Chapter 1885: Chapter 1865:

Business opportunity! Except... obviously this is never going on sale.

He Wenyu sighed with a hint of regret. "I actually think it has good commercial potential..."

"That’s enough." Luo Qianqian curled her lip. "But honestly, is it really that bad?"

"The one you had last time was grape juice mixed with red wine, what could possibly be wrong with that? Isn’t it just like umeshu with plum juice? The ingredients are the same, and the alcohol content is way lower. You were perfectly fine, weren’t you?" He Wenyu rolled her eyes hard. That bottle had 500 milliliters of grape juice with less than 50 milliliters of wine—what kind of effect is that supposed to have? At best it was just grape juice with a tiny bit of alcohol added; it doesn’t even beat beer!

And that one spiked with every ingredient in the kitchen? Luo Qianqian didn’t even touch a single drop! Total scam!

Yet she still fell for this Darkness-cuisine master, this kitchen executioner, and downed a huge mouthful in one go!

Heaven knows how much she wanted to see the Virgin Mary and Jesus at that moment.

Just thinking about it now made her mouth go dry, her throat scratchy, and even her scalp start sweating cold...

Luo Qianqian shrugged innocently. "You were the one who stopped me back then, wouldn’t let me drink it. Wasn’t there a blue one too? Right, who ended up drinking that?"

Blue? Just hearing that color made He Wenyu’s tongue feel uncomfortable.

But then she thought about it. The single-colored ones seemed to be the ones with fewer household odds and ends thrown in, so they should be the safer ones, right?

"That was the blueberry sake." Luo Qianqian dredged up the name, and then her eyes lit up.

When He Wenyu heard the name, she suddenly didn’t feel like talking. "I hate to rain on your parade, but I think that one had freshly crushed blueberry skins in it. You thought it was dirty, so you poured it out."

If it were fruit pulp floating in there, that’d be acceptable. But if it’s peels and pits, that’s really hard to stomach. Your eyes veto the drink before your tongue even gets a vote.

Good thing they vetoed it, or who knows, maybe a worm would’ve crawled out of it...

"It all sounds kind of awesome..." Mo swallowed hard and became even less willing to try anything...

"I’ll make one for you as soon as we get back. You just tell me what color you want." Luo Qianqian was extremely generous, saying it just like that. The swagger on her face was not something normal people could pull off!

If this weren’t a direct assault on their taste buds, Mo felt he’d definitely be knocked flat by Luo Qianqian’s kind of guts.

But... right now, collapsing was absolutely not an option! If he fell, who knew what would appear in front of him later...

"Just give me the one you drank last time." He Wenyu said immediately. "Same ratio, don’t change a thing."

"Do you have a measuring cylinder? Without one, how am I supposed to nail exactly fifty milliliters for you?" Luo Qianqian couldn’t help rolling her eyes. "I’ll try, I’ll try my best, okay."

Mo had wanted to speak up, but He Wenyu beat him to it, leaving him a bit annoyed. After a moment of silence, he said firmly, "Colorless and transparent would be best."

After all, colorless transparent liquids—besides things like baijiu—are basically just water, soda water, and Sprite, right? No matter which of those you add, it should be fine. Doesn’t sound nearly as terrifying as what He Wenyu was describing.

He Wenyu, however, had a strong sense of danger. She just had this feeling... whatever Luo Qianqian could come up with was beyond anything their imaginations could cover.

The two of them stayed in the yard busy grilling meat, while Luo Qianqian messed around in the house.

But the occasional sound of cups shattering and things clanging together proved Luo Qianqian wasn’t in there sleeping.

Mo kept swallowing and wiped at the nonexistent cold sweat on his forehead. "She... shouldn’t come out with something terrifying, right? I don’t even know why, but my heart’s pounding like crazy right now."

He Wenyu nodded repeatedly. "Same here... The unknown is the scariest. The ancients did not lie! Compared to this, exams are nothing..."

Exams threaten your prospects, your fate, the direction and development of your future. And she’d already been through that...

But now, right this second, what they were facing was a threat to their lives...

It was like being crushed under the heel of some higher being. If the great one got annoyed and rewarded them with a cup of poison, they’d be dead on the spot.

Of course, with poison you at least know how it ends. With this... they had no idea about anything...

Following the descriptions in the book, Luo Qianqian had already shattered several glasses... because the stuff foamed when she poured it out...

But thanks to her tireless efforts, she finally managed to carry out three drinks. They were in juice glasses, since... all the wine glasses had already broken...

A purple one was the bottle of grape juice with a little bit of wine that He Wenyu had asked for.

A colorless one was Mo’s.

And the last one was a bright, vibrant rose pink, looking especially pretty.

"Oh? Smells great. I came out at just the right time, huh?" Luo Qianqian chuckled.

He Wenyu snatched up the purple glass at lightning speed, terrified someone else would grab it. After all, that was the known quantity—the one with the least scary flavor.

The other two looked normal enough, but what if they weren’t?

Just the colors alone were already pretty dramatic.

Mo wasn’t particularly scared. After all, he was someone with Fire Attribute; worst case, he’d just force the stuff back out of his system.

He picked up his glass and took a sip. His eyes lit up. "Not bad at all. This is... lychee flavor."

Lychee...

Hearing that, He Wenyu’s face filled with instant relief. She knew it—there was no way Luo Qianqian was the type to play by the rules. See? See?

Wait, that’s not right... Then how did Mo manage to drink it down? Normally he shouldn’t be able to, right?

He should’ve spat it out as soon as it hit his tongue...

Luo Qianqian leisurely picked up her own glass and took a sip. A big smile curved across her face. "Mine tastes pretty good too."

"You didn’t put anything weird in yours, did you?" He Wenyu asked. Something about this reaction felt off. This wasn’t Luo Qianqian’s usual level... This person had to be a fake!

"What weird thing could I possibly add? Am I supposed to throw in chili powder?" Luo Qianqian looked completely speechless.

He Wenyu swallowed and pointed at Mo’s drink. "What’s in that one?"

Luo Qianqian propped her chin on her hand and started counting on her fingers like it was the most natural thing in the world. "One spoon of mint syrup, diluted with about two taels of sake, then topped up with lychee juice to fill the whole glass. Oh, and of course you can’t forget—I added two drops of lemon juice to balance the flavor."

"And yours?" He Wenyu pressed on.

"Mine? Cherry liqueur, mint syrup, soda water, and ice." Luo Qianqian looked at the glass in her hand. "The color’s actually pretty nice, don’t you think?"

"...Isn’t this way too normal? And also, why mint syrup?" He Wenyu looked completely baffled. That wasn’t the sort of thing Luo Qianqian would normally use in her mixology at all!
