
However, Vivian wasn’t finished yet.
"But William... the divinity in this blood is completely different from your divinity."
The calm expression on William’s face froze, and his mind went blank.
