Chapter 1933: Chapter 1913:

"But, I was just picked up..." Tantan said matter-of-factly.

Hearing this, An Hao was slightly stunned, his mind quickly processing.

Indeed, his sister just loves picking up people to bring home, so picking up a child is not that strange. After all, such a young child, no one here could have given birth to her, right?

With this thought, An Hao became much gentler, took a deep breath: "At that time, no one would abandon a child. One day, an old man went out to the mountain to chop wood, and discovered there was a glowing bamboo in the bamboo forest ahead. Curious, the old man cut it open and found a beautiful little girl inside."

"How beautiful? As beautiful as Tantan?"

"..." An Hao pretended not to hear. If that needed explanation, there’d be far too much to explain. He continued, "The old man picked up the little girl and exclaimed, ’What a delicately carved little girl,’ and hurriedly took her home. The old man and old woman, upon seeing this little girl, continuously thanked the heavens for granting them a child."

"But, children grow from their mother’s belly. Bamboo can only grow bamboo..." Tantan mumbled in confusion again.

"..." An Hao showed clear dissatisfaction, hating children!!!

"Hmm... that’s my fault. I told Tantan about the brain teaser, it’s like ’dogs can only give birth to dogs, not fleas.’" Luo Qianqian awkwardly rubbed her forehead and patted An Hao’s small hand. "But she’s quite right, isn’t she? Why would Huiyeji be in a bamboo and not in a peach or wood?"

He Wenyu: "..." How did this bedtime story suddenly turn into everyday knowledge dissemination?

"In a peach there’s Peach Boy; wood... there’s no space in wood to place children. Bamboo is hollow." An Hao thought seriously for a while and answered.

Tantan blinked her starry eyes in admiration, "Wow, Brother An Hao, you’re amazing, knowing all this."

An Hao, basking in the admiration from his little fan, felt quite pleased, and a proud smile appeared on his lips.

"Continue with the story, no interruptions." However, he had to admit his tone had become much softer.

Luo Qianqian and He Wenyu both chuckled knowingly, not exposing An Hao for his tiny bit of arrogance.

"Yes, yes, little teacher, please continue your story." Luo Qianqian laughed.

"...And then Huiyeji returned to the moon." An Hao finished the story with a sigh of relief, knowing the story he told was one he’d heard from Grandma Luo.

To him, Luo Qianqian’s grandma was like his own grandma, so he felt very close, not a shred of unfamiliarity due to lack of blood relation.

Whether it was Luo Guohui or Yue Tingyu, both were happy to interact with this well-behaved and understanding child. Besides, except for when Luo Qianqian was about to leave and was a bit cheeky, he was especially good otherwise, even helping take care of his little nephews.

Of course, the best moments were when Luo Qianqian was present, though during such times, this little fellow chose to ignore them completely, repeatedly asking: "Have you seen my sister? Where’s my sister?" and similar things...

"I have a question." Tantan raised her little hand, her voice sounding urgent.

"Say it." An Hao, flattered by Tantan earlier, was quite agreeable as he gestured for her to speak upon hearing she had a question.

"Is Huiyeji a little fairy? Why could she go to the moon? Isn’t Chang E and the mochi-making little rabbit on the moon?" Tantan’s voice was filled with urgency as if this question was crucial to her.

An Hao was briefly at a loss for words, but he quickly looked at Luo Qianqian, tilting his head: "Sister, she even knows about Chang E. You’ve told her many stories..." His voice carried a hint of grievance.

Luo Qianqian suddenly didn’t know what to say, was... An Hao jealous?

"You can’t accuse your sister of this, it was Fourth Sister-in-Law who told the story. Regarding stories about rabbits, those are basically common knowledge, like ’The Tortoise and the Hare,’ ’Waiting by a Tree for a Rabbit,’ ’A Sad Rabbit and a Fox,’ and so on." He Wenyu immediately explained for Luo Qianqian: "Usually, it’s my Fourth Sister-in-Law and I who tell more stories, your sister is rather lazy."

Luo Qianqian was momentarily speechless; though it was the truth, why did it sound so awkward?

An Hao thought for a moment, then nodded affirmatively.

Luo Qianqian didn’t want to speak, she felt a bit like hitting someone...

"Sister, I’ve missed you so much..." An Hao held Luo Qianqian’s hand and slowly fell asleep, muttering as he did, which made Luo Qianqian’s heart feel very soft.

It’s great to have a little brother.

Tantan also quickly fell asleep, and Luo Qianqian and He Wenyu took the rare opportunity to go to bed early...

Early the next morning, after Luo Qianqian and He Wenyu got up and freshened up, they placed Tantan next to An Hao, who was lying in a spot bathed in sunshine, warm and cozy.

An Hao woke up and hastily looked for Luo Qianqian but found Tantan leaning against his arm and sleeping soundly, even drooling... Suddenly, he felt an impulse to push her away.

However, because of his movement, Tantan quickly woke up, looked at An Hao, and gave a sweet smile: "Good morning, Brother An Hao." She sat up in a hurry and even used her shirt to wipe her mouth.

She dreamed of eating delicious food with An Hao, how delightful...

An Hao watched her wipe away her drool, then looked down at his hand, feeling quite helpless: "Can you let go now?"

Tantan looked down, smiled, and let go, "Big brother’s hand is so soft, just like cotton."

An Hao gloomily glanced at his hand, clearly full of defined joints and capable of protecting his sister, hands of a young man, okay?

What cotton...

Should I punch you to see if it’s cotton? By then, you better not cry and complain to Luo Qianqian!

Tantan giggled, seemingly unaware of anything wrong with her words, still giggling while watching An Hao.

An Hao felt it was a bit odd, wasn’t this little girl perhaps a bit off? Laughing all the time, doesn’t she get tired? He felt for her facial muscles.

"You two are awake, change your clothes first, then wash up. An Hao, your clothes are by the pillow." Luo Qianqian walked in naturally using her body as a screen to block both kids, while giving Tantan a change of clothes, puzzled by a big wet patch on the front of the child’s clothes. She touched the dry bed with confusion: "How is it wet?"

An Hao was calm behind Luo Qianqian: "That’s drool."

Luo Qianqian: "..." She silently glanced at Tantan who wasn’t aware of any embarrassment and sighed: "Children, you can’t fault them. Both of you wash your faces; everything you need is over there. I’ve prepared new things for you."
