Chapter 608 Instantly Clearing the Heaven-Reaching Tower, Obtaining Unparalleled Defense Tower Upgrade Materials

Seeing that the rules were no different from his last visit, Shen Fei didn’t hesitate. He immediately set out his Defense Towers and instantly clicked to start the first floor’s monster wave.

Around him, all his teammates took an involuntary step back after the monsters spawned.

BOOM!

Just as Sun Yu and the others had expected, Shen Fei’s Defense Towers faced the countless monsters on the first floor, each enhanced ten-thousandfold. A single wave of attacks instantly wiped them all out, even destroying the monster-spawning portal.

[DING!]

[Hell-Difficulty Heaven-Reaching Tower, First Floor: Cleared!]

[Reward: First Tier Defense Tower Upgrade Scroll ×100!]

After Shen Fei had obliterated the first floor’s monster wave and its spawning portal in a single move, the world blurred before their eyes. As they appeared on the second floor of the Heaven-Reaching Tower, several lines of text materialized out of thin air, and the rewards from the first floor were already piled at their feet.

"Good! Collect them! Let’s continue!"

The highest and most difficult level of the Heaven-Reaching Tower Secret Realm was the one they were in now: [Hell-Difficulty]. Shen Fei’s main objective was to farm items for upgrading his Defense Towers, so he instructed Sun Yu to gather all the loot from the first floor.

For others, the monsters in the [Hell-Difficulty] Heaven-Reaching Tower were far too strong. A single mistake could lead to failure in the Secret Realm, causing the monsters from the remaining floors to materialize in Qing City at ten thousand times their strength. But for Shen Fei, it was actually a bit of a shame that the Heaven-Reaching Tower’s strongest difficulty was only [Hell-Difficulty], preventing him from farming a level with even better rewards...

"Let’s do it in one go! Clear it all at once!"

After testing the strength of the first floor, Shen Fei quickly made his decision. Originally, given his power, he was already past the point of needing to farm various Secret Realms. However, in order to continue raising his Defense Tower levels, he had no choice but to speed-run Secret Realms related to Tower Defense of Ten Thousand Realms to obtain the necessary upgrade items.

Although he had already seen that the Heaven-Reaching Gang’s warehouse held a large quantity of pre-farmed materials that could upgrade Defense Towers, all neatly sorted and stored inside, Shen Fei also understood that with the Version 4.9 apocalypse looming, everyone else’s Defense Towers also needed significant upgrades. He couldn’t be so selfish as to take everything in the Heaven-Reaching Gang’s stash for himself. If he wanted to upgrade his Defense Towers, the best way was still to farm the materials himself.

As it happened, no one had yet cleared the [Hell-Difficulty] Secret Realm of the Heaven-Reaching Tower, its highest setting. The people from the Tourism Management Office would also need time to mobilize and make arrangements based on the information he’d provided. Therefore, he had the perfect opportunity to lead the Heaven-Reaching Gang through the [Hell-Difficulty] Heaven-Reaching Tower Secret Realm. On this run, he could not only farm a batch of materials to upgrade his own Defense Towers, but he could also lead everyone to secure the first-clear achievement. This would show them what the [Hell-Difficulty] Heaven-Reaching Tower was all about, familiarize them with the layout of the [Hell-Difficulty] Secret Realm, and pave the way for future runs by members of the Heaven-Reaching Gang.

WHOOSH!

As Shen Fei mulled this over, his hands never stopped moving for a second. Leading several hundred people, he advanced at a blistering pace, quickly clearing one floor of the Heaven-Reaching Tower after another. For others, the [Hell-Difficulty] monsters were incredibly strong, requiring careful testing and strategy to defeat. But for Shen Fei, no matter the monster, it was an instant kill. If not for the need to let the others collect monster data for future runs, he could have cleared the floors even faster!

[DING!]

[Eighth Floor Cleared!]

[Reward: Third-tier Defense Tower Blueprint ×31!]

[15th Floor Cleared!]

[Reward: Fifth Tier Gemstone ×7!]

[21st Floor Cleared!]

[Reward: Mortal-level Pet Egg ×11!]

Under Shen Fei’s lead, lines of floor-clear notifications flashed by one after another, and all sorts of items usable by Tower Defense of Ten Thousand Realms players were dropping just as quickly. Besides the various Scrolls that could instantly upgrade Defense Towers, Shen Fei also obtained drops like Gemstones, pets, and even Tower Master equipment.

The Heaven-Reaching Tower Secret Realm was inherited from the game Tower Defense of Ten Thousand Realms. Therefore, the vast majority of items dropped in this Secret Realm were things Tower Masters could use immediately. For example, the dropped Gemstones could be used to further raise a Tower Master’s Gemstone levels, and the dropped Pet Eggs could also immediately improve the quality of a Tower Master’s pets.

WHOOSH! WHOOSH! WHOOSH!

Under Shen Fei’s lead, the [Hell-Difficulty] Secret Realm that was an impassable barrier for other Tower Masters was no big deal at all. Shen Fei hadn’t even summoned more than 200 Defense Towers, and his team had already swiftly cleared their way to the 70th floor. During this time, the other players had also quickly collected the Attributes of the monsters on each floor. In fact, through these many battles, everyone had also learned a great deal about Tower Master combat tactics.

Watching Shen Fei, the number one Tower Master, fight, all the members of the Heaven-Reaching Gang felt they had gained immense experience and understanding. Because of Shen Fei, the number one person in Great Xia, the Tower Masters in the Heaven-Reaching Gang who shared his profession had always felt superior to others. Of course, their superiority was also backed by their formidable strength. They had always believed Tower Masters were invincible. But now, after personally witnessing Shen Fei’s combat style after the sixth ability inheritance, they finally realized just how narrow their perspective had been. As Tower Masters, there were still so many more combat experiences and techniques for them to learn!

[DING!]

With Shen Fei’s unstoppable momentum, and with the other Tower Masters learning as they went, the Heaven-Reaching Gang’s team quickly reached the ninetieth floor. With the arrival of the ninetieth floor, Shen Fei saw that the monsters in the [Hell-Difficulty] Secret Realm were actually granted intelligence. Just like the Intelligent NPCs he had encountered in the special region of the Pacific Ocean, the monsters spawning now actually possessed intelligence. They didn’t just know how to coordinate; while counter-attacking the Defense Towers, they would also target the Tower Master himself.

"From now on, when you farm the [Hell-Difficulty] Heaven-Reaching Tower, don’t go past the ninetieth floor! Just stop at the eighty-ninth floor!"

Seeing the unique situation with the monsters, Shen Fei immediately made the decision for the others. Although the monsters on the ninetieth floor and above would surely give better rewards, because of the Version 4.9 apocalypse, Shen Fei remained wary of these so-called intelligent monsters. He wasn’t just wary of the NPCs and bosses inherited from the game; he was even on guard against intelligent creatures within Secret Realms like this.

Soon, under Shen Fei’s direction, his team crushed the guardian boss of the 99th floor of the Heaven-Reaching Tower with unstoppable force. Then, amidst a flood of various rewards, Shen Fei led his teammates directly onto the Teleportation Array to leave the Secret Realm.

"Alright! From now on, you’ll farm on your own! Clear it as many times as you can! Do everything you can to raise your Combat Power as high as possible!"

After leading the Heaven-Reaching Gang through a run of the highest-level Tower Master Secret Realm, Shen Fei offered them this final piece of advice before vanishing in a flash and re-entering the Heaven-Reaching Tower Secret Realm. He had just used up his weekly hundred-person Secret Realm entry, but he still had his solo Secret Realm entries. He couldn’t bring teammates into a solo Secret Realm, so without any hesitation, he stepped in by himself.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

While speed-running the solo Heaven-Reaching Tower Secret Realm, Shen Fei opened his inventory to check his recent gains. At the same time, he also opened the Ninth World to check the various Defense Tower upgrade items that the Sea Race had helped him acquire there.

"Whoa! Now this is something!"

With all this, I can give my Defense Towers a huge upgrade!

After looking at the gains in his inventory and then seeing the upgrade items the Sea Race had acquired for him, Shen Fei’s eyes lit up as he rapidly cleared the solo Heaven-Reaching Tower.
